Nestled in the heart of Lewes, the Premier Inn Lewes Town Centre hotel garners high marks for its superb location, surrounded by local shops, bars, and restaurants. Guests have repeatedly highlighted the hotel's atmosphere as clean and inviting, with particularly quiet rooms that contribute to a restful stay. While the rooms earn praise for their cleanliness and comfort, some guests have mentioned occasional noise disturbances and variable room servicing.
The hotel's amenities are generally appreciated, though limited parking and average breakfast options have been noted. Service is recognized as friendly and helpful, despite a few hiccups with staff efficiency. Opinions on value are mixed, with some travelers finding the pricing reasonable, while others consider it a bit steep, particularly during peak events like Glyndebourne week.

You won’t get luxury at a Premier Inn but if like me you had to stay in Lewes for a week (due to building work at home in my case) and just wanted a good hotel at a decent price this fits the bill. The beds are very comfortable, the room is spotless, plenty of refreshments in the room and you can help yourself to some more tea sachets and milk, et cetera outside in the foyer. No biscuits though. My room was advertised with a walk-in shower but in fact it was over the bath which was a problem as I’ve recently hurt my back. Free toiletries. The breakfasts were generous and although in theory you could order a cooked meal OR help yourself to a continental breakfast I noticed most customers seem to enjoy both yet none of the staff minded! Like most hotels, the toaster was inordinately slow …
The evening meal however, had a very unhealthy and menu for the most part and was in adequately served: I had to collect some of the accompaniments to our meal from the chef’s service hatch myself because the waiter was frankly overworked. There seem to be more staff bobbing around the drinks area waiting on the food. This meant some of our food was cold when we finally got to eat it and sources et cetera were missing until I went in search of them and brought them back myself. It wasn’t the best steak or soup I’ve ever eaten and of course it was chips with everything. For dinner I would frankly advise people to eat elsewhere and there are plenty of lovely restaurants in Lewes.
Phone reception and Wi-Fi was patchy at best. As usual with hotels these days they prefer you to book online and it is impossible to extend your stay because their computer simply won’t let you even if there is room. The staff tried to help me for a long time but their hands are tied by the technology. I would definitely recommend this place for a short stay as I feel you get rather more than you pay for but I can’t recommend it for people with children unless they get larger family room on the top floor, as the rooms are quite small if you have more than one person in them with say an extra bed.

We were staying at Premier Inn Uckfield for the week but unfortunately due to a planned power cut we were transferred for the night to Premier Inn Lewes which was only a 15min drive away. It is located in the heart of Lewes and makes for the perfect spot in such a idyllic market town, if you did want to venture further afield both Brighton & Eastbourne are just a 20/30min drive away. There is free parking available opposite the hotel from 5pm - 8am and then only a max 2hr stay throughout the day but other car parks nearby are available.
Premier Inn Lewes is such an iconic looking hotel with rooms overlooking the nearby mountains and town centre, it is very clean & tidy with staff being really friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay one to remember. I couldn't believe the size of our room which was located in the corner of the hotel, plenty of room for the whole family. We did stop in the evening for a drink in the bar which is quite pricey and with limited shops in the area it would be advised to stock up before coming.
The hotel has a Thyme restaurant which serves both breakfast and evening meals, luckily we were offered breakfast complimentary due to transferring hotels because of the power cut. Breakfast was delicious and definitely set us up for our day of exploring the area, I have to say a big shoutout to Katie at breakfast, she is so bubbly and made our morning with how kind she was, definitely a valued member of staff!
Lewes can sometimes be pricey with rooms reaching over ÂŁ120 a night... so definitely advise booking in advance if you can, Premier Inn seems to be charging over the odds currently!

We chose to stay at Premier Inn in Lewes while visiting relatives because the standard and quality of accommodation is consistent no matter the location. We also took advantage of seasonal discounts. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was as we had previously known and expected. We had a comfortable nights sleep.
Our only concern might be that the rooms are above several restaurants with on street tables and chairs. During the summer months with open windows and boisterous customers noise might be an issue.

The room was modern, well designed, clean & comfortable, it was also quiet, no traffic noise or any disturbance from neighbouring rooms or corridor. The dining room was well laid out with comfortable furnishings, choice of food excellent, service attentive & pleasant. Being above the ground floor there is a lift to all floors. The car park is run by the Town council at reason able rates for up to 2 hours, free from 5pmm to 9am, you just have to take a chance.

3 night stay with my wife while attending 2 operas at Glyndebourne. Very comfortable and clean, with friendly staff and good facilities. Although the adjacent car park is payable between 9am and 5pm and time-limited to 2h between those times, there’s a very high turnover of vehicles there during the day and we never had to wait more than a minute or two for a space (we were there on 3 midweek days). Plenty of other parking around (including the long stay near Harvey’s brewery - that was full once, but there were plenty of spaces in car parks nearby down South St). It must be said the car park next to the hotel can look a bit grubby, with plenty of discarded litter at the end of the day, but it felt safe, and the hotel itself is very clean.

We have stayed in several Premier Inns and this was the best. The room and public areas were immaculate and spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable. All staff were professional, pleasant and helpful. I noticed them polishing public areas when not dealing with customers. They really seemed to take pride in keeping the areas pristine. The breakfast area was attractive and the food was plentiful and of good quality. As with the other areas, it was kept very clean and tidy. Everything seemed to run like clockwork and was in close proximity. Reception, rooms and restaurant were all on the first floor and there was a lift if needed. This is a well located hotel - perfect for the town centre. There is a public car park adjoining the hotel which is free from 5pm - 9am, but payment is needed outside of these times. We only needed a maximum of 2 hours which cost ÂŁ1.80. (Coins needed) Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

After a shocking pre-stay experience in that in the previous week, it was all but impossible to get an answer on the telephone from Premier Inn, our confidence was restored upon arrival where everything worked efficiently.
Adequate public paid parking outside. Convenient location in town. Great for all the local attractions. Check in was easy and welcoming. The room and bathroom were clean with adequate liquid soap. Room has a double bed with a very comfortable mattress plus a single bed which can be made up on request. Good facilities such as a hairdryer in front of a dedicated area with mirror and lighting, plenty of plugs and kettle, cups, tea and coffee. The only missing element was a magnified mirror in the bathroom and there is no telephone in the room. We don’t use the breakfast dining facilities
The main objection was the high price and we can only believe was hiked as it is Glynebourne week.

Two of us stayed in a Premier Plus room at the hotel for one night. We were walking the South Downs Way and had just done 18.5 miles so we really needed a good room with a bath and comfy bed - and that's exactly what we got!
Soukayna on Reception gave us a warm, efficient welcome and a Premier Plus room on the 2nd floor. Nicely decorated, clean, good size, lovely bath with overhead shower and a comfortable bed. Also a small vanity area that had a good wattage hairdryer with a large mirror. So many times, the hairdryer power socket is far away from a mirror, so this was great! All the usual tea and coffee making facilities too.
We had breakfast which had plenty of choice - fruit, cereals, hot food with all the usual (hash browns, beans, sausages, bacon, eggs) croissants, toast and jams. The chef cooked gluten free sausages for my friend and also gluten free toast. Staff were friendly and efficient.
The hotel has a very central location so we were able to have a brief look around the town before checking out which was easy and quick.
Am happy to recommend this hotel, no complaints at all.

Lewes is hardly blessed with accommodation. Premier Inns are taking advantage of this in balancing their physical presence with the understaffing and poor provision of facilities.Granted it is a business hotel and maybe tolerable for a night, but those staying for longer are short changed. The staff, that are there are perfectly good at what they do but the place is soulless and sadly less than efficient. Which is more to do with the penny pinching of Whitbread than the people they employ. Cannot even say 'avoid' as if you are stuck in Lewes you are more than likely stuck at the Premier Inn.
