My sister, mum and I visited together after I had been previously with friends. It improves on every visit - the rooms are clean, spacious and have lovely views of the grounds. We loved the spa and health club, and found the food and service in the hotel particularly good. As a gluten-free coeliac, on both visits I have felt immensely comfortable and well-cared for, which can be rare! The gluten-free options are great and the staff take great care in ensuring the food is safely prepared and not cross-contaminated. The breakfast had a separate station with a gluten-free toaster and Schar GF cereals. What a win! Thank-you for a super experience, we’ll definitely be back.

We stayed as a family, using 3 different categories of room and overall would recommend the hotel, though would suggest choosing a higher grade of room than standard, especially in summer.
One room, a standard double, was in the original (older) part of the hotel and didn't have air conditioning, so was very, very warm, even with the provided fan. It didn't make for a comfortable night's sleep.
The executive double was lovely, with a view over the patio and lovely gardens. The windows were excellent and even with people talking on the patio right under the window, no noise could be heard. This room did have air conditioning, which was a little overexuberant and chilly! We couldn't figure out the controls and even the long presses suggested by the reception team didn't have an effect. To be honest, it was the perfect temperature at night though, which led to some wonderful sleeps!
The third room in our group was an enormous family room, overlooking the front lawn. Again, this had air conditioning and a fridge, which neither of the other two rooms had. The air con in this room was controllable so was a bit more comfortable.
The buffet breakfast was really good both in terms of choice and quality. We had tapas on arrival which was really nice but maybe a little pricy. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening, but the setting in the conservatory was very nice.
We were fortunate with the weather so had drinks on the patio each evening. I think if the weather hadn't been so nice, it would have been a bit cramped in the lounge bar, but thankfully we were able to sit outside.
The biggest positive about the hotel though is the staff. From the reception team, bar and restaurant staff and even the cleaners that we saw, everyone was very friendly, helpful and chatty. Everyone seemed genuinely very happy, so it must be a nice place to work.
We didn't use the leisure facilities, so we can't comment on these. We'd definitely stay again though as it's very well located for exploring the local area.
In summary, we had a wonderful stay, but if we could recommend three things to the hotel it would be:
- all rooms could benefit from a fridge; - update the room details on the website to make it clear which category of rooms have and don't have air conditioning; and - make sure the air conditioning controls work in the rooms that do have them.

We attended a family wedding and decided to add an extra night at the hotel. The facilities and the staff were great and the grounds lovely. However you will pay £6.50 for a bottle of cider or beer and upwards for spirits with a mixer, perhaps acceptable for some. The wedding food was in my opinion sub par, presented on the menu as A gourmet burger with skin on fries. Burger was tough and overcooked and nothing about it looked particularly gourmet, this just seems to be a word to support the inflated price. The fries appeared to be oven chips that were chewy and either burnt or undercooked. The following day we had a cream tea at £22 per person, for effectively one sandwich, 2 scones and two small cubes of cake - astounding profit margin I'm sure. For some you may justify these prices because of the status of the average clientele and grounds of a prestigious location but I think there needs to be less capitalism in abusing the guests limited options of surrounding alternatives and present either the quality deserved for such pricing or reduce pricing to reflect the actual quality.
Overall the family room was great, the family enjoyed the pool (however children under 12 are not permitted in the spa jacuzzis it must be noted) so effectively the family can only use the swimming pool, which is restricted to half a pool (for lane swimming) despite it being family hours between 2-7. Not amazing for families, more catered for couples in my opinion.

Good morning, thank you for your recent review following your visit with us and attending a wedding. I was very disappointed to read your comments in relation to the food served at the wedding. The wedding food is the choice of the Bride and Groom, so I am sorry it was not to your taste. In relation to the afternoon tea, served is a selection of finger sandwiches, four each serving, a plain and fruit scone each and a selection of 5 mini cakes per person. This is served with your choices of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. I am sorry if you felt this was over priced. I am pleased to read you enjoyed your room and the pool. All the best, Dani

We booked room 20, the best in the hotel. However, we were so stressed with the problems on arrival that we checked two smaller rooms and they were awful too so we left the hotel.
Our room, on first sight, looked great.
But a few minutes later we saw the bathroom ceiling had a crack and was not smooth. It was obvious there had been a leak and it was just painted over. We didn't want to inhale mould and had told the hotel we are suffering from mycotoxin illness so there mustn't be any mould or leaks! The staff just tried to hide it and said there wasn't mould. I know from experience and it was mould.
We tried out the bed and could feel the springs in our back. We had asked previously to remove toppers as we get hot and staff said that is why you can feel the springs. Regardless, beds shouldn't be so old or so poor in a hotel. I've slept on a bed like that before and couldn't walk for days.
Added to this, staff said that they couldn't get another topper as it wouldn't be hypoallergenic for us. They would have to check with housekeeping, but they can't get hold of anyone on a Sunday evening!
We asked for somebody senior but likewise no-one was available on a Sunday evening! For serious matters like this, this is extraordinary.
The manager, Saskia, was incredibly rude when we had a complimentary drink (but not complimentary nuts due to the upsetting situation). We told her how awful this situation was and we wanted to make a complaint to someone higher up and her reply was "You are welcome to do that" in an authoritative tone. She didn't care.
The new staff member on reception kept her cool and maintained her professionalism however and found us another hotel. This was where we had gone last year and will go again (book with Maria at The Relais Cooden Beach Hotel!).
Bannatyne's Hotel should be ashamed. There are no standards.
The booking process with them seemed very good, but all the above caused so much stress - and they didn't even follow up after we left. Avoid this hotel!!!

We booked a Deluxe Double for two nights. Apart from a couple of minor issues with the bathroom lighting, which the management addressed very satisfactorily, the room was perfect - extremely spacious and very comfortable. Staff, particularly in the bar, were very helpful. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on our first night, and the food was excellent. Breakfast on both days was also very good, with a great choice of hot and cold options. Both restaurant and bar have great views of the gardens. Although our room rate included complimentary access to the SPA, we were so busy visiting all the nearby attractions around Hastings - Sissinghurst, Batemans, Chartwell (slightly further afield) that we did not manage to take advantage of this, though we had a quick tour of the facilities and they looked impressive!

Rooms are in bad need of a refurb and mattresses replacing. A Premier Inn is way more comfortable than here and much cheaper Restaurant service was very poor, they wouldn't let us eat for over 2 hrs even though my wife is pregnant. Spa needs a relaxation area by the pool to compete with other better quality spas.

Stayed here for one night on december Booked via booking.com and £122 for the night with breakfast On arrival staff very friendly and the building is very grand Room was a standard double, small but comfortable En-suite facilities ok but water is either scolding or cold Be aware of the close proximity of the heated towel rail to the toilet ! I burned my posterior whilst getting off the 'throne' ouch Food in the bar was reasonable (burger and chips plus line and lemonade £26) You can access and enjoy the spa next door but beware: you have to pay £20 for the privilege: i was not aware of this until i arrived. However, the kind receptionist waived this fee and i enjoyed the gym and pool. However, jacuzzi was not working which was disappointing Overall, reasonable value for money, staff friendly and welcoming, room is adequate, bed comfy and breakfast delicious But, some decorating required and move that heated towel rail from opposite the toilet: i have a bum burn !

Feel so lucky to have found this place. A gorgeous property with kind, helpful staff and much to offer. Bannatyne hotel and spa has GREAT value. I used their sunyay offer which entitled me to a 20 minute massage or facial, £25 meal voucher, overnight stay in the hotel, access to the spa and complimentary breakfast.
We were upgraded and the deluxe room was gorgeous- very comfortable, relaxing and functional. I couldn’t believe how much choice was on the menu- especially as a vegan dining with a muslim (halal) friend.
The masseuse I had in the spa was amazing and the experience is tailored through an online form, but also what you ask for. My friend and I had two very different (positive) experiences tailored to the both of us!
We didn’t end up seeing much of hastings because of the awful weather but it was fine because we enjoyed being in the hotel so much.
The sauna and pool were nice but it was quite busy as it’s open to the public not just hotel guests! We still really enjoyed it though- outdoor hot tubs, pool, sauna and steam rooms.

Had a wonderful day at Bannatynes Spa today on the Lava Love experience. Parking was a pleasure, very close to the main door, the checking in experience was seamless. I had a lava stone massage with Sarah which was wonderful and relaxing, whilst my sister has the Swedish massage which she said was extremely relaxing. We had lunch from the cafe, which was reasonably priced, cheesy jacket potato with a mixed salad for under £6, very tasty. We then spent the afternoon in the outdoor hot tub, the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. All areas were clean and it wasn’t too busy. We finished our day with a shower - the water was deliciously hot. As we were leaving we were offered a taster arm and hand massage. Ten minutes of bliss before taking the long drive home. All in all a very relaxing and pleasant day. Thank you!

Very nice room, large, comfy bed. The bathroom was also nice and big but had a very noisy extractor. Lots of hanging and drawer space, tea and coffee making, water supplied. Only gripe with the room would be that the safe is effectively on the floor. Really needs to be at or near eye level, near impossible to use down there. Breakfast good, buffet and fresh cooked available. Dinner also good. Not sure why we had to book in for either in advance as was not busy, but was requested by email in advance of arrival. The Spa - For some reason the spa and hotel are two separate entities even though under the Bannatyne banner. Also in two very separate buildings with separate car parks. No covered walk way from hotel. I do feel that as a hotel guest, and booking a spa break through the hotel, that you should get at least a towel included for use, but an £8 non refundable deposit is required for towel, robe, flipflops and locker fee. I knew this in advance and took my own things. Also took a £2 coin for locker but they are not coin lockers they are high tech things, operated by wrist band that you needed a £2 deposit for and that has to be by credit card not cash! This is not a spa hotel, it is a hotel with spa access. Overall a good stay but would not return for a spa break for above reasons. For hotel, yes.

Sorry know I have not see any offers or as not veggie or vegan did'nt take much notice. Nice stay, but the spa area was very poor on when we visited as hot tubs not working. Could do with a lift with the decor
