The ibis Brighton City Centre - Station is lauded for its prime location near transport hubs and the city center, making it a hit with guests looking to explore Brighton. While its rooms generally receive compliments for cleanliness and comfort, a few visitors have highlighted concerns regarding upkeep and dated interiors. The hotel's atmosphere is mostly considered cozy, though the nearby nightlife can add a lively touch. Service quality seems to fluctuate, with reports of both commendable and subpar experiences. Travelers see the hotel as a budget-friendly option, despite some grumbles about extra charges and spa access confusion.

Had a wonderful two night stay at the IBIS Hotel in Brighton for the Marathon weekend. I cannot thank the staff enough for such a pleasant trip.
What really impressed me was the level of customer service the staff provided, they were very accommodating, especially for myself and other runners running the Marathon that weekend. Whatever i required never appeared a problem for the staff. I am very grateful.

At reception there was a sign confirming that breakfast is available earlier for marathon runners, and a complimentary drink is given to all runners who complete it. A very nice touch!!

Our room was located on the second floor, it was a decent size, basic but nice and clean, shower was powerful and the beds were comfortable. Air con is available in the room. Lifts and stairs are both an option to access other floors.

The Ibis is located right outside Brighton train station within the city centre, a perfect location if you want to explore the city on foot or via public transport. There is plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel.

There is parking available round the corner to the hotel, approximately 5 minute walk away. Its worth contacting the hotel as I believe they offer a discount for parking.

We paid for breakfast at the hotel, there was a really nice selection of hot and cold food items and juices, all neatly presented. Staff were again, very helpful if ever you required something. We really enjoyed the breakfast.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and would certainly return. Thank you.

A perfect location, could walk to everywhere in 20 mins, and expensive at ÂŁ200 per night in June, for a week, but Brighton is pricy anyway. The rooms are not huge, with built in storage and a slimline desk with wood floor. The small bathroom which was a pod style, like student accommodation and the shower were fine with shampoo etc. provided. The bed was hard but we like that and there are no curtains just 3 panels you pull across, so bring eye masks as we were awake by 6 am with the light flooding in. Also we kept the windows shut as the very early hotel delivery woke us up 1st night and used air con instead from then on. The buffet breakfast was good with coffee machines but watch out if you are a vegetarian/vegan as serving spoons can get muddled up, even though separate ones are provided. Plenty of choices for vegans though. Compliments to the chef too. The public area/ breakfast area were clean and the staff were busy clearing away and wiping down the tables continuously.
The cleanliness is average in the bedrooms but I wiped the surfaces, myself. Not sure if the room cleaning staff are short staffed.
Parking was offsite but we had no issues and hotel was very good with explanations. Peter was responsive and helpful.
Given 4 * as location very good and the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Special mention must go to Mar, Valentine, Leonardo and Summer. Thank you for making our work stay so friendly with your personal touch.

Am shocked to read the lesser complimentary reviews as this only my second night here and I wanted to write this review after breakfast this morning already!

I booked through my Flight Centre agent in South Africa and although the 12 hour flight, more than 3 hours drive (I got totally lost and was not expecting so much traffic and one way streets etc as I have never driven in Brighton before, the staff have been nothing but amazing from the get-go. I arrived yesterday (the 29th November) exhausted beyond belief but check in was extremely quick and I had my key card ready in seconds.

Jose (gracias, senor!) recommended an amazing Italian restaurant for dinner, Giovanna showed me all the amazing vegan (Halaal available too, as well as gluten-free) options for breakfast....I was blown away by her efficiency and friendliness...grazie mille, Giovanna! Julia helped me with directions to shops and a mall where I needed to do a few errands and we chatted about mutual interests but I stood back when other guests checked in. Thank you too, to Thomas, Junior, Chris, Jaeho and Vero for your assistance and smiling faces at reception and whenever I have had a query or clarification needed, along with all the sweet cleaning staff so willing to keep my room clean when the whole hotel seems to be full to the brim.

I love my room and felt right at home straight away. Am very grateful for the swing-arm doors as I call them so nobody can slam them shut, as well as the general quietness of the room even though we are on a busy street. Bath mat readily given by reception as indicated if we requested one and the room comes with complimentary coffee and hand wash, body wash and shampoo. All are replaced daily if you use them, as I noticed with the coffee when I came home this evening.

Keep it up, all of you....I loved Ibis Hounslow and this Ibis and its staff remind me why I chose this chain again, two years after my incredible Hounslow stay. I look forward to the next week ahead with Ibish Centre City Brighton!

Brighton deserves better really, as this hotel occupies a prime location right by the station just minutes from the North Laine area’s shops. It’s an expensive town and I guess that’s how this place stays in business as it is very poor value for money. The rooms are small and very basic indeed, with prefabricated pod-style shower rooms, hard beds and instead of curtains or blinds, just two thin fabric panels that slide across the window but do nothing to block out light. You will need an eye mask to avoid waking at dawn and probably won’t sleep well given the hard, thin mattress and pillows. Really the only good comments I can make was that the shower worked well and I appreciated the large bath towels and the provided shampoo and shower gel. I was also lucky enough to get a room at the end of the corridor on a high floor and overlooking the back of the hotel so it was quiet.

The high floor turned out to be a disadvantage as the hotel only has two small lifts and one of them was broken throughout my stay, meaning long waits to go both up and down. Frankly, I was relieved to check out. I wanted to be close to the station this time but I wouldn’t return - the privately run B&Bs nearer the beach that I’ve previously stayed at offer far more comfort.

I stayed at the Ibis Brighton and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. I encountered several problems during my stay that compromised the overall quality.

The bathroom in my room was dirty and clearly had not been thoroughly cleaned before my arrival. The teapot in the room was also visibly dirty, which made me question the quality of the overall cleanliness.

During breakfast, I noticed that many of the cups and utensils were stained or not well washed, making the experience unpleasant.

On the other hand, the bed was comfortable and I managed to sleep quite well, but the lack of attention to cleanliness still negatively affected my stay. The staff was friendly but I cannot recommend this hotel if cleanliness is a priority for you. I hope these aspects will improve in the future.

Location next to the station was very good - could leave luggage after arriving in Brighton. Had planned to stay in Brighton for 2 nights but ended up just staying 1 as it was cheaper to stay in a Premier Inn in London.

The staff were so friendly and trying really hard to create a good atmosphere in the bar, with entertainment, free tapas style snacks, etc.

However the room was really average. We were allocated a room with a disabled access bathroom which wasn't very clean and tired looking. I think the cleaner had only bothered to clean the toilet and wash hand basin as surfaces etc hadn't been touched.
The room itself was basic which is what expect with Ibis budget but for ÂŁ180 per night it felt like a rip off.

Stayed here with my parents in a twin room with sofa bed - came down to visit family. The rooms are very basic and can only be described as a cross between university halls and a cruise ship. The rooms are sparsely decorated and it's all definitely been done on the cheap.

The bathroom 'pod' in the corner of the room is like a cruise ship bathroom. All plastic fixtures, however one plus is that hand wash and shampoo/body wash is provided, and we had lots of towels.

The cleanliness of the room left a bit to be desired, with some suspect looking stains on the wall above the sofa bed and coffee rings on the side under the window, and only one toilet roll between 3 adults?

The hotel screams city centre and the rooms reflect this, with hard floors throughout. We only used it as a base for the one night due to its great location near the train station, but it really lacked soft furnishings and a comfy feel. The rooms almost feel a bit clinical.

Breakfast was just OK... hot buffet with the typical full English stuff, toaster, jams, continental section. Some of the hot buffet looked like it'd been there a few days.

All in all, I probably wouldn't stay again, but it served a purpose for one night and the location is great, near to the train station and lots of great restaurants.

The Ibis has a great location just a couple minutes walk from the railway station. Very convinient and easy when arriving from Heathrow or Gatwick. The main shopping streets are only a short walk away, about 10 mins. Palace Pier approx 15-20 mins walking distance. The rooms at the Ibis is clean and fresh and is a great alternative if you are in this beautiful city for shopping & sightseeing and prefer not to put "all your money" on accomodation. Nevertheless, please be aware of the limited space for storing luggage. I asked upon my check-in if I could store my luggage the next morning as I was traveling back home in the afternoon. I was told they could not guarantee anything and that I had to be at the reception very early to see if it was possible to store my luggage. I was able to store my suitcase and when I got back a few hours later to pick it up I realised the reception staff did not have a very good overview of all the stored luggage and which belonged to whom and it felt like they "had given up". Probably a busy day, but in the end, it`s all in the details.

We stayed at the Ibis in Brighton for one night. The location was good & the rooms were clean & tidy. The bathroom 'pod' was a bit rickety but clean. The rooms arent very bright & theres no mirror at the dressing table/desk. Had to sit on the floor in front of the mirror but the door to straighten my hair. Rooms arent very soundproof, could hear people upstairs walking around & in the room next door. However, the food......... was horrific!! ÂŁ15 each for fish & chips we thought was high but might be good being near the seaside, so we went with it. It was awful, very disapppinted. It was like a battered piece of fish from the Tesco value range. It barely tasted of fish more like mashed potato, this is not the standard we expected. It looked anaemic & was stuck to the plate as the battery was gooey. The chips were bland to. We were sooo hungry after travelling for almost 3 hours we ate most of it but this is shocking!! ÂŁ15 for this is disgusting. We chose not to pay for breakfast for fear of disappointment. The diet coke was flat. Our friend has the sharing platter for 2 & it was barely enough for one adult! Other friends had chicken & chips which had been very well cooked/overdone. The waitress kindly brought us cutlery which consisted of a few napkins 2 spoons & 2 forks for 5 adults! She did rectify this but we were left feeling like we were asking to much & were wrong for asking for knives. Unfortunately has put us off using this hotel again & we would probably not choose another Ibis in future. Not a nice experience.
