Avoid this hotel at all costs. We stayed for two nights and the following problems were discovered - rude and unhelpful staff more interested in finishing phone conversations with friends than ensuring the customer is happy - the plug in the bath did not work properly so the bath could not hold water for more than 5 mins - not once were we asked how we found the stay - asked at reception for some ice water and was told to go to the hotel next door - all the advertised facilities are that of the neighbouring hotel as all the facilities within the east cliff are not actually operating - special requests prior to the stay were not even acknowledged let alone taken care of - the room was damp and dusty - the tv was missing a remote. Managed to turn it on manually to find that there was no signal Overall you are paying £140 for an incredibly uncomfortable bed and service with a snarl. AVOID!

Incredibly run down and understaffed hotel. We drove past twice as we thought it was closed down. The marketing pictures and description are inaccurate and should be reviewed as they mis represent the hotel. The external decor is bad with paint peeling and rotten timber, the pool area closed and the pool filthy dirty, no bar, no restaurant and no room service. Given the wrong room and eventually changed to the room we had requested, ie sea view and balcony. Room okay but tired furniture, balcony filthy, tea and coffee in plastic bag and not replenished. 3 plastic cups, interconnecting door to next room unlocked and broken handle so door would not shut.. Soap dispenser fell off wall. Only an English style breakfast, no healthier option, food undercooked and toast did a good impersonation of a wet flannel. Duty manager never available and we were told Mr paul Clarke would be in touch. Not heard a word. So many other complaining people, this hotel is a disgrace, it only offers B and B. Booking .com should not promote this hotel and the marketing brochure should be updated to show the true picture. WE cancelled our third night.

We have just returned from this hotel after a 3 night stay, with our 6 yo daughter & 11 month baby. I’m going to keep this brief because I am exhausted. Room not ready upon arrival, took a further 2 hours. No compensation offered. Lift not working-we had a suitcase, 2 bags, a baby & a pushchair. And were given a room on the 3rd floor. And when asked no facility for storing our pushchair downstairs. Still not working when we left for home, 3 days later. We just about managed without being offered no help from staff ( other guests were amazing, so polite & happy to help) but i’m not sure how someone in a wheelchair would! So dissapointed. Pool-disgusting & not maintained. Were directed to the neighbouring hotel’s one. Breakfast-despite staff trying their very best, basic requests were not being met. We asked for the same Items (juice and toast) multiple times after finally receiving them 15-20minutes later. Food was terrible. So incredibly undercooked. We stuck to lukewarm beans and warm toast. Only good thing going for it was the location, right by the beach, a nice walk from the pier & restaurants. So many missed opportunities here, with folk not going abroad but its a shame none have been capitalised upon. Overall, i would never return and certainly would not recommend.

We had late check in, as with many other guests told to go somewhere as there was no idea how long until we could check in because only 2 cleaners were overworked (we got told this happened the day before aswell by the staff, so not sure why they didn't solve this issue to prevent it reoccurring) . Once in the room I had found a dirty towel, the kettle had clearly not been used or cleaned since lockdown closure as was filled with mould. The shower only trickled cold water, to have full pressure it was then scorching hot, there was no middle warmthness. I had put the tv on for kids to watch while we're getting ready and it was un watchable, every channel was glitching horrendously. All facilities at the hotel are closed, including the pool.. we'd need to walk to sister hotel for anything we needed. The breakfast was OK. Overall The hotel is run down and needs a make over and alot of TLC. We won't return.

Firstly, the staff tried their best. They were incredibly apologetic about the condition of our rooms, lack of hot water, limited breakfast, no bar, no restaurant in the evening (to name a few things they were apologetic for) but even so, it did not make up for the stay. Is it too much to have hot shower?! Or a meal having driven over 3 hours for a well deserved break? Instead we were “greeted” with the fact that the pool was closed.. well, it looked as though it had never been open and that the restaurant is not open as the hotel next door is the base for any food or drinks - that would have been handy to know on booking. The only saving Grace was a comfortable bed to sleep in and a beautiful view but the building work next door was an unexpected morning call. Bournemouth itself is a beautiful place but East Cliff is a part of this seaside town they can do without.
