Recently returned to the Celebrity having stayed there whilst working in Bournemouth in 2016. It was disappointing to see that the hotel is still in need of updating. The room we stayed in (Sophia Loren) was still decorated in the same style as the rooms I stayed in 6 years previously. The headboard for the bed looked like it was built for a bigger bed (bed was queen sized) which meant that the side tables were a long stretch from the side of the bed. The bathroom was old with faulty fitting side panels on the bath. The shower was mixer taps over the taps and could have been more powerful. The room was extremely clean though despite it's dated appearance. The breakfast was buffet style and again was as it was in my previous stay. There was a selection of cooked items and a limited cereal selection. The orange juice and apple juice wasn't the fresh juices. Dinner in the evening posed a problem with under staffing resulting in a long delay. We decided to eat out each night instead. However having said that this is a good budget hotel in a great location close to the beach and the town centre restaurants and bars. The staff are very helpful and attentive to your needs. It's USP of celebrity themed rooms makes this a recommended budget hotel to visit. Be warned that car parking ca be a problem when the hotel is full. There is an overflow car park at the rear of the hotel on Grove Road.

Hotel's Favourite
I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. We were in the star wars room which I think had been recently refurbished. The star wars theme was good fun but not too over the top. Comfy bed and big TV. The bath is absolutely huge and they've got water softeners so a long bath is very enjoyable. The breakfast did take a while, it looked like they'd just had a lot of people in but they were really nice and apologetic (and also didn't mind that it meant we had to check out a bit late) so we didn't mind too much, I'm assuming it's usually a buffet but at the moment you pick your breakfast the day before and it's made fresh which was really nice. The staff couldn't do enough for us, our door broke and the guy in reception was brilliant, despite it being a sat eve he got a mantinance guy out and had it fixed within ten minutes of us reporting it. It's about a five minute walk to the beach and about ten to the station so a great location! Would definitely recommend.

We have stayed at the celebrity for years as a big group. Same time each year for 2/3 nights. Every year the celebrity will try to accommodate anything you ask, the staff are always lovely and we think the refurbished rooms are great. This year was somewhat different, we had a major issue that happened that left us all very shocked. The next morning 3 rooms were refunded a nights stay and management did seem shocked and could not have been more sorry. We had other minor issues like breakfast was so slow even when booking the day before. Food came out either missing parts or something different to what we ordered however this was minor, it’s was just when the restrictions were being lifted and we all knew it was difficult for the staff and the pressure they were under at that time. Obviously when something bad happens you feel reluctant to stay again however due to staying year after year we thought we would contact the hotel to make the normal group booking and give them another go. We tried contacting the hotel after we left. One method being email which was ignored so I sent another, again ignored let alone the email address was correct and replied too by the manager the week before. This felt very insulting after everything that happened and having the manager tell us she was so deeply sorry, to not let this incident cloud our view of returning. Yes they refunded us one night however things could have gone very different that evening and we have been shocked by their attitude since. We now be using a different hotel and feel very let down by the lack of customer loyalty this hotel offers.

Just got back from a 2 night stay, my wife and I have been going to this hotel on a regular basis for 4 yrs now, each time we have seen big improvements in every way, which is obviously where the profits have been used. Originally all the rooms were dated and needed some care, gradually this is happening as others have mentioned. It has suffered from a fire in a hotel nearby and also having to close because of covid.Through all this the staff have always been polite and helpful. The breakfast always adequate having now been returned to buffet.but we felt always something missing. This time Rob who we assume is the Manager of the dining area, if he's not he should be , has brought the Hotel one step higher by overseeing the staff and sparing a bit of time to inquire if your food was satisfactory and if you are enjoying your stay! Extra touches like this make you feel comfortable and more attached to the Hotel in general. Say hello to Rob when you go next

Just back from a four night stay at Hotel Celebrity. The hotel has a very interesting history and there are lots of interesting facts dotted around the hotel. We had a refurbished room which had been decorated in greys which is very on trend at the moment, and the king size bed was huge and had lovely fresh white linen. Bathroom did lack storage space, but had a lovely shower cubicle and plenty of hot water. Room was very clean and tidy, although was not serviced during our stay due to covid, but bathroom would be replenished each day and extra items could be requested at reception. We did not have any view to speak of and some noise from the air con fans if we had the windows open but this did not bother us at all. The buffet breakfast was good, well presented and clean and tidy. All the staff were polite and pleasant. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening, but it did seem popular. Had to park in the street a couple of nights due to there being no spaces in the car park, but this was not a problem. Just be aware street parking is free 6pm to 9am, so we had to make sure we moved the car before 9am. Good location, just a short walk to the beach.
