The hotel needs a bit of TLC, but what British seaside hotel doesn't, the staff were really good, very polite and helpful.we had a standard room due as we booked late and it was very small and basic, but who goes on holiday to stay in their room. We used the restaurant one night and the food and service was good. Car parking is free if you book through the hotel website. Would I go again-Yes.

What a horrid experience! Exterior of the hotel looks ok, interior is ok however the standard twin room we stayed in was horrific! Thank God it was only 2 nights! The room itself was so small and for two adults a joke! Incredibly hot with no ventilation apart from a small electric fan which we left on at all times. The join between the walls and ceilings looked mouldy and the bathroom tiles where filthy around the shower/bath area. The staff when they did serve where polite but service was slow. Asked for room service at 9pm and begrudgingly received it, however the Italian Cafe stopped taking bookings after 7.30 at night and when that is the only option in the hotel for an evening meal a bit of a joke! Complaints from other guests was all I heard! For the money better off in a travel lodge or premier inn! Website says 62 rooms with a sea view! Haha! Also if you don’t book direct with the hotel they charge £12 per night for the car park!

We had a private party at the ocean beach hotel, staff were very helpful and the food was fantastic! The function room is nicely decorated and has an amazing view, our family room was very comfortable over looking the sea. Breakfast was delicious. Only thing we struggled was getting up the main steps with a buggy as there is no ramp access so had to lift the buggy. Would definitely recommend this hotel

We originally booked into the Suncliff Hotel next door which was disgusting and we complained and they transferred us to the Ocean Beach and upgraded us to a sea view room free of charge. The room was excellent and they arranged for our luggage to be transferred from the other hotel and brought up to the room. The room was excellent clean and tidy nice bathroom and lovely sea view. All of the staff there were really friendly and couldn't have been any more attentive. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and we also booked in for dinner and the 3 course meals were always hot and tasty and the service very efficient in spite of there being several coach parties staying there and the dining room was busy. The icing on the cake was when we went to pay for the car park and they told me that as we had been so inconvenienced originally and having to change hotels they waived the £60 for the 5 night stay and we were really shocked as I hadn't requested this so fair play to the Oceana Group.

Stayed for 4 nights over the air show weekend. Firstly the staff were very helpful and always had a smile and I have nothing bad to say about them. The room on the other hand was poor. In desperate need of a full refurbishment. All of the fixtures and fittings are very worn and haven’t seen any TLC in a long time. You could feel. The springs in the bed and I can only presume it hasn’t been changed in years (clean sheets every day at least). Bedroom windows are old wooden single pane that may as well be open as they stop no noise at all (woken about 630 every morning by bins being used from the kitchen). The bathroom despite being reasonably sized was old and dated with a small bath and stand up shower. I am only 5’9 yet I couldn’t even get my shoulders under the shower head whilst stood upright!. The water pressure was also very poor and took 28 minutes to run the bath to a useable level. If you’re after a good nights sleep then be wary as the walls are paper thin and I was woken very night by people chatting the corridor. It has an outdoor pool but again in need of TLC….. lots of algae on the tiles and freezing cold. If you want to use a pool then go to the Cumberland as it looks the best of the three available. Overall I felt sorry for the staff because they seemed great but massively let down by sub standard rooms and facilities. Best to avoid until this place ever gets refurbishment!.
