We stayed here in early September. Not the best Premier Inn I’m afraid. Breakfast was chaotic, and our room was uninspiring with a view of the fire escape. I wouldn’t have bothered to write a negative view, but for the fact that we had a lot of trouble with blocked plumbing in the bathroom. We told reception that water was taking a couple of hours to drain from the bath and the sink was blocked. We were advised that a plumber would sort it out that day. Well, he may have tried, but he didn’t succeed! The following day this was remedied, but by this time we’d had two nights and days when we couldn’t use the bath as and when we wished, and even using the basin was limited. This was not a good way to spend a holiday! We were told that as compensation, we would be refunded the cost of our 4 breakfasts and that this would take 5 working days. This was 2 weeks ago and we have not received the money. I have sent an email to query this and have had no reply. I’m afraid this has affected my loyalty to Premier Inns. Are they going to keep their word and issue a refund?

Hotel's Favourite
Have stayed here before and really liked it! Was concerned with Covid / financial repercussions that this hotel wouldn't survive but it has and is a CREDIT to Bournemouth hotels. Not only that, staff were fab eg Reception - Ava the girl having to wear a sling with a poorly arm and the young blonde girl - all full of genuine smiles and so helpful when we asked to drop off our cases pre check-in. Our room (we had upgraded at the time of booking) was lovely and this too is also a CREDIT to the lovely cleaning staff who we espied as we left the room and said hello to - very friendly and again genuine. For the record, we had a couple of years ago stayed at a 4 star self-styled boutique Bournemouth hotel and thought it 5/10, Certainly the balcony room was no better and the room itself was small with old fashioned heavy furniture. This Premier Inn is 6 mins from the beach, 1 min from The Pavilion, 4 mins from a few bus stops and 6 mins from the shops - a winner as far as I am concerned! Apols re long review but I wish to praise the Reception staff and Manager for handling a bit of a "handful" guest yesterday afternoon who deserved really to stay at the afore-mentioned Boutique style hotel instead. We were sitting waiting for a taxi and heard the guest raise her voice and become demanding - I really hope she was a mystery shopper and not a genuine guest - all hail the Premier Inn staff! If the Head Manager wishes to PM me, feel free as I won't stay anywhere else in Bournemouth in future - including our next booked trip in Sept to attend a concert. Thank you!

Thank you for your incredible and thought-provoking review. Your thorough review is really helpful for our team who endeavour to continue working hard so that our guests have the best stay that is possible with us. In light of your point on the cleanliness of your room, this is a highly-regarded strength that we have with our hard-working housekeeping team that work behind the scenes every day. Your amazing compliments about our staff and their friendliness really do make a difference to us because we can see what we are doing well and what we need to strive to improve on. We look forward to seeing you in September when you return.

Good location and facilities. We had a poor night sleep on 2/3 nights we stayed which affected the rest of our time away. Requested a new room but were told there wasn't any available. Found hairs in the bathroom and general cleanliness wasn't up to scratch.

Booked a premier plus room after reading on the website that they all have king-size beds and air conditioning among other things. The room had a standard double and the air con didn't work, spoke to staff about being moved, was told they were all the same and none of the air con worked. I was given a fan and a weak apology. The main reason for booking the premier plus room was for those two things and I got neither. At one stage the wall console that controls the temperature stayed active long enough to tell me it was 28 degrees in the room. Impossible to sleep. I actually feel exhausted from attempting to relax in that pit.

In a one time good location, but the street it a little run down, some rough sleepers around the hotel which is sad to see on all levels. The hotel appears short staffed. Breakfast buffet has returned along with the general mayhem of many people milling around. Was much better with table service. Buffets are also a pain for solo travellers as your table can be taken away whilst at the buffet. Availability of some items at breakfast was an issue. I took one evening meal, the service was terrible due to lack of staff, the meal was not as advertised either as items not in stock, but substituted without any mention to the customer. Very poor dining experience all round. Single rooms tend to be over the next door casino entrance, so you can expect noise in the early hours at weekends when people leave. The windows are poorly maintained & despite a double glaze do not block out sound. Most of the time only one lift seemed to work. I have stayed here before and I would say standards have fallen. They need more staff & better staff training.
