Travellers' Choice
Adult only B&B offering quiet elevated position on one of Torquay's 7 hills, within a 5 minutes gentle sloped walk of Torquay harbour with its array of bars, restaurants and clubs and buses and ferries across the Bay. All rooms are spacious with en suites and all first floor rooms have sea views. These sea views are as a result of our elevated position, we do not claim to be seafront! There is also free off street parking for all guests. We are motorbike friendly with secure flat parking at the side of the house, and also offer use of our fresh water wash down and drying area for wet diving , sailing or motorbike gear. Due to the elevated position of The Redholme, guests with mobility issues may find the sloped driveway access to the house difficult. It also goes without saying that the return from the harbour to The Redholme is uphill. If you find walking uphill difficult then we suggest you stay elsewhere. Complaining later on a review site is bad form.

Just returned from a brilliant four night stay at The Redholme B&B. Mel and Paul made us really welcome - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotless and spacious. Freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choice. Great attention to detail. The Redholme is well situated for all local amenities. We will certainly stay there again if visiting Torquay in the future.

As we enjoyed our 5 day stay here in May this year we decided to book up for another 5 days this month. Our hosts are very hospitable and looked after us exceptionally well serving beautifully cooked and presented breakfasts and a nice touch of home baked muffins to take away after breakfast. Our ensuite room was very well decorated, clean and spacious, tea and coffee etc and met all our needs. .The property is conveniently situated up a slight hill for walking into Torquay which takes around 10 minutes. Parking was also available. We will definitely be going back there when we next visit Torquay.

A truly superb B+B. Just got back from another weeks stay and have stopped here 4 times over the last couple of years now. It's our go to place to stay when in Torbay. It just ticks all the boxes and some. It's and lovely place which is located very well, the rooms are great, the breakfast is spot on, the hosts are a lovely attentive couple who go out of their way to make you welcome. Highly recommended.

Thanks as a returning Guest to leave such a great Review....we honestly appreciate your comments. Only having the four rooms now does affect our activity and the number of positive reviews on this particular site, but all in all we still, after 9 years, are doing ok! See you again. Mel and Paul.

Redholme is an outstanding B&B by any measure. We are repeat customers and will certainly be going back next time we're planning to be in Torquay. And trust me, we don't stay a second time at places which fail to measure up. It's not difficult to identify the quality here. The place has been renovated by the owners to a very high standard to re-capture the house's Edwardian heyday, but with all mod cons now added. So as well as period wallpaper and stained glass you'll have everything you'd expect from a high-end B&B in 2021. Don't even get me going about the food. We've stayed in plenty of good hotels in over 40 countries but have never had better breakfasts, never mind in a place that markets itself only as a B&B. The choice is wide and all the items are excellent. As for me as a coeliac, the Redholme's breakfasts cope seamlessly with my need for gluten-free food. A special mention too for the fact they bothered to provide gluten-free biscuits in our room (I don't think I've ever seen this thoughtful little touch anywhere else) as well as a fresh-baked gluten-free muffin to take away each day as a portable snack. The location is also fantastic, by the way, just an easy 10-minute stroll from the harbour and Torquay's best bars and restaurants. The Redholme also has ample off-street parking so there will be no need to worry about your car. The biggest draw, however, has to be the owners Paul and Mel. A nicer, more welcoming and more proficient pair of hosts you won't meet anywhere. As a final point, let me just say that the value for money at the Redholme is sensational. We've compared them with other B&Bs we've recently stayed at in several south coast resorts and all I can report is that Paul and Mel charge less than any of them despite being very clearly the best of the lot and in fact operating in a different and higher league than most of the others. Draw your own conclusions about how good a deal that makes the Redholme for customers. So go. Treat yourself. We will be again.

We spent 5 wonderful days here and it was a real treat. Paul and Mel were amazing hosts, very knowledgeable about the area and extremely welcoming. The rooms were impeccably clean with all you needed in them. The breakfast was fresh and beautifully cooked with lots of extras. Mel baked muffins every morning presenting them to us for a treat when we were peckish. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts ,we will certainly visit them again if we are in the vicinity.
