Although the N2 is right behind you the noise from the freeway is negligible and easy to ignore. This little gem is right at the end of the road bordering the Mtwalume river mouth. There about 5/6 cabins and 10 hotel rooms as well as a conference centre. For an entire day we were the only people booked in. We spent hours by the rock pool either swimming or lounging and taking in the wonderful views of the ocean and the lagoon. The indoor dining area and lounge pretty is cool as well. Wifi is only available at reception. The games room had a pool table and you can request board games for a small fee. The receptionist Siya gave us excellent service and he doubles a waiter and manager. Rooms are spacious with balconies, not all have full sea views as some are obstructed with trees. Despite the complex being built as a wooden cabin the insides are well finished Bar fridges are standard. Bathrooms could be a bit better
The beach in front of the resort is a 5 minutes walk away but not recommended for swimming as its isolated
Food was of an good standard and halaal, an rarity in hotels.

excellent very private, clean and comfortable resort with exclusive access to beach and fishing spots. Good food and beverages, catering for all tastes including Halaal and no alcohol.
Also caters for seminars, workshops, weddings and events.
Owner managed and operated a bonus. staff very professional, pleasant and helpful.
Lodges and rooms very neat, sea views, well equipped - - smart tv, mini fridge, tea, coffee, aircon.
Would highly recommend to local and international visitors and holiday makers seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life in a very safe, well maintained environment. 30-40 minutes from Durban city centre.
Nombusa, Mohamed and Winnie take very good care of guests.

Pleasant staff. Accomodated all our needs.
Staff were friendly and always willing to help.
Rooms were kept neat and cleaned properly daily.
Breath taking views. Peaceful and calm getaway.
Definitely a hidden gem. Most importantly for us was the fully halaal catering. Meals were prepared fresh and all meals were delicious.

Room : The winter blanket that was in our cupboard was thrown in the cupboard when we arrived and not folded. The previous guests had also left a t- shirt behind which your cleaning staff had not removed.

The bathrooms / housekeeping:
The bathroom was cleaned and then sand was thrown in our basin which is not fair as it was left for me to clean. We also had wet clothes we left out to dry which was thrown in my husbands bag which caused it to smell miffy. There was also a duvet that was changed and replaced with another cover which had a burn mark of some sort which seems like it could have been from an iron.

Loadshedding lamp :
We had no lamp in our room , and when I tried contacting you there was no answer. I completely understand perhaps you had knocked off and you guys close at 17:00 , but then there needs to be someone at reception who can assist the guests with any queries after hours.

When we spoke on the phone you mentioned that there are 10 facilities and there were only 2 braai that were back to back .

Tv remote :
The cleaners had dropped the remote and lost a battery which we then found under the bed . This was under the bed for two days , which showed that the room was not cleaned accordingly .

Parking :
No parking was allocated to our room and it caused friction between your other guests and us as other guests parked skew which left us with little to no space to park . There are no lines indicating how you should park either.

Breakfast :
Your variety to choose from was very limited and the fruit selection of a small bowl of apricots was shocking .
The mixed fruit salad on a seperate morning had clearly been standing out for a while and the fruit was drying out and didn’t look appetizing at all.

With all shops being far and your resort being hallaal, it would be nice if there was a little store where we could buy something like milk or a quick pie or sandwich. Your accommodation isn’t cheap and we sort of expected a certain level of service.

Perhaps this feedback might fall on deaf ears based on the terrible we received this morning with “okay”and an attitude.
Being reporting the feedback of our stay with our point of contact for the accommodation , I would have expected some sort of an apology or a more accommodating response from her.

This place should be closed down. No menu for dinner, but decided upon by chef and written on a piece of paper, and badly prepared steak. TV only had OpenView and only 1 channel was working, had to get maintenance to sort it out. Early in the morning, around around 7, got woken up by Assistant Manager to explain the bill as we were checking out and that we don't have to pay anything, based on the service. Few minutes later, another knock to tell us that the bill has been revised and have to pay less than R200. On check-out, was called aside, and the bill was now back to R1500 plus. Lack of professionalism. Please close this place down, marketing is deceiving

Dear Luthulnk Thank you so much for your response. Just before arrival we explained the room set up and you chose a family unit consisting of 2 double beds in the room. But when you arrived at the room you said you booked two rooms. It was late at night so we gave you the extra room. The bill changed due to us charging you only for one room like you requested on WhatsApp but you took another room upon arrival. You left without having breakfast and it was already prepared. Freshly baked scones, Fishfingers for the kids, baked beans , Eggs and Vienna sausages. We had to give the food to the staff due to you leaving. The same happened the night of dinner you ordered dessert. The brownies were made and you changed your mind leaving and we had to divide that again between the staff. The food was excellent we also gave you a menu with different options on you chose your own dinner. Most Guesthouses has open view it is more cost effective and has more movie channels than Dstv the only thing it does not have is sport. We always do our best to accommodate our guests. Have a blessed day

Front office and FnB staff very really helpful and friendly . Rooms were clean with a magnificent view. Only one star short due to wifi limitations and shop resources were limited. Check in was smooth and the room was available earlier than check-in time. Breakfast was good. Open parking - not the best for hail and stormy weather. Room size is great, however sound travels from other rooms due to wooden floors

Absolutely loved my stay at this hidden resort. From fantastic sea views to such delicious Halaal cuisine, what more could one ask for!! Wooden cabins with a modern twist - you gotta love it. Had the pleasure of dealing with the most helpful and friendly hostess, Nombusa, who goes the extra mile for everyone! Wish I could take the Chef away.....you have to try the mutton curry WOW!!! Will definitely be back!!

Good day Mr Hall The resort is Muslim owned. The main building is completely alcohol free and no alcohol is sold. If you would like to have alcohol in your room that is allowed. Other than that nowhere else on the premises. I hope this clears it up for you
