First day started a little rough when the hotel called us to say the hot water tank broke and they didn’t know when it would be fixed. We reserved the hotel months in advance and booked 6 days/5 nights. Because we were travelling to an event there were no other hotels available on a last minute basis.
We arrived and luckily the hotel water was fixed on the 2nd day. I thought I could tough out a cold shower but realized the water was colder than a frozen lake!
Complimentary breakfast was good. The breakfast room was good and the lady there was very pleasant. I felt like I was rushing in the morning to get down because breakfast was only until 9am. If I could have one request it would be for breakfast to be a little later so I could sleep in longer on my holidays!!
Room cleaning was not offered and we were advised upon check-in. I don’t mind so much but it was not really a holiday type feeling when I was missing some of the perks like a fresh made bed or new towels and a clean garbage can. I don’t like garbage to collect so that was a bit inconvenient collecting it and asking for someone to come collect it.
Overall my room was clean upon arrival. I was also happy that of my entire trip… it was here that I had the best sleeps!

This hotel definitely takes advantage of the people on the road, we called early in the morning and was told only two rooms left, when we got there there was obviously a lot of rooms left, when I checked in with Derek why they were not full, said there were 30 rooms left but no cleaning staff, I can understand that but why not give us a cheaper room, would only give us a king room at $232 and other room was more expensive, I asked for rate for CAA or seniors and said they don’t do that, other holiday inns certainly do. Needless to say won’t be returning. We stayed at 4 winds motel, with basically same room, king, chair and ottoman and bigger tv, which swung around which holiday inns did not

I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express in New Liskeard. The room was clean and comfortable, showing a little bit of its age but still very pleasant. The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast was great, with a good selection of items to choose from.
Although the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, the staff recommended Ali’s across the road, and it was an excellent suggestion. The food there was delicious! Overall, a great experience, and I’d definitely stay here again.

I had phoned a week earlier to ask for a room on the lower level. I was guaranteed my request and the gentleman said he would make a note to make the changes. When I arrived on Friday the clerk told me we were on the second level. I told her about my conversation on the phone and she said that could not have happened as the rooms were already booked, basically calling me a liar.
The room wasn’t the best for my wife, myself, our daughter and her partner. Went down to the front desk and although she said that the hotel was half empty there was nothing better and another room added would double the cost, already $453.00. I asked if there was any better price she could offer. No.
Then this morning checking out our daughter found two silverfish in the dresser drawer. Wow.

As a manager of a hockey team I was responsible for booking rooms at this facility for 15 different families. Upon booking I immediately notified the manager Trudy that there would be mulitple children ages 6-7 years of age. There were a total of 3 hockey teams staying at this facility all on one weekend for a big hockey tournament in town, all children ranging in age from 6-10. As we entered the lobby to check in it was apparent that 'teams' were not welcome. I was re-read the riot act regarding facility rules and had already had to sign 4 pages of hotel rules to fax back to the manager the week before 'we were allowed to book.' Not sure if the manager lives at the hotel or not but she was patrolling the halls from 0900 to 2300 each of the 3 days we were there. She demanded that I go 'room to room to obtain hotel pool towels' as there were none in the pool area itself. She treated professional people on my team like children and made threats that she would 'kick out our team' during the middle of the day. Both nights the kids and families were in their rooms by 10pm which I thought was pretty reasonable. At no time was any child or family member of our team out of control or loud. I could not even sit to have any scraps of food were left or for that fact, not even placed out for the continental breakfast in the morning. The manager constantly demanded she know when anyone was coming or going at the hotel and it was obvious she had no idea how to deal with large groups of people. As my husband stated 'IT WAS THE NICEST PRISON I HAVE EVER STAYED AT.' The owner of this chain will be contacted and made aware that he needs to replace the hotel manager if he choses to continue to be in business.

There is a lack of nice hotels on the highway close to New Liskeard. Holiday Inn abuses its situation, even if it is far from anything interesting or useful. Yes, it is nice, there is a swimming pool, breakfast in the morning, but the attitude does not fit the price range: too high for the quality of service

Passed through on business and made use of the meeting room facilities. The manager was very friendly and provided great service. Much attention to detail (things we asked for our meeting, she had already forseen... water, beverage permit etc.), made our meeting arrangements easy. The hotel is relatively new, clean and spacious. Our stay included breakfast, with standard hot and cold choices. Appreciated having access to daily newspaper and room amenities (iron etc.). I would certainly return.

My stay at this Holiday Inn Express in New Liskeard was just fine, it was the Holiday Inn Club Vacation Promotion Package that was offered to me, where I have my issue. When I booked my room directly with the Holiday Inn in New Liskeard, the gal asked me if I'd like to take advantage of a promotion that was running. She switched me offer to an agent with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The guy was a fast talker, gave me the details of a promotion, I liked what I heard, so I had them charge $248 US to my credit card for a 5 day, 4 night vacation in Las Vegas. I knew there was a 2 hour presentation that required attendance during the stay, no problem. I was also to receive $248 cash back when registering at the Las Vegas property. My intent was to give this package to my daughter and her spouse, as they had never been to Vegas, yet they qualified to attend re the salary level etc. After signing up, I received an e-mail confirmation from Holiday Inn Club Vacations with a whole lot of fine print, that was not all covered during the phone call with the agent. Non Refundable, Non Transferable, needs to be myself and my wife, not just myself, the presentation (Time Share) was not in Vegas, it was in Florida, only the presentation was in Vegas, if I do not attend, they further invoice me for the difference between the $248 I have already paid and the going rate for their Vegas property. I called Club Vacations and asked to cancel. Their answer non refundable and you cannot cancel without incurring the further rate charge. I called the Holiday Inn IHG Customer Care line, and was told there was no direct affiliation with Holiday Inn, I had to speak with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. I called the Holiday Inn in New Liskeard and was given the Holiday Inn Customer Care number, which put me back to Holiday Inn Club Vacations.
I am not interested in Time Share properties in Florida. I did not need a trip to Vegas for myself. It has been a very frustrating process trying to exit from this promotion without incurring further costs. I asked for a copy of the telephone conversation when the promotion was sold to me by their agent ( as they advise that all conversations may be recorded) did not receive anything, just that the promotion is non refundable. Obviously, this experience has left a very sour taste with me, to the point that given a choice of hotels to stay in, Holiday Inn will not be a the top of my list. The fact that this whole episode began, after booking my stay with a Holiday Inn, who subsequently transferred me over to the promotion line, has me very frustrated, as Holiday Inn Hotels claim it is a totally separate division, not affiliated with Holiday Inn Hotels, yet it was they who hooked me up with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. New hotel right off the highway heading north on highway 11.Breakfast included. Clean rooms.A local family owns many motels and hotels in New Liskeard.They also own a waterfront hotel in town which has a great location with a boardwalk and activity trail along beautiful Lk Temiskaming
They also have good restaurants close by like Roosters (waterfront) and Gillies and Zantes on the highway.

Have stayed here 3 times....suites are large clean, modern and comfortable...still new feeling...hotel has an adequate breakfast included and has a wonderful fresh scent. Very close to Walmart and a couple of restaurants within walking distance.
