amazing experience in the cabins their internet, water, electricity.
we forgot a few items at home, and they went out of their way to help us get replacements for our stay. Ron,Cheryl,Logan,Keenan and Olivia are some of the nicest people. After this unforgettable experience this will be mine and my whole family's at least twice a year vacation spot it's not just a fishing lodge but a fantastic all around all year vacation spot you will not be disappointed.

I've been going to White Pine Lodge for years and have had an excellent experience. The previous review must be speaking of another White Pine Lodge as this one does not take credit card nor are they open in November. The owners bend over backwards to accommodate your fishing experience. My father, daughter, son and nephews have had amazing fishing there every spring and summer limiting out on Walleye, we have even caught some rare blue Walleye. The pike are also plentiful as well as jumbo perch and small mouth bass. We have caught Walleye and pike right from the dock!! The cottages are clean and well maintained, the boats are in excellent working condition and it is a quiet and peaceful escape in the northern Country. We have been to many other fishing camps and White Pine Lodge is were we return every year.

I've been taking annual fishing trips with my Dad for decades, and we've been going to White Pine Lodge for five or six consecutive years. The fishing opportunities are diverse; the proprietors are the most hospitable of hosts; and the lodging is clean, comfortable, and updated. After vacationing at innumerable fishing outfits my whole life, we keep returning to White Pine because we feel at home there. I highly recommend White Pine for anyone looking to get away with family or friends.

For starters, don't ever give this lodge your credit card. They will charge you after you leave and will not respond to any calls or emails to get an explanation for the charge. Be prepared to dispute your charge.
The trip disappointed all three of us and we had to leave early. Then when the credit card charge came through, that was it. We felt obligated to warn prospective customers. What a waste of money.

This was a great Northern Ontario wilderness lodge. Lorraine and John are fantastic hosts and are working tirelessly everyday to keep it pristine. Boats, docks, cabins, are all in incredible condition and are well taken care of. We enjoyed our stay at the LOON cabin which was right on the water, private dock and incredible views. This lodge is the perfect spot for anyone seeking a northern getaway.
I feel it's fair to highlight some details that may surprise some guests and could catch you off guard and unprepared.
This is a remote, simple, wilderness lodge. Just the basics apply.
There is power to the cabins between 7pm and 10pm only. go out and enjoy the river!
Pack drinking water.
Ice is available for purchase in the tackle shop.
There are propane lights fixed to the walls for night lighting.
Fridge and Stove run on propane.
The toilets are dry composting toilets, they're not offensive at all, just not the typical flush style you're used to.
Pack essentials like garbage bags, paper towel, dish soap.
The kitchens are stocked with a wide range of basic cookware items, just don't expect a fancy garlic press or anything.
The cabins are on the opposite side of the river from where you park your vehicle.
John has a huge boat and helps you load and unload right from your trunk to your cabin.
Bring a fishfinder! You need to mark fish. There is a lot of water to cover, this will ensure you don't waste your time on a cold spot.
You must pay in CASH, no internet/data signal, no wifi, just awesome wilderness to enjoy.
Thanks Lorraine and John for an amazing week!

This charming cottage resort is located across the Montreal River from Mowat Landing.
We wanted to experience fishing/boating on the renowned Lady Evelyn Lake but were put off by the high priced American Plan (all meals provided) fishing camps on that lake. This lodge is just the other side of the dam from the lake, but we found that boats can easily cross the dam thanks to the entrepreneurs who run a boat trailer shuttle at the dam site. Cost of the shuttle was $25 round trip and takes about 5 minutes. By staying on the wrong side of the dam we paid about one-third the cost of the big name resorts. White Pine Lodge is a housekeeping resort, which enabled us to cook the fish that we caught for dinner.
Hosts, John and Lorraine, were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. They happily provided water shuttle service to the dock/parking area when we wanted to go into town for supplies and also upgraded us to a larger cabin on the waterfront that had come available.
The cabins are all log construction, and well maintained. Rustic country décor. White Pine Lodge is eco friendly, off the grid. Composting toilets in each cabin. Fridge, stove, on-demand hot water heater and auxiliary lighting are propane powered. Propane barbecue. Onsite generator provides electricity to cabins in evenings only, dusk to 10:30pm. As well as Lady Evelyn Lake there is good fishing and safe boating, no submerged hazards that are not obvious, for 80+ km on the Montreal River. White Pine Lodge was enjoyed by family groups, couples and fishing buddies during our stay.

First of all, I want to dispute the earlier negative comment. As far as I know, White Pine Lodge does not take credit cards. So, for that comment to be made, I think it is highly suspicious of being from someone who has no idea what White Pine Lodge is about. I've gone to White Pine Lodge for four straight years after spending times at other resorts. John and Lorraine, the Outfitters are very gracious and accommodating hosts. Both are hard working, and ensure that the cabins, boats, and any equipment that we have needed, were in all great condition and working order. The cabins are in great shape and the accommodations are the best I have ever stayed in. If you want a get away with the family, or a get away with your friends, I do highly recommend White Pine Lodge. Right on the Montreal River with trails leading to hidden lakes for some great Pike fishing. I have gone there only to fish, no hunting.

Just returned from a week long stay at White Pine Lodge. After 10 years of annual fishing trips to another local resort and consistently declining service my group decided to try another venue. We booked the light house cottage and two boats for our stay. The accommodations were comfortable, the boats and motors were were well kept, the scenery was beautiful and the service provided by John and Lorraine was excellent. John and Lorraine are kind, gracious hosts and do their best to ensure their guests are looked after. We caught some fish, had lots of laughs, unplugged and decompressed. A good time, in a beautiful location.

White Pine is located in a beautiful natural setting and it is peaceful. The cabins are ok. If you like being in the wilderness with few conveniences this location is enjoyable BUT there are a few things you should be aware of that were not stated until after the reservation was made.
There is no Interac to make payments. There is no Hydro available in the cabins after 10 pm. You have to park your car in a lot and leave it behind because in order to get to the cabin, you must take a boat ride that is provided by the hosts. Bring bottled water.
