Experiencing the authenticity of our historical home and suites is just a better way to stay. The President’s Suites offers you high-end accommodation in an historical home based on the concept of vacation home rental and apartment style living rather than that of a hotel. Our exceptional home is alive with a truly human warmth. We are the perfect destination for your holidays or work stay and we can even we assist you in planning and organizing your family reunion, friends gathering or a corporate stay. We are not a hotel or a bed & breakfast, we are so much more. A destination like the Presidents’ Suites does not exist elsewhere, the concept is unique. It is just a better way to stay! Our home and suites include the site of a century-old inn located on the historical Millionaire’s row in Haileybury (Temiskaming Shores), situated on the shores of Lake Temiskaming. Haileybury is a picturesque community located in Ontario and on the border of the province of Quebec. We are only a few minutes from New Liskeard and Cobalt. The vacation home rental and apartment hotel concept makes it the perfect venue for your business travels, meetings, family, friend & group reunions, weddings or weekend holidays, or simply for a place to stay during a working period in the area. Each home and suite offers distinctly unique features. Depending on what you are looking for, tranquillity, atmosphere, or convenience, we will tailor your stay to suit your needs. It is similar to renting an all-furnished home and apartment and occupants can “check-out” whenever they wish either after a one-day, a few days or a one-week stay. The concept allows our clients to do everything they would at home, such as cooking, washing, relaxing and entertaining. We offer a free continental breakfast.

Detailed Reviews
We loved the Lumber Barons’ House for our 50th wedding anniversary. Beautiful well appointed house in a great location, BBQ and spa pool very welcome.
Nicole’s tours of the local history (we did the Great Haileybury Fire and Cobalt tours) were very informative and interesting. She is a great storyteller and has worked hard to provide a real insight into the local history. She goes out of her way to ensure guests have the best possible stay and has been instrumental in organizing local “experiences” with people able to enhance your visit according to your individual interests.
The area is very scenic and historically significant. We had a great time in spite of some things being closed due to the pandemic. We would highly recommend Presidents’s Suites and look forward to staying there again.

We stayed at the Villa’s Murphy suite on the second floor. Our host Jocelyn gave clear instructions on the check-in. The suite is clean, spacious and beautifully furnished. We loved the location: walking distance to the beach, a few kilometres to grocery stores and shopping areas, not to mention the private dock, lovely yard and balcony overlooking Timiskaming lake. We were so fascinated by the books in the suite’s library. We were a group of five; we loved staying at the suite! Jocelyn was great!

This place is a gem. Well situated near the lake. We rented a three bedroom, two bathroom, full kitchen apartment. It comes well supplied with your breakfast needs, hot tub towels, a barbecue and tow decks. There was 7 of us and we were quite comfortable. We did find the outside stairway a little steep bit there is an entrance a the front of the building with easier stairway. The owner was extremely helpful and would respond to our text fairly quick. We tour a tour on the lake on his pontoon and he gave us the history of the area, he was very knowledgeable. He also owns a small island on the lake the he had us visit, it is used for glamping( modern camping). We were quite surprised with all the amenities on it. Very worth renting either, we enjoyed our three night stay and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again

Thank you very much. As you mentioned the back staircase is a bit steep - it is really the emergency exit. The main entrance is at the front of the house.

Back again for the fifth time at the Ferland Suite. We have family in the area, and it has become our home away from home. We enjoyed bike rides to New Liskeard, kayaking on the lake, hosting a family dinner and crokinole tournament. Nicole and Jocelyn make it very comfortable and easy to enjoy Timiskaming Shores.

We stayed in the Lumber Baron's House on the lower floor. It is a beautiful classic home built in 1907. It is spacious, extremely clean, well equipped and very comfortable. One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in!

This place is spectacular - I am already making excuses to go back! We stayed in the Prospectors House for one night. It is a beautifully restored house and the decor is absolutely charming. It is very spacious and would be terrific place for a family reunion, a girls weekend, a corporate event, or anything for that matter. We were a small family of 3 and it suited us just fine! The house is well equipped with everything you could ever need, hairdryers, fans, heated blankets, soaps, dishes, glassware...and even better - everything you could ever want - fluffy white robes, thick towels, comfortable furniture, fresh baking delivered to your kitchen in the morning, hand-written notes from the hosts and every essential and non-essential you could dream of. The owners have literally thought of EVERYTHING! We were blown away by the lovely house, but even more impressed with how smoothly and perfectly this operation runs. It was flawless from reservation to check-out.
I can't say enough good things about the President's Suites! It was a great stay and I look so forward to returning again in the future. I'd love to try all 8 of their suites - I know I would never be disappointed. Thank you Nicole for an absolutely perfect stay!

Just returned from a second visit to President’s Suites in Haileybury. This time we stayed in the Murphy Suite in the main Villa. This large 3 bedroom apartment has two balconies; one overlooking beautiful Lake Temiskaming and another larger balcony with a propane BBQ and large table and chairs for al fresco dining. The kitchen is fully outfitted and stocked with breakfast items including eggs, bagels, pancake mix and maple syrup, milk, cream, juices and fruit. Also coffee and a variety of teas and jams. AND freshly-baked pastries are delivered each morning! Nicole and Jocelyn are wonderful hosts, easily accessible and so accommodating… above and beyond the expected! I will happily return to President’s Suites, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

We spent a week at the President’s Suites in Haileybury and it was terrific! We stayed in the Guest House, a lovely 3 bedroom house (2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 on lowest level) with a wonderful view of Lake Temiskaming. The cost was more than reasonable. Two decks, one with a BBQ and the other with a hot tub. The house was very comfortable, private and spacious, with a full kitchen (including dishwasher and soap) and all amenities (including washer and dryer, with soap!). We arrived to a fridge extremely well stocked with milk, cream, eggs, butter, bagels, bread, maple syrup, pancake mix, fruit and an assortment of juices. Pantry items included coffee, an assortment of teas (including gourmet David’s teas!) jams, peanut butter, sugar, salt and pepper and some spices. We were amazed! And every morning a basket of freshly baked goods arrived… still warm!
Nicole and Jocelyn are wonderful and attentive hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed. It was as comfortable as being at home. We spent a busy 7 days exploring the area which is rich with local history as well as being an absolutely beautiful part of the country. We visited the Cobalt Mining Museum (and did an underground tour of a local mine) and the Haileybury Heritage Museum. Everyone we encountered were incredibly nice and helpful. We also visited the Bunker (war) museum and took a trip to Ville Marie across the border into Quebec and attended a local gourmet fair that took place on the weekend. Further along the road in Quebec is Fort Temiskaming, a 17th century trading post which is a National Historic site and a fascinating glimpse into the very hard life of the voyageurs.
OK I’ve gone on too long, but I have absolutely no hesitation recommending the President’s Suites for anyone looking for a getaway, be it short or long. We will go back.

WOW! Laurie, we need you to become a blogger for Northern Ontario and the Suites. Thanks you for taking time to give a thorough description of the amenities at the Suites but also what there is to do in the region. Lake Temiskaming is a beautiful region and I'm glad you had a chance to explore the sides of the lake. The proximity to Quebec (25 minutes), give tourist a added value on their visit, especially if they stay more than 2 nights. For the shorter stay, it's always an option to come up or return on the Quebec side. It only adds approximately 1 to 2 hours depending if you are going towards Ottawa or Toronto. Looking forward to spending more time with you on your next visit. Nicole

What a way to spend the week away on business!
It was like coming home to your own apartment, but with FOOD in the fridge!
There was a fireplace to make the suite extra comfy, and hand knitted slippers as well.
They have just started a new programme that I was lucky enough to be able to experience....instead of having to go out to a restaurant once you've tucked in for the night (especially in bad weather) you can now purchase everything from meat pies,to quiches,to chili, and desserts as well(think brownies) and STAY in and relax in your suite.Brilliant idea for business folks that have had enough of eating out.
Some of their suites are big enough that you can entertain your clients in your suite and they will even organize a chef to do the cooking!
I will definitely be telling friends and family about my stay here.

Thank you for such a wonderful review. We've been thinking of developing this concept of Gourmet Basket for the past year. We've worked hard to identify local suppliers that had a high quality product which would meet our clients' needs of staying in the comfort of their suites. We are thrilled to see your reaction to our new product. Thank you for sharing your experience with our future guests. It's this type of feedback from our clients that motivate us to think of new product and services. Merci!

+1
The Presidents’ Suites is a grouping of several properties in Haileybury Millionaires’ Row, all lovingly renovated and preserved by the owner Nicole. We recently enjoyed a three night stay at the Ferland Suite in the Villa which exceeded our expectations by far. The suite has over 1300 square feet living space which occupies the full first floor of the historic home along with a huge front porch with a lovely lake view and garden. There are kayaks and bicycles available and there is also a private dock across the street from the Villa.
The kitchen was fully equipped and stocked with ample dry goods and breakfast items to start your day. We were also more than impressed by the cleanliness of the property inside and out.
Nicole is an excellent host who made us feel more than welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. She and Jocelyn are extremely knowledgeable and were happy to assist with information about the area.
They have recently opened a Bistro on the main street which provides high quality fresh drinks and lighter fare. As much care has gone into this endeavour as the Suites. We enjoyed a couple of meals there also.
Thank you for the great stay!
