We stayed as a family in one of the very spacious cabanas, self catering. This was a perfect blend of seaside cottage, with all the self service amenities and a Weber to braai on the deck (that was a treat), we could also sit down for drinks and a full menu option at the on site restaurant.

The food was great, location was great for walking to the River mouth and the small village of Haga haga, we also used it as stepping stone to roam to the other seaside villages and to cross the Kei River by means of a ferry.

The restaurant food was well priced and very tasty. The staff all very welcoming.

Wonderfully calm and relaxing accomodation. There were very few other guests so we had a nice quiet time but I think it can be a bit crowded in the self-catering section when all the cabanas are full.
The views are great! Beautiful, neat garden. Stone’s throw away from tidal pool ans shell beach.
We had an amazing holiday but small things in the cabana can be better- tap in kitchen was broken, stove not working properly and bathrooms in need of a good scrub!
We will however recommend this hotel!
Just love HagaHaga!!

After 35 years decided to visit this hidden wild coast gem again. Arrived on Christmas eve and had the most delicious Christmas dinner with the hotel manager/ owner as host. One of the best dinners we had in a long time. Had a 1st class seafood platter to following evening for dinner as we were booked for Dinner, Bed and breakfast. Needless to say breakfast was top notch.
Hotel rooms with small deck opens to a neat garden and view of the breakers and tidal pool, smell of the ocean and view of endless beaches.
Clean well equipped rooms, but would suggest management to add a small bar fridge to non self catering rooms. Bathroom comes with shower and bath , towels and soap.
Will be back.

The location right on the beach is the selling point of this hotel, and we really enjoyed the time we had there. Just a couple incidences were not handled with care, my husband is allergic to peanuts, and we did advise them, however they did not tell us there was peanut butter in the butternut soup, so we ended up at a hospital in East London for the evening, nobody from the hotel asked how he was after that, not one ounce of concern. The seafood buffet evening on Saturday, we were squashed in the middle of all the tables and could hardly move, so all in all not impressed with service, but would recommend the hotel.

The rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was a bit small but adequate.
The view from the room was breathtaking.
Dinner, from a pre-prepared menu with a wide choice was well prepared. The chef also visited the tables to ensure everybody was satisfied. Breakfast was way above the usual, really outstanding variety of delicious items to choose from.
The owner was very involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel and was not above removing empty plates from the table. Wendy at reception was also particularly helpful.

Places is so beautiful.
And that's all what you may appreciate. Managements of the hotel, unbelievable!!! We been so disappointed by the behaviour of the leading persons, which was clearly very disrespectful to their regular workers. We witnessed racism as to their staff as to some of our guest on our own wedding. We been treated with disrespect and overlook.
Never experienced such a behaviour from the "hotel" to their customers.

Only plus was a "local" workers, such a bartenders, housekeepers and cooks, who was nice and warm all the time.

Never again!

HagaHaga is a wonderful place to visit and the location of this hotel is great. The problem is that the hotel and the self catering chalets are advertised together. Whereas the hotel staff take absolutely zero responsibility for the self catering chalets, they literally just hand out the keys without even checking the person who booked. The access gate also does not work, making it very difficult to access the property at night time. We had to make it work, as we were there for an importing family wedding. But we were disappointed.

A truely unbelievable experiences for all the wrong reasons.
I was blow away by the complete disregard of customer service and zero regard for child friendliness.
I love animals but the spaniel pooing in the bar was too much for me. Followed by sympathy for the spaniel and not the guests down who were wind of the smell, which I had to ask twice to be cleaned up.
Don't expect supporting the establishment to count for anything... After 3 nights of expensive dinner and bar bills the owners would not allow us to use their wifi and so we left, never to return again!
And don't expect to sit next to the fire or TV, those spots are reserved for the owners and their pooping spaniel, both of who don't like children!

Dinner was very good and staff very friendly. Decor is dated and only instant coffee available in rooms and lounge. Cappuccino is available during dinner service. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh crumpets and scones.

The room was in a great position at the hotel. looking out to sea from the SE corner of the building and affording a 240 degree view along the coast and out to sea.
Restaurant and bar facilities are great, leading out onto a deck overlooking the shoreline.
Access to the hotel is along a reasonably well maintained dirt road.

Hi The hotel is 26km from the N2. Of that, 15km is dirt road once you turn off the R349. The dirt road is in reasonable condition, and is fine for a normal car.
