The Indaba Hotel garners appreciation for its clean rooms and serene gardens, along with a vibrant atmosphere enhanced by natural sounds, live music, and elegant decor. Despite some criticisms of amenity upkeep and a location that can be noisy for some, the hotel's spacious rooms offer comfort. While dining options and the tranquil Mowana Spa earn praise, opinions on value and room service vary. However, the friendly and helpful staff, particularly within the spa and dining areas, consistently receive accolades from guests.

We booked a Spa and one night Stay at the Indaba Hotel. We had a great time. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the reception staff
The room was equipped with all the necessities including facecloth and a coffee machine. The windows was facing the courtyard which was a bit noisy in the morning. The Epsom buffet breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of food.

From the beginning of our visit we found the staff welcoming and eager to help in any way.
The band that was playing was excellent and the outdoor lunch delicious with the waiter being a breath of fresh air with his attention to detail.
The rooms were sizable and very comfortable and the rose petals and elephant towels a lovely touch.
The evening meal was absolutely delicious and the therapists were fantastic!!!!!
Morning breakfast was wide spread and very tasty.
Booking out took minutes with big smiles and friendly service.
Overall a wonderful visit which by no means will be my last.

If there was an option for 4 and a half stars I would select that. We went for the Jazz Sunday brunch at Epsom. Oh my word. Service on point, something for just about every palate. Bottomless filter coffee and bubbly (they do tick against your name every time you get a glass, so not sure if that's for deciding you have had enough or for budget purposes:)) There were dry and semi sweet choices.

The half star is for one or two very minor missing items. There were no mushrooms at the grill, which would have been a lovely vegetarian option. We didn't see any capers at the salmon, which was kind of like a mousse. Brie or Camembert would have been nice on the cheese board, with some preserves and strawberries and blueberries, which are in season now. Whole nuts flaxseed and sunflower seeds would have been good too, there were pumpkin and sesame seeds and flaked almonds.

The griller was amazing - it's not often my husband gets his eggs just as he asks for them - barely cooked.

What was also fabulous were the vegetable juices - we had the green and beetroot and ginger ones.

I can't wait to bring my family to this venue, when they come to visit. My son is an eggs Benedict addict, hopefully if we give enough notice, they can rustle it up for him.

There was also live music, which was very pleasant and not distracting.

Don't fill yourself on the breakfast, a bit later they bring out salads, and fish dishes. And there is pudding too!

Forgot my phone in the car, so couldn't take good photos. All in all, a great experience!

Stayed over for 1 night with my husband as a birthday spoil. Mowana spa was amazing but the stay over wasn't so amazing. We wanted to make some coffee only to find the kettle was dirty inside and and con webs, the cups were stained like they have never been washed before. Even though it was a room for 2 people. The room seemed prepared for one person as there was 1 bath towel, 1 spoon, 1 coffee and sugar. The room walls are so thin we could hear a couple next door having sex, dreadful.. and lastly the pills were so high it felt like I was sleeping in the sky. Terrible experience. Wouldn't suggest the place at all.

On a recent trip to South Africa this was our final hotel stop before the flight back to the UK from Tambo Airport Johannesburg.

The first thing about this hotel/conference centre is it is massive with many multiple blocks of almost motel style buildings, a large conference hall/music facility and multiple places to eat and drink.

The rooms are very well appointed and sized, beds are comfortable and the food at one of the on site restaurants/bars is very nice. They were very accomodating of my request to have some plain chicken owing an upset stomach. A nice gesture.

We were also allcated a very hearty breakfast before our departure to the airport.

A great place to stay, just wish had spent at least one more night in the hoetl and Johannesburg

I stayed at Indaba in early November as a solo traveler ( and again in December with family). The stay was comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the meals were tasty. The grounds are also lovely with lots of birdlife and extensive gardens/grounds. Treat yourself to a treatment at the spa while you are there - it is well worth it.
The shuttle to Fourways Mall is an added bonus, and for any other transfers I can highly recommend Boyang Gape - the tours and transfer company based at the hotel.
I would happily recommend Indaba to other travelers ( and I look forward to coming back to try the wine tasting and gin making)

The rooms that comes standard with the night spa package needs some attention as the carpets causes an overwhelming stench. The twin rooms were much better although only an underlining smell present which i believe is due to the room being carpeted only half way. the tiles creates a much more clean and hygenic feel.

As usual, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed an excellent well priced night out, including massages by experienced and friendly staff, a good dinner with drinks and a buffet breakfast as part of the package. Although the accommodation is a little dated, it is well maintained and clean. Staff service is way above expectation.

The most delicious food can be enjoyed in all of the restaurants on the property. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the tranquility of the gardens and bird life makes you feel as if you are out in the countryside. The staff are so friendly. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay indeed.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks for making my recent stay at Indaba truly memorable. This was our second visit, and this time, the staff and management went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, despite my short stay. From the special meals arranged to the comfortable room and the always-friendly service, I truly felt valued as a guest.

It’s the kind of hospitality that makes me certain I will return again in the future. Thank you for making our experience so special.

Our Chiefs Boma is an informal dining restaurant and knee length shorts are more than acceptable. Epsom Bistro is a little more formal and long pants with collared shirts are required
