I enjoyed the cottage-like atmosphere, comfy feel, and lovely garden, but mostly the gentleness and friendliness of the staff. Thank you for welcoming our rabbits, Freja and Trident. At $20 extra for each rabbit, we felt this was reasonable and kind.
This was the worst place to stay in Hope BC. The room was sprayed with Febreeze or some other toxic chemical and it aggravated my throat. I had to cover the sheets with clothing and wear a sweat shirt to bed to hide the smell on the sheets. The charge for a dog friendly room was 20. The carpet stunk as well. My daughter stayed in another room and the bathroom door would not close. The smell in her room was disgusting as you could smell vomit. I think Trip advisor should warn people about the disgusting conditions of this place. The Health Unit should shut it down
I stayed here last night room 127 Aug 6th was a work trip coming back from Edmonton as a truck driver I needed a place quick, the owner was very friendly and helpful but one BIG problem went to bed at around 10pm to wake up to something biting me so jumped up and saw 2 bed bugs I’m sure there is much more I immediately had a shower and got out of there Highly recommend not to stay here unless you want BED BUGS
My husband and I booked an overnight there on July 15. We often stop in Hope when travelling between Alberta and Van Isl. We were booked into one of the heritage cabins. About 5 minutes after we had settled into the couch to watch some tv and have a snack from our cooler a mouse came scurrying out from the kitchen into the main sitting area. $190/night and the place had mice. I slept in my vehicle. And as a bit of extra info the interior of the cabin was much as you might expect from a highway style motel....everything looked like it was from the 1980's and there was a musty smell.
You can't miss it as it's right on the main drag coming in to Hope. I'm not picky when it comes to accommodations ,and every once in a while I crave time travel motels, so I expected a lot of character (was secretly hoping for it). Was not disappointed :) Lucked out with a detached cabin so I could literally pull right up to unpack. Upon opening the door I was greeted with the sweet musky smell of old wood :) Decor was as expected (floral), shower was hot, pressure was good, and the usual soaps were provided. TV worked, free wi-fi,fridge,microwave,large dining room table,A/C (didn't use), and baseboard heating. So basically anything you need for a short or longer stay. Desk staff was friendly and helped me out with recommendations for breakfast! Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, and fair warning the room was a tad drafty (there's a spare blanket in the closet). Overall I'd stay here again*…
