The Alberni Valley's finest accommodation, serving business and leisure travelers alike with exceptional value in elegant surroundings. At the 4-star Cedar Wood Lodge, you will enjoy a unique and tasteful blend of old and new. Nestled into two and one-half acres of heritage gardens and old-growth cedars along the scenic Somass River in Port Alberni, British Columbia, the Cedar Wood Lodge, built new in 1998, is furnished with modern comforts and beautiful antiques. The spacious guest lounge encompasses a fine billiards table, two small libraries, a relaxing sitting area, fireplace, and garden view bistro dining room where the complimentary daily breakfast buffet is served. The delicious and nutritious breakfast includes a selection of fresh fruit, yogurts,home-baked breads, muffins, scones, croissants and coffee cakes, and home-made granolas and jams and hot oatmeal. Beverages include a variety of chilled fruit juices, milk, freshly ground premium French-pressed Arabica coffee, and a generous selection of the finest teas from around the world.
Cedar Wood Lounge is a nice bed and breakfast with a friendly older landlady and lord. Rooms are large, nice garden. Breakfast is served as small intercontinental buffet with e. g. fresh bread, yoghurt, handmade muffins (packet in plastic bags …🤔), but no warm breakfast (like scrambled eggs or similar) is offered - B&B is relative experience so I had expected a bit more for breakfast

My husband and I stayed at Cedar Wood last week for 2 nights. Wished we could have stayed longer. Our hosts were friendly, helpful in giving advise on local attractions, and determined to ensure all was perfect for our stay. The property is lovely (wished we had time to enjoy the outdoors more) and our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. We had access to a small refrigerator, coffee machine, water, and a small sitting room on the second floor. We didn't take advantage of the main floor living room (with a pool table!) as we were out hiking and seeing the sights for most of the day. We were provided a delicious continental breakfast with a great variety of food (yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice, fresh baked goods, coffee/tea) The hosts made themselves available during breakfast asking us what our plans were and offering tips on where to go and what to see. They truly care about their customers and have created a wonderful B&B experience that you should try when you are in the Port Alberni area.…

We came into Port Alberni after a long drive only to find that most of the rooms were booked with a convention and the Cops for Cancer crew. But after the assistance of the Best Western staff we are able to find a room at the Cedar Wood Lodge. What a beautiful place and the owners made us feel welcomed. I highly recommend staying there.

We actually were visiting Nanamino, but stayed here because it looked interesting on line. We were glad we did. This is about 45-60 minutes from Namamino but there were a lot of interesting things to see along the way. Goats on a Roof, Cathedral Cedar Forest, Waterfalls ect... The Lodge is very clean, and the owners are very friendly and helpful to points of interest in the area. Good hub spot if you are traveling to N. Vanc. Island. Rooms are good size, good wifi, flat screens, full bathrooms. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with fresh baked pastries, oatmeal, granola, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. I would stay here again for sure!

I loved our stay at the Cedar Wood Lodge B&B. The room and bathroom were immaculate. The couple that ran the place were super friendly and full of helpful information. The house itself was lovely, and the breakfast spread was perfect. I'd definitely stay again if we end up back in Port Alberni.

We were given a warm welcome by Tom and given instructions about our room, breakfast, use of the internet and whirlpool tub. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. We were grateful for the air conditioner and ceiling fan as the weather was very warm. We enjoyed the coffee/tea station in the upstairs sitting area. Breakfast was an extensive continental meal – 3 kinds of juice; coffee/tea/hot chocolate; fresh fruit cup; cereals and a variety of fresh muffins and scones with homemade jams. After the first morning, Tom knew us by name and knew our breakfast preferences for beverages. We enjoyed talking to the other couple at our table at breakfast and had a good time hiking the various trails in the Port Alberni area. Don't miss Cathedral Grove!

Our group of 10, family and friends visiting from Australia and BC, spent two nights at the Cedar Wood Lodge. Couldn't have picked better accommodation. The hosts were very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was provided early since we booked the day trip on the MV Frances Barkley. The Lodge and surroundings are very well maintained and the gardens lush and green. The rooms were spacious and spotless. It was great to come back at the end of the day and be able to utilize the living room with pool table. The location is perfect a little away from the city center but within a short driving distance to all amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will head back there again.

This was a great place to stay. It was very clean, comfortable & quiet. Marla & Tom were very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, interested in what we were wanting to see & do. The breakfast selection was awesome, the homemade coffee cakes, muffins, etc. were great & there were 3 selections for juice! The decor was very warming & relaxing. The yard & garden were very pleasant as well. The jetted bath tub was awesome too!! The silent ceiling fan was very good as we could leave it on at night.

Very welcoming hosts. Room was pleasant and the garden great for sitting in. Breakfast was a little on the light side, but there was plenty of fruit juice and coffee. Got chocolate was served in a tea pot which was a nice touch. Would be happy to stay there again if in the area.

Port Alberni is a surprise gem in itself, and the Cedar Wood Inn and Lodge is even more of a gem! The inn is on the west side of the town and situated on the Somass River. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and brimming with flowering azaleas and rhododendrons. The largest rhododendron tree on Vancouver Island is located here, and is over 120 years old. The grounds have numerous sitting areas to enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of the gardens. Inside the lodge is just as charming. The home is decorated with antique pieces and well-appointed. The delightful breakfast nook is set up like a French bistro. Breakfast is superb: homemade scones and muffins, a variety of fresh fruit or fruit cups, yogurt and granola, cereals, and a variety of fruit juices. There is a sitting room on the second floor where the rooms are located, where you can access coffee, tea, and water any time of the day. Books, puzzles, and DVDs are available to guests, and a small balcony offers another quiet space to enjoy. Billiards tables are on the main floor. My room was comfortable, and the jetted tub a pleasant surprise. Hosts Marla and Tom are so gracious and welcoming, and are a wealth of information on the property, Port Alberni, and the attractions on the West Coast. My only regret in leaving was that I only had one night to enjoy their company and the inn. I look forward to returning!…
