I was about to book at this motel and decided to contact them to get the details of the pet policy since it seemed vague. I certainly cannot afford this place on my trip to the East coast. I have 3 tiny 5 pound dogs and they want $15 each dog, non refundable plus $60 damage deposit which I have to wait to get back after a room inspection. Since I hit the road at 5 AM when I travel and don't think I would ever see the deposit back, it works out to over a $100 more for my 3 dogs, why don't they just offer to rent me a dog room, would be cheaper. That is ridiculous! Always ask first when you travel with dogs folks.

Again, let us be reasonable with our expectations, when paying $70.00 CDA for a motel room. Is this a good place for this amount? Absolutely. The location is awesome, 15 kms out of Montreal on the south shore, right on the canal. It is only a short drive to most of what makes Montreal awesome to visit. Staff here are outstanding, as the front-desk lady was lovely and friendly. The room is interesting, and feels and looks like an old cabin. No carpet, thank goodness. There is a sitting area with couch and table, along with a microwave and fridge. The bed in our room was tucked perhaps too tightly against the wall, and was very soft. The bathroom was also jammed in beside the bed area, but inside was clean and serviceable. The room was absolutely toasty when required, as there are baseboards everywhere, needed because Montreal's winters are terribly cold. The room was very quiet, too. The flaws? Okay, it is tight, and furniture is dated. The t.v. is very good; however, it is easily the most complex process to make it work. Seriously. Despite copious notes provided in the room, we had many problems. Maybe it is complicated to make it harder to access the free adult channels. Which brings us to the 'hourly' rate of the motel, or whatever the half-price rate is for, displayed on their sign. This didn't trouble us, but others might take offense; like the adult channel access, as noted in other reviews. We couldn't care less. Welcome to Montreal! Prices rise slightly in summer, apparently, but with appropriate expectations, this place is a good deal. We will return.

This place is more than what you'd expect on the cheap. Sure, it's got an old TV, but it has free WiFi. The room we had didn't reek of old cigarettes or mold, either. The proprietor is friendly & accommodating. It's hardly luxurious, but the room was well-appointed and the bathroom had a nice PORCELAIN sink, shiny clean. But the real biggie is the wonderful little riverside park with chairs, tables, and a small rotunda at the end of the street! We bought some sandwiches & beverages at the local IGA & spent a lovely quiet two hours having our picnic & watching the lights come up from the city as the sun went down. A friendly orange cat came by for a visit, and some ducks went swimming by. It was time well-spent. We've never in 45 years had such an amenity at a hotel/motel! An added local feature is a nearby Costco- about a mile away. Nice for travelers !

Stayed here to try and avoid a snow storm. It didn't work but the place was clean and quite. No issues checking in or out. TV was left on a porn channel but I wasn't travelling with kids so it didn't bother me. I'd stay here again.
