Thanx to everyone who made our stay special. Good night's rest, friendly service and quaint little town. Will definitely stop here again if ever back in the area. Thus far South Africa has been very friendly and welcoming.

I drove with my wife and kids from Sandton to our family in Plett, Colesburg was full so we took the next town. Middelburg, although small has the most guesthouses i have seen in 10 minutes!!!

I stopped at the hotel and could not leave fast enough, up the road 100m away, I found a establishment called The Stables B&B.

WOW, what an unexpected friendly, and professional team I encountered. The time was 12pm (Evening) I called and the manager on duty namely Johann had me booked in 5 minutes flat.

I took the family unit and was definately undercharged, I would have paid double the money for what I recieved.

The room was clean to my wife's standards (Which is very High)
The Bedding was clean and crisp.
The Bath was old fashioned but very charming and comfortable.
Towels where clean and enough for the whole family of 4.
The WIFI was Free and very fast (Thanks)

In the morning however we had run out of milk, there was no more milk, this is the only problem i had, and it is the only thing that must be addressed - in their defense we did drink the 1lt milk that was provided at booking in.

I will come back, and i know my family would like to come back also, as it was a lovely affordable overnight stay.

Keep up the good work.

Stables B&B - what a great find! We received a very warm welcome (despite our late arrival) from our hosts (Michael and Johan) who were happy to stay up late and chat with us over a few beers. Room was clean, tidy and equipped with all the essentials. Breakfast was amazing. Would happily return.

We booked for three nights and paid the full amount in advance. On arrival there was a man without a shirt drinking hard liquor out front! The service was appalling as there were at first no staff to assist. When finally taken to the room, the beds were not made (see photos), the bathrooms were in a state and the entire place felt unhygienic. This accommodation was booked for our Area Manager and we had to find another place to stay as he could not possibly sleep at The Stables. The Stables has since dodged our phone calls and are refusing to refund us any of our money. Avoid this place at all costs.

The rooms were very pleasant upon first view, however the bathtub is in a bad state, the toilet seat is loose, the kitchenette tap is completely loose, the crib's mattress was so uneven that we had to let our baby sleep with us, we had to use tissues as the toilet paper provided was too little, the whole room was filled with mosquitoes, guests were noisy when they checked in during the night and had to squeeze past our car with their luggage. Overall the rooms are fine, but maintenance is seriously lacking. The service upon our arrival was not the best either. We would consider staying there again, but would first want to see that maintenance is done.

Stayed here last night was really a very pleasant surprise. We where very walmly welcomed the manager even opened for us at 2 am which in my opinion is excellent service. We where provided with their Boere breakfast and we'll let me just say it was fantastic. I will tell my family and friends about this place. Very very good.

Lovely Place to stay, good clean and affordable, HIGHLY recommended. This establishment is a Hidden Gem, the quality of food in their restaurant is also truly out of this world, will most definitely return next year.

Thanks so much for the great service and attention to detail.
