When we told relatives that we'd be staying over in Middelburg, EC, on our trip to the Western Cape, we were fore warned, lovingly of course. 'You don't want to do that's They said. 'It's a dry, dusty, one street town and there's nothing to see...' Well, we took our chances, and were we surprised at the oasis that awaited us when we arrived! The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. A very comfortable bed and a nice hot shower was all we wanted. We got all that and more! A wonderful little restaurant with a fully stocked bar, a garden to meander through, a swimming pool (in pristine condition) and to top it off, friendly and helpful staff. Error was our first point of contact, then Nicolene, who checked us in, our waitress for dinner, and finally the owner, herself took some time to have a friendly chat with us the following morning at breakfast. Breakfast has options, options and more options. We absolutely recommend staying over at Celtis Country Lodge and we plan to stay over any time we're doing that route again. Thank you for a great experience!

Lovely lodge. The room was spotless, big shower, very comfy bed. The place looked very inviting from outside and was like a mini resort. We ate a decent dinner in the restaurant (the staff were very friendly and attentive) plus the prices were very reasonable. We were very impressed by the garden surrounding the pool, fairy lights everywhere so it looked very inviting at night and in daylight it was also very nice. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a well maintained, value for money place. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay there. My only suggestion is get rid of the citronella lamp. It smoked so badly we had to open the door and all windows to try get rid of the smoke. Rather put something safer in the room for mozzies. I did raise this with the lady at the desk who said the wick was too long. Personally I think it is hazardous. Other than that, it is excellent value for money, with lovely food and attractive rooms.

On arrival we were met by the manageress on duty who was extremely friendly and helpful. She showed us to our rooms and explained where everything was, very efficient We ate both evenings in the hotel restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food. The waitress was well informed and nothing was too much trouble for her. We asked to swop items around from the menu and again she accommodated us. I would definitely recommend the place and we will be visiting again with out a doubt. The swimming pool looked very inviting

We arrived late at night. Ordered our food from restaurant before arrival. Lamb stew was a feast as was breakfast. Clean en-suite room with coffee and tea fascilities, large extra-length bed, bedside lamps, everything you might need. Restaurant with bar is just okay. No atmosphere but we just there to eat and get to bed. Outside area is beautiful with pool and childrens playground. For this price, very nice breakfast included, we will book it again! Thank you! Just book a room! 😃
