The reception was warm, welcoming, and the hosts really care about their guests. There was milk and lovely rusks, with the touch of a bouquet fresh flowers. Everything was exactly as advertised, so we highly recommend rooidam cottages as a great stay-over destination.

We had a wonderful time. We went as a caravan stand, but we chose the cottage once we were there. The pricing is affordable. André was helpful and very friendly. The stands are clean. The cottage JanFrederik was on the small side but catered to every single need. Beds are comfy, and more than enough blankets. The Coffee station was stocked, all the glasses you need. Thank you

Wonderful farm family-run accommodation. Cute quirky little cottage - very clean.
Hospitality was warm and inviting and a very peaceful environment.
It was a very welcome stopover on our way to Upington.
Good walks and excellent camping facilities if you want to camp.
The owners interact with their guests and were obviously very hospitality orientated.

Olyf Cottage is cosy and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. Enough beds for the whole family. Very welcoming hosts. Highly recommend as a stopover close to N12. Campsites are also neat and tidy, each with its own kitchen area and bathroom.

Lovely accommodation though not very spacious kitchen and living area. Beds were comfortable and chalet had all the required amenities. Rustic country home feeling with a relaxing environment.

Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Property had a lovely pool, and grounds were expansive. We saw meerkats on the property which was also great.

Unfortunately we experienced load shedding twice on the day that we stayed over. The accommodation had no back up generator and the water pressure reduced significantly as a result.

Great accommodation for one night pit stop.

My wife and I and our teenage son booked in at Bloubos unit in transit through the Karoo. Great value and very comfortable after a long day in the car. The dinner we had - venison pie - was excellent. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

We loved our stay. Very friendly owners, stunning property to walk around on and stretch your legs. Very conveniently situated for travel between Victoria West and Britstown. The chalet was so pretty and comfortable. We'll be back!

Had an overnight stay at Rooidam on a long drive from Hermanus to Botswana. Very nice. simple but very comfortable farm accommodation. Great location just off the N12. Friendly hosts. Would have liked to stay longer to get some experience of a working Karoo farm. Maybe next time!

Great service, nice surroundings. Abundant birdlife. Clean and neat. Caring hosts. Security good. Typical Karoo country with lovely views. Old family sheep farm with legacy of a bygone era. Comprehensive birdlists and also animal list. Halfway between Gauteng, Cape Town George and Upington.

You have to travel about 900 meters of dirt/gravel farm road. Just take it slow. Lovely quiet place with barbeque area at each unit. Old style farm stay but every thing you need for one night or longer stays. Beautiful sunsets and comfortable beds. Typical Karoo farm views all around and lovely for walks in the veld. Good for birding too.
