My wife and I stayed at the Sahary Al Ula Resort for a night in January of 2022. Would I recommend this resort to a friend? Yes. Would I stay their again knowing what I know now about the resort? Yes. This would not be my first recommendation to stay in Al Ula. However it will do if you need a place to stay. The hotel is quite rustic. We stayed in a stand alone room which was not heated. Also, there was no phone to call the front desk if you needed something. The bathroom was dirty and old lookin. Breakfast that was included with the room was surprisingly good. Agreement manager and tourleader for breakfast at 6:30. Staff kitchen lazy and not welwilling. I never come back in this hotel. They are not ready for western tourists. I'm very sad after thus experience.
I should say one word for its location AWESOME. Perched far in the interior surrounded by big boulder size rocks, it gives the impression of being in the Grand Canyon of the US. The resort is spread over a large area with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Staff are polite and helpful. The highlight of the hotel is the dinner location, which is again surrounded by huge rocks and well lit up with flood lights thrown on the rocks and laser lights all over. Seating is both table and chairs or low sofa with centre table, depending how you want to relax and have your meal. Dinner time is totally romantic. I can recommend this place anytime.
First - we were there only for lunch, so I can't judge other amenities. The location offers amazing views, a better access road would be an advantage. The restaurant, the food, the service, ... everything was excellent, delicious, very kind and professional staff. The Chef personally surveils it, joins the guests for conversation / information if needed. A very unique experience.
For a 6 years old resort, I was disappointed - Room is basic - I had a broken shower set - Gym is dirty with broken equipments - Pool was dirty and not a place where you want to swim - Breakfast is very basic It has between mountains a restaurant and a cafe which looks a nice and would be a lovely place if the weather is cold Ow considering that you are visiting Al Ula for tourism which will make you spend less time in the resort, then it should be fine But things should be better as it is one of the other 3 resorts in all Al Ula
