Beautiful setting on the Vaal river with lush green grass and lots of trees. Nice aircon in the bedroom. We stayed here for 3 days with family. Bedding is very nice. Not really geared for self catering. On their website they say guests can order rooster koeke from the restaurant. We did. And was shocked to be charged R160 for 8....

Visited this beautiful lodge on our way from Cape Town. It is a water resort with many activities. My family and I enjoyed our stay and it is very good for the children, so many fun things for them to do activities for them. The restaurant is nice, beautiful view of the river and clean and the waitresses are very...

We stayed at Broadwater River Estate in September 2015. The accommodation was not to bad, but the food terrible. My 6 year old son ordered fish fingers for dinner. The fish fingers were off. Terrible taste and smell. My husband ordered a salad with his meal, but he never received it. The breakfast was shocking. Two eggs, ONE small piece...

We enjoyed a really relaxed time at Broadwater for 2 evenings. We stayed in one of the King, double rooms. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with a wonderful view of the river. Will really recommend for a peaceful time..

A great, quiet place close to Dougles, nested in fabulous nature. Situated over the river Vaal, close to its confluence with Orange river. We liked our accommodation with tea&coffee making facilties, fridge A/C, TV, wifi and a tub in the bathroom. Outside a 'braai', of couse (B-B-Q). The only point we really didn't like was the toilet right behind the...

If you are in the Kimberley, or Douglas areas - in South Africa's Northern Cape province - remember to stop off at Broadwater - on the banks of the Vaal River. It is a photographers paradise! With tons of beautiful birdlife, African sunsets and varied vegetation. Remember to get a fishing licence and some freshwater fishing equipment! Apparently there are...
