Beachcomber was a fantastic stay for our family. Right on the Lake! Easy access. Maintenance was on hand daily to deal with the heavy snow and ice challenges...to keep it safe. Highly recommend. I would stay again.

Very nice unit with full kitchen, comfortable furniture and views plus direct lake access that cannot be best. Clean, well maintained. It is within a ten minute drive to state line and four casinos, but we were very happy to spend time on our patio enjoying the splendid view. Our unit had direct access to the beach, a 15 foot or so distance. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely look forward to a return visit

Amazing view and close to central South Lake Tahoe city but feels away from crowds. Next to property is a crowded beach but did not feel like that while we stayed. Only issue is must deal with stairs with elevator only available for passengers. But property personnel helped us Seniors aged with luggage.

I had a mixed experience at the Beachcomber.

The good: The view was as advertised, which was great. The room, carpeting, furnishings, etc.in Unit R were reasonably updated (not as outdated as some other reviews had indicated.) If we'd stayed longer, the efficiency kitchen would have been nice.

The bad:
The "one queen bed" was a murphy bed which broke when my bf sat on the end of it. (We weren't even engaged in any sort of fun adult activities, which would have at least made a better story!) I don't mind murphy beds, but I prefer to know in advance when the room I'm booking doesn't have a real bed. We ended up pulling the mattress off of the frame and sleeping on it on the floor.

Hotels.com (where I booked) listed the check-in time as 4-9pm. We arrived at 5:30 and the office was closed. It turns out that the office is only open from 9-5 Sun-Thurs, which functionally makes check-in 4-5pm. One is supposed to arrange in advance an "after hours check in" if arriving after 5pm. I wish this information had been listed on the website or emailed to me.

Check out time is 10am. If I had known this before I booked, I probably would have booked elsewhere. Unless you're a morning person, staying here in December means you won't get to enjoy the view at all, since you can't check-in until sunset and have to leave right away in the morning. Bummer.

At check out, the (friendly) woman in the office said she didn't know how to print a receipt because they were such a small business and most people don't ask for one. Five days later, still no receipt.

The shower was tiny. It was maybe 3'x3'?

All in all, it would have been a better experience if I had been given all of the necessary info in advance. I could have booked somewhere much nicer for the same price. In the winter or for a one-night stay, I'm not sure that the view is worth it.

It has a spectacular view on the lake. the room very comfortable . It includes all electrical appliances. It has room and sofa bed for two people . It has parking and pool. near shopping centers , places of attraction and restaurants. It has laundry on each floor. all I can say negative is that I did not have wifi available to be under construction and damaged elevator. Excellence service.

We stayed in the "pent house" which amenities were exactly what we wanted. Two rooms, one with two beds (for adult sized kids), kitchen, living area, great patio and of course the view of the lake was wonderful.

The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels, etc. The staff we met were very pleasant and helpful.

I knocked off a star because the Inn's furnishings are dated, also there were some minor maintenance issues (i.e. the bathroom sink was very slow and we ended up using the kitchen sink), However, these were minor inconveniences and overall the stay was just right for us.

*Amenities: Could not remember if the Inn has an indoor pool, but it does have an indoor hot-tub and sauna.

Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us at the Beachcomber Inn. We are in the process of completing the remodel of this our last unit to finish. We hope you will come and join us again in the future. Yes we do have an outdoor pool and hot tub with great views of the lake. These are seasonal and open during the summer months only.

The view from our room of the lake and mountains was spectacular. The room was an older, but updated. We could walk out our bedroom and living room doors to the lake. I think it was a timeshare at one time, so it has a community room with a pool table and games. There was an inside hot tub and the pool was being renovated when we visited. The location was awesome. Close to Heavenly Ski Resort. Nice, clean and made our visit to Lake Tahoe wonderful.

Located right on the lake, with gorgeous views. Our room was considered a “studio,” but was roomy (with a Murphy wall bed) and kitchenette with a full stove and microwave. There is a balcony that overlooks the hotel’s swimming pool and the lake—great for morning coffee or a late afternoon drink. Scrupulously clean and attractively furnished. A great value in South Lake Tahoe!

The location and view are everything at this hotel! The staff was really nice and accomadating. The room was not the swankiest but definitely comfortable and clean. They only guaranteed WiFi in their lobby area but said they would be updating that in the next week. I loved being able to walk down a few stair steps from the property right to the beach with my daughter and the free movie rentals in the office was definitely a bonus! Oh yeah and not to mention that the price made this place a great value!

This was a timeshare exchange and it's pretty good. I reserved a one bedroom, two bath unit that sleeps 6 (sofa bed in living room and 2 queens in bedroom).

The kitchen and bathrooms were updated, although the master bathroom was quite small. The living room/dining room area was large but six adults with skis might have been a bit crowded. There was good closet space and drawer space as well, plus a desk. The carpet design was ok, but not my taste, although it felt clean.

The unexpected bonus was the HUGE deck that spanned the entire width of the apartment and went out at least 15-18 feet. On the warm days, I was able to read out there, but we also had a lot of snow (yay) which cramped the usage a bit. In the summer, that would definitely be the go-to place.

We could get linens changed out as needed, and they picked up trash (on weekdays). They did not do a mid-week clean as some timeshares do, but it wasn't an issue.

The unit was well equipped and they also had a big game room. We could check out DVDs, games and also play pool and foosball in the game room. There was an indoor hot tub which was quite nice and a dry sauna. Do turn the sauna on early, as it does take time to heat. Laundry facilities on premises which were great to have (no quarters needed).

Outdoor pool and hot tub were closed for the season. Beach/lakefront access from the property and I did take a walk one afternoon.

Location was good, very near grocery stores. Close to Heavenly Ski area, about 50 minutes (0n a good day) from Kirkwood and close to the same to Squaw/Alpine. An hour to Northstar. There are also several other more local resorts.

On the whole, a great place. Tahoe is an awesome place and this was my first winter visit. I think perhaps March was a bit off-season, as the traffic in South Lake wasn't nearly as bad as the other times I've been. If you like to gamble, the big casinos are also close to this location, and they offer free parking. Oh, this place only offers one parking spot per unit, so be prepared to park other vehicles off site.

Wifi in the room was iffy, as they were just upgrading to a new carrier. To really get service, I had to go to the game room. That was the big bummer for me as it limited my ability to work when I wasn't skiing.
