We came across this hotel when we had a camping disaster in Lake Tahoe. Our tent box had flooded and had to check in out of the rain for the night. I can’t believe how the team at the coachman managed to turn a terrible day around and feel like we landed on a hidden gem.
The staff are incredible! Every single person at the coachman goes out their way to inform you of information, places to go things to do in Lake Tahoe. Fantastic baristas and at night beautiful wine by the fire pit which brings all the guests together it’s amazing. They hand out complimentary s’mores which is such a lovely touch.
If you’re thinking about booking the coachman you won’t regret it! The rooms are spacious, perfectly temperature controlled and lovely malin + gotez products.
I can’t wait to one day come back and stay here for the entire trip. We absolutely loved it! Thank you so much to the team at The Coachman you guys really made our terrible day so much better!

I really liked the Coachman and I'd stay there again. The common spaces are very nice. There's a bar, good food, a kitchen, and a small indoor fireplace. The outside area has a larger firepit, pool and hot tub. The outdoor fire pit could use cushions on the wooden bleachersas the chairs fill up fast. The rooms are basic, nice and clean. There are no closets, only hooks to hang clothes. Our room was close to the street, but it was very quiet.
The staff was good, but seemed to multi task a lot between food and checkin/out. I do wish the music was lower in the reception area. The reception person was very hard to understand over the music.
Our room wasn't due to be ready until 4 pm, which should be 3 pm as other hotels, yet they were checking in people who came after us and handing out room keys at 3 pm. The staff made some excuse that I had booked an ADA room, but I hadn't. I booked a standard king.. The staff also said " Oh these people called before they arrived." I prepaid my room and would have loved to have had that information so that I could have been checking in instead of waiting around exhaused after a long trip.
I prepaid my room with all fees included, then got charged a "resort fee," which was not listed on Booking.com. It's now illegal in California to not disclose fees. The person I spoke with at the desk said that I booked through Expedia (who owns Booking.com) and therefore there was a charge, then made me prove it with my booking invoice to try to get a refund. I wish all hotels would drop the "resort fee" business and just advertise the actual price. I would have more respect for the brand. It's not like it's optional.

We loved our stay at The Coachman. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Really great layout which felt spacious and calm yet nice places to chill out and congregate.
The swimming pool was nice and warm (confirmed by our 8 yo) and a great place to chill out after a day exploring the lake.
We loved the free passes to the private beach by the lake and the free s’mores in the evening.
Overall we loved the town too

Friendly front desk staff, clean rooms.Overpriced.
I checked with the hotel for rates and was quoted $464 for a King Premium, checked with Trip Adviser and was quoted half that rate. Either way, it was overpriced. A King Premium was small, refrigerator shelves on the door were broken, it was also not level so everything rolled out when you opened the door. The bed wasn’t comfortable , the chair was so low to the floor it was difficult to get out of it. The shower/toilet room was tiny!
The TV was a little difficult to operate. At checkin, I was told to call or text the front desk with any questions. I called, no answer. I texted, no response. I would not recommend this place nor will I stay there again.

Here for a wedding event in town. Housekeeping was very good throughout. Beds are, on avg, comfortable enough, but not great. Good complimentary coffee station in the Reception Area and nice bar. Wonderful fire pit/sitting area. Only issue was the mini-split unit didn’t really keep it cool in the room.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was tasty and not overpriced. The location was great for walking to the lake or the strip. The hotel has a relaxed vibe, and the staff is very friendly. We would stay there again if we're ever in South Lake Tahoe.

Tastefully furnished, we stayed in one of the newly decorated rooms. So nice hotel. Really friendly and service-minded staff. Eliza was in special class and came with good tips.
Cozy farm environment with fireplace. Every night there were s’mores. Marshmellow “sandwich”. A small bunch of friendly laundry bears looked by for “s’mores time”. Funny experience.
Many places were closed for the season, but it was nice to take a drink at the hotel and there was the opportunity to get some to eat too.
Can highly recommend the hotel.
