The Landing Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa boasts spacious rooms with breathtaking views, though some guests note the decor could use updating and have reported maintenance issues. While the hotel's luxurious amenities, including fireplaces and heated floors, are well-regarded, opinions are mixed on the overall value, with high fees prompting concern. Service quality ranges from exceptional to disappointingly slow. The prime location near the lake and downtown is a highlight for visitors, despite mixed reviews on cleanliness and amenity functionality.

Wonderful stay……and location location location! We were in Lake Tahoe for a family reunion. We had a wonderful room and great service. Our room had a partial lake view, balcony and fireplace. We enjoyed poolside cocktails ( great happy hour) . The food we ordered from the happy hour menu was enjoyed very much. All the front desk, restaurant bar and maid service was excellent. We have recommended friends to stay here and will continue to do so. The free passes to the beautiful beach across the street was an unexpected bonus.
Thank You at The Landing

A very nice hotel with beautiful views, heated bathrooms floors and happy hours. The rooms are small and crowded for 4 people. You are not on the beach but across the street from a private beach which resort guests have free access. They have a free shuttle service to drop you off and pick you up within a mile of the hotel. It is a very dog friendly location and many of the guests do have their dogs with them (I think there is a $75 pet fee per day). The hotel also has bicycles to use. With the COVID restrictions reservations are needed to eat most everywhere- but especially at the hotel. The restaurant is really nice - but like the hotel itself the quality of the food or service doesn’t match the really high prices.

This was our first visit to The Landing and it was perfect. Check In went smoothly as expected, Annie made us feel welcomed and informed us about the semi-private beach that we had access to and the porter had our luggage up to our room quickly without us having to carry a single bag. Richard helped us with any request we had and always had a smile on his face when we saw him on property. We were in a Lake Front Suite that had everything we needed. Huge room with a wet bar, nice sized fridge, separate TV/couch area with a library of great books in the room. There was also a separate area with a built in desk that looked out a window to the lake...great perk for remote working. The bathroom was huge and had a in-shower sauna, heated floors, jetted tub and spa products to match. The balcony was our favorite as it had a 4 person table/chairs and 2 sun loungers that we had morning coffee and evening drinks on. We did breakfast, lunch and dinner at their restaurant (Jimmy's) and they were great with the social distancing and sanitizing requirements. We even saw a bear walking on the beach across the street one morning which was quite a treat. We spent the days at the beach across the street, hiking, fishing and then the afternoons back at the hot tub before heading out for dinner. The Landing was located perfectly to all the activities, restaurants we wanted to explore and couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I had the loveliest stay at The Landing Resort. From a friendly arrival at check-in to helpful bell service, the entire staff at the hotel made us feel welcome. We dined at the restaurant Jimmy’s for dinner which was a standout. Definitely get the Pork Cracklins and filet. Perfect location - walk to beach/marina or shopping + dining in town. We traveled during COVID and felt completely safe - room was clean, everyone wore face coverings and hand sanitizer was provided in several areas. This was our first trip to Tahoe and we can’t wait to come back.

Such a fabulous hotel. After a not so great experience at the hotel we stayed at in Utah not following COVID safety protocol we decided to drop some extra cash to ensure we were staying at a safe place. We were blown away by how safe we felt at this hotel. Yeah, Tahoe is pretty busy right now but they required all staff and guests to wear masks, had hand sanitizer everywhere, had a QR code for food menu, allowed max two people in the elevators at one time, and the room was spotless.

We had a bit of a view, and there is a semi private beach right in front of the hotel which guests have free access to. The bar and restaurant was great (we only had breakfast there in the AM and cocktail in the evening). It was just so relaxing and really a highlight of our drive back to SF from Colorado.

Make sure to ask for champagne at check in- not sure if they give it out without you asking.

I wanted to like this hotel – I just didn’t. First, I have seen a ton of great YoutTube videos on this property and read all the great reviews. We checked in with no champagne welcome – not a deal breaker. The lobby is tiny to say the least and we were cheerfully greeted by the valet/doorman but the person checking us in seemed to care less. We were in the adjacent building in a Garden View Room 1209 with king bed. The room was large and clean with a fireplace and heated bathroom floor. The shower had plenty of hot water, good water pressure and Molton Brown toiletries. The not so great issue is that the walls are THIN! We heard everything between rooms like talking, loud snoring and the trampoline party above us. We were woken up all night! Not the peaceful restful stay that we were looking for.

Bottom Line: The Landing is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. It is more like an upgraded motel. If you are looking for a restful stay, this isn’t the place.

We found the Landing because it was the only "5-star" resort in Lake Tahoe, and I was looking for something special for my fiance. Actually, before I start this review I'd like to explain why I put 5 stars in quotes. Simply put, many hotels claim to be 4 or 5 stars, but when it comes to details, location, customer service, amenities, and true luxury, they fall very short. So with that said please understand The Landing is a TRUE 5-star experience.

From the moment we walked in we were treated like we were special, our bags taken and put away, welcomed with an incredible scent, smile, and drink. It was exactly what we wanted after a long flight.

Our room was not only extremely comfortable and well furnished, it just felt expensive and what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. The bathroom cut ZERO corners as it was nicer than any hotel (or house) bathroom I've ever been in as the piano tile floors were preheated to 85 degrees and the toilet seat was also preheated! I can not explain what a treat this was. My fiance and I said "wow" probably 500 times just putting our toiletries away.

Now onto the rest of the hotel (views, restaurant, gym, pool, location, staff). The hotel is literally right in front of the beach. You wake up to the sun lighting up the mountains and it took our breath away. We also ended up eating at the restaurant every night (which is extremely unlike us). Normally my fiance and I like to venture outside the hotel and see whats around but the food at Jimmy's wasn't just "good for a hotel", or "good for a 5 star hotel" it was Fantastic and I would put it up with some of the best restaurants I've been to, period.

The gym and pool/ hot tub are clean, and more than what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.

Lastly, and most importantly, what makes this place so special, and why I've already booked my next trip, the people who work here are next level. I left feeling like I had friends for life. They're caring, kind, obviously hospitable, and now I feel like I have a real connection to a place I love. From the front desk to the bartenders to the GM and everyone in between. Thank you

Okay I think I said enough. Just book your stay if you read all of this.

I so wanted to love this hotel, after all the amazing reviews maybe my expectations were too high. First the good: great location and lake views, parking close to room, nice welcome with champagne. The not so good: Our lake view room was tiny, the bed was a queen but should have been a king and we didn't get a tub like the pictures online show. It was also not that clean, we saw a lot of cobwebs. We have been so careful minimizing interactions over the last few months we just went out and bought a duster ourselves and cleaned because we didnt want housekeeping in or to repack everything and move rooms (we don't pack lightly). I have a huge spider phobia so never slept properly from day one. The walls are so thin, we heard everything from both sides, loud snoring and kids early in the morning. We desperately needed to relax and it just didn't happen. I'm also concerned the hotel seemed full and rooms turned over quickly during the pandemic. We stayed in two other hotels during covid and both had reduced occupancy and didn't fill rooms until 72 hours after the previous guests. Overall, just not that impressed for what we paid. It was not luxurious or good value for money. We loved the location and lake tahoe but would look to stay elsewhere next time.

I had been looking for A nice hotel for my husband and I to stay in as we were celebrating he’s 55th birthday. Let me just say that everything about this beautiful hotel was nothing less than AMAZING😎. The young lady at the check in desk (I think her name was Melissa) was so very helpful in getting my husband and I checked in after Booking.com dropped the ball on our reservations. Jason the front desk helper was also very helpful in getting our luggage to our room and making sure everything regarding our room was what correct. The hotel is hidden away from all the other hotels on the Main Street located Across from the hotel sits a really nice clean beach in which my husband and I took full advantage of when we checked out the hotel the following day.
Our room was everything the website said it would be. Everything from the heated toilet seats and heated bathroom floors to the 2 white robes that we so happily wore later that night. The bed was very comfy and clean. Our room was super spacious and I I really adore the Decor. The patio attached to our room had the most amazing view of the lake. On a scale from 0 to 10 my husband and I will rate this hotel a Solid “11,” We will definitely be back within the near future to enjoy Landing Spa Resort.

I would urge everyone considering staying here to really reconsider. I’m not sure if this is the case now due to COVID, but this place is absolutely awful. I booked a lake front suite for the duration of our 3 night stay. Much to our shock, there was major construction happening on the terrace next door. While in our room, we could even open any of our windows and enjoy the view due to workers being able to see us in our room. Since we didn’t know this, we found out the hard way: one of the workers actually saw my girlfriend naked! On top of that, they started working every morning at 8am and woke us up every day. We expressed this to the staff from day 1 all the way to check out and the only thing they did was offer $75 off my entire stay. Such a joke. I paid upwards of $300/night for a nicer room and their response was pitiful. I will never ever stay at this hotel again and I recommend that everyone be weary of the “5 star” sticker on this low rent absolutely ridiculous excuse for a resort.
