Powered by AI
Tahoe Valley Campground is lauded for its prime location near Lake Tahoe and its vibrant, family-oriented atmosphere, complete with kid-friendly activities and live music. Guests commend the cleanliness of the sites, although some point out the need for restroom maintenance. While the staff is often praised for their friendliness, there have been occasional concerns regarding service responsiveness.
Travelers appreciate the amenities despite frustrations with the additional costs for Wi-Fi and a closed pool. However, some guests feel the pricing is steep relative to the amenities offered, especially given the proximity of the RV spaces.

Detailed Reviews
Have been camping at this location for almost 20 years. Lot's of amenities that make it convenient for families. Tennis courts, Pool, playground and laundry room. Actually, booked elsewhere to have a truer "camp" experience the last few years, however the other location was closed down due to threat of wildfires. This place values a buck over safety so we knew we could depend on having a place to stay, and felt fortunate they could make room for us. Very impressed that they've finally started remodeling their bathrooms, however it appears to be reactionary. they put some new tile after adding ADA stalls.... clearly a long standing deficiency. the temporary bathroom trailers are a welcome addition though, being that a family with small children can actually shower together and that there is a heater in each one. Probably a side affect of covid, however we were impressed with the increased frequency of bathroom cleanings, hope its a lasting change, as bathroom cleanliness has always been an issue here. Staff was very welcoming in the office, being able to take us in on short notice, and put a hold on the sites for additional dates depending on the situation at the alternate location. However, after hours, staff held obnoxiously loud parties at the group camp sites after quiet hours were in effect. We had to request an on-shift staffer ask them twice to keep the volume down after they had woken our toddlers from their sleep. it also came to our attention that they were using bbq's at these gatherings after they had advised us at check in (as well as being all over the news) that due to wild fire concerns, the state had banned all fire pits and bbqs including propane. the following day, in conversation the staffer let it slip that it had been awkward to approach the group about the noise complaints because his boss was present at the party! Difficult to expect guests to respect local restrictions and company policy when the staff fails to do the same.

Location - 15 mins to Heavenly / 45 mins to Kirkwood. RV sites are well marked, clear of debris, and provide enough maneuver room for larger trailers to safely get in and out. No issues with hookups, water spout is heated. We've stayed here two years following NYE and have enjoyed it. The roads in town and in the surrounding passes are easily transitioned if conditions permit. The staff are always helpful and flexible with check in/out depending on occupancy. Price is reasonable considering the location and time of year but you shouldn't have to pay extra for wifi. There are plenty of trash bins near each row of rv sites and neighbors were respectful of noise and overall friendly.

Overall camping site was very good.
The team works hard on keeping the site clean and functioning properly but there were clogged toilets and most times no hot water. However what I noticed is that whenever there was a mess or clogged toilet it was fixed or cleaned pretty quickly which was great. We liked the location it was central to grocery stores or food places but far enough you feel like you are out in the woods.
Online check-in didn’t work, and there was no info on what to do when you arrived, there was no phone number that went direct to campsite either so would be nice to have an email on what to do when you arrive.

Clean, cozy cabin in wooded area with comfortable Queen bed and private bath (shower). Kitchenette was small, but stocked with dinnerware, glasses, microwave, coffeemaker and small refrigerator. However, there was no place to hang clothing in bathroom while showering, nor were there any hooks in main room for coats, shirts, etc. Bring hangers to hook onto bunk bed railings. If two couples are sharing a cabin, opt for a 6-person cabin, not one for 4. This was perfect for the two of us, but would have been crowded with four, even if two were small children.

If you read other reviews this place sounds like a nightmare. It's not at all! If you're looking for an acre of space then this isn't for you. But, if you want a beautiful, tree filled forest like setting then look no further! The sites are not huge but there was plenty of space for us to set up our chairs and bikes (there were 8 of us!) The entire campground is clean and they are following all mandated protocols for the COVID19 pandemic. Our host Dave was awesome! He even let us borrow his own fire pit since our site didn't have one! All the staff were friendly and helpful. The entire campground was well maintained and there were fun activities for anyone who wanted to participate since it was 4th of July weekend.
This was our first trip to Tahoe Valley and we were be back for sure!
Thank you for a great family memory!

I stayed here by myself for a getaway. The manager, James, was incredibly helpful (and handsome ;) ). The front desk women were sweet and upbeat. The rangers directed me to my site without hesitation and I took a swim in the pool. Everyone was very happy, helpful and Covid-concious. The pool was regulated so only a certain amount of people could swim, which I found very safe and reasonable. Kimmie made me a sandwich or one of her world famous chili dogs every day of my stay. She also scooped me my favorite flavor of ice cream, birthday cake, every evening. The food was very reasonably priced and delicious. At the end of my evening I would stumble back over to the store for a delicious cider, they carry several varieties of ciders, wine, beer and soft drinks and iced teas. The campground was one of the cleanest I have ever been to. The hiking trails on the property behind the pool lead to a secret river location. Everyone had their dog, was riding a bicycle, walking with their family or friends, all people, visitors and employees alike, had a smile on their face. Wish I could live here!!

The most important thing you need to know about this campsite is that except for the ladies at the registration desk NO staff members were wearing masks. Everyone on a golf cart (the rangers, security, maintenance) were NOT wearing masks. Completely outrageous during a pandemic.

The nightly price suggests they need to improve amenities fire pit location too close to road and bbq dirty looks unclean and each site should have a table. Good quality store. My Satellite partially worked due to many trees but as expected.

The location was perfect to take in the South Lake Tahoe activities, including a boat ride to Emerald Bay, great restaurants and casinos. The office staff was most friendly and very considerate. The two security/campground hosts, Terry and Dave were just the best!! Most friendly, helpful, and energetic. You can tell they really enjoy being outside and interacting with the guests. We had an electrical issue and Dave, the camp electrician was most professional and didn't give up until he got our issues fixed and we were able to limp to the RV repair appointment we had 900 miles away. Our little dog totally didn't know what to do with so much room in the dog park area. It is well maintained and is the largest RV dog park we've seen in our 2.5 years of traveling the country. Highly recommend this RV park and we'd certainly go there again if we are in the area. (The summer activities look great, but we were there pre-season.)

It’s always tuff to travel during Covid but the process here was so easy. A few days before I arrived I got an email from Tahoe Valley Campground telling me I could register and do everything online and print my pass and all so I didn’t have to go into the office. When I got there I easily found my space set up my airstream and this gentleman came up in a few moments and asked if everything was OK and showed me the direction to the bathrooms the office and a bunch of other stuff on Lake Tahoe his name was Brett Coleman.... with a big smile on his face and a big welcoming!! He is a class act. Everybody at the park was awesome all the staff was great. Lena in the office she was awesome, it’s kind of funny I said to her I met this guy when I first checked in he was so nice his name is Brett and she said that’s my husband!! Will definitely be going back there in the future thanks again for the amazing time Tahoe! Jeff and Bianca.

We weren’t allowed in June. Because of high winds. Call them and I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to help you. Awesome place I can’t want to go back.
I need one too. They're impossible to reach. I left a voice mail twice with no response and no way to get a hold of them.
I believe so but I think they charge extra for them, you don't have to be a member but this is a Encore /thousand trails rv park, alot of fun for kids, call them prices might have dropped now that peak season is over
