Clean, budget, pet-friendly rooms a block away from Heavenly Village and Casino Hotels. We were upgraded to a room with a kitchenette, but it was poorly stocked. No bowls, one glass, a few plates and small coffee cups, silverware, a few cooking utensils, and basic pots/pans. We did enjoy eating breakfast each morning and cooking a couple of dinners to save time and money. We loved the close proximity to restaurants and Raleys, to which we mostly walked. The room was partially refurbished (floors, armchair, beds/bedding, paint). The kitchenette and bathroom, however, still need to be gutted; a lot of visual wear and tear. The motel was fully booked the first night of our stay, but we did not hear excessive noise from the neighboring rooms. The beds were comfortable with four pillows each. The fireplace was broken, but the heater kept the room warm. Our only gripes were one very squeaky bed frame and the blinds did not block out much of the exterior lights at night. Overall, we loved the location of the motel and were satisfied with the quality at this low pricepoint.

To be truthful, I was skeptical after reading so many bad reviews, with people referring to non-working heaters, broken equipment, run down quality, etc. I was very pleased to find my double queen room on the second floor clean, and comfortable. The heater functioned well, as did the small refrigerator, microwave oven, and coffee maker! Check-in was quick and easy, and staff was friendly. Perhaps I got a remodeled room, but my only complaint would be that the thin walls of the adjoining room was occupied by several young men that played loud hip hop (crap rap) music from about 11pm until 2am in the morning on the night of my first stay. Granted the walls were thin, but they were the only ones I heard that night. Otherwise all good once they quieted down, and they were much quieter the second night.
I would stay again

Certainly not as advertised!! Room was not clean, bathroom was tiny with a very small corner shower, air conditioner was noisy, the cord on the only window shade was broken and each individual slate had to be shut manually, and even then light still came through. Reaching someone in the office was difficult, both for check in and check out...no one there, called number, no answer and could not leave message. Breakfast was supposed to be included, and where other hotels were at least giving breakfast bags with assorted breakfast items, Big Pine Mountain gave NOTHING!!
Don’t necessarily like giving bad reviews but want to warn others to look at other options for sure!!!

I stayed here for a ski trip because of it's proximity to the gondola. Location is why this doesn't get 1 star.
No soundproofing, you get to hear everything going on in your neighbors room.
You get hit with an extra 10$ a night fee when you check in, with that factored in to the price you can get something nicer.
Beds are old and pretty uncomfortable.
You can't get a decent shower since the shower is old and runs out of hot water in 2 minutes.
Maybe I was just unlucky but my floor had sticky patches upon checkin which is kinda disgusting.

Filthy room, stained bedding and carpet, broken toilet flush, lumpy mattress and pillows, very loud A/C, broken blinds and chairs, water temp changes from warm to extreme hot and cold instantly, smell of weed permeated into room at all times, and zero signs of Covid sanitation met. Completely unkept room for an insane $327.50 a night (including all the taxes and fees). Used sandals walking around room and in taking shower. Though we wiped everything down with our own sanitizing wipes and used our own sheets on bed, we were still unable to sleep and felt gross during entire stay because of room conditions and lumpy bed.

Explained all this to front reception, and only response was an apology, when instead a partial or full refund should have been offered since that room value was $40 a night. Unfortunately we were stuck staying there because we could not find availability at any other hotel in South Tahoe during the Labor Day weekend last minute.

The only positive is the location because is a short walk to the beach and village. Won’t let me upload all the pics of the awful conditions...here are the top 10.

I made a reservation through Expedia at this hotel and the charge would be made 50% at the time of booking and the rest at check in.

I had a problem with my car and I couldn't get to the hotel and it charged me 100% of the reservation amount plus the resort fee, and the Expedia voucher specified that the charge would be 50% of the reservation amount on No-Show case.

Expedia contacted the hotel and they said they will not refund the 50% overcharge.

Absurd a hotel that does not comply with what was agreed at the time of booking, I am a travel agent and that hotel is deleted from my sales list!

My bf and stayed there the last week of July and booked the jacuzzi king room for 2 night. The room was ok the only problem we had is the location of the room is out to the street and there random people roaming around and screaming. There was people at night time slamming doors. The bedsheets were dirty and stained. The shower didn’t work correctly and water leaked every where, the roof and floor. The ac didn’t work correctly. The room felt very humid and gross. We couldn’t open the windows because there is random people walking around the area. It made me and bf very uncomfortable we decided to check out the next day. When we were going to talk to clerk there was no one there and I waited a few mins and I was so frustrated at the service and experience I just wanted to leave. So we did we just told the tall guy we are checking out early. This hotel is a waste of money. Don’t book at this hotel.

Perfect for what I needed but it looked like I walked into 1982. The carpet was gross and there was recent spackling repair work on the wall but they didn’t bother to paint or clean up the dried stuff up from the floor.
I honestly was a little afraid to walk barefoot in the room because of all of the stains. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everything that was going on next door.
The front desk staff was nice - especially Marco. Gave me some tips of where to eat.
Location was great, price was right but if they want more people to stay there, they should really show honest photos of their rooms.

We visit Tahoe for thanksgiving every year and have stayed here for the last three years.
It’s time to move on.
The pink haired gal who checked us in was very nice and friendly.
We got the two queen with fireplace and kitchenette.
Upon entering our room, it looked good. I was actually surprised from the amount of negative reviews. But then I started looking around. It got pretty bad, pretty quickly.
Let’s start with the bathroom. There was a hole punched in the door. The wires from the hair dryer was fried so they put some sort of clamp on the wires, rather than just replacing the hair dryer. That should have been red flag number 1 for me lol. The tub had some pieces missing and there were random hairs in there. Good thing I brought Lysol and bathroom cleaner. The rest of the room definitely hadn’t been deep cleaned in awhile- which is quite shocking for the pandemic that we are in. I would think it would get deep cleaned between each guest. The floor hasn’t been mopped in forever, there were dust bunnies everywhere. Again, glad I brought cleaner and Lysol. Just freaks me out when thinking about the sheets... are they clean? Did someone else sleep in these? So gross.
We tripped the breaker and all the lights went out, as I was cooking dinner for my starving kids and husband. It took the guys at the hotel about 20 mins to get it back on (very grateful for them)!
The beds were horribly uncomfortable. Rock hard. Even my kids were complaining of waking up 20 times a night. We asked for a couple extra pillows but the lady at the front said they didn’t have any.
Now the biggest problem- the heater. It was either freezing cold or blazing hot in our room. And my husband got a little SHOCK when he turned the heater on. He didn’t want to report it to the front desk because we were leaving in the morning and he didn’t want to have to change rooms. If it had been just me, I would have run down to the front desk and asked for a full refund.. and gone to any other motel in Tahoe.

The room we booked was definitely not that one. The "Superior King Suite" must be the one in the pictures that makes the hotel look nicer than it is.

I have no idea how much the pet fee would be because we weren't traveling with one. We did go to the beach and dogs were running and playing in the water.
