Detailed Reviews
We paid a lot to stay here last minute for a couple of nights. Its a very basic room with a clean bed. Horrible furnishings. The shower is open to the room with a window and the tub is inside the room. Honestly this place was very basic with no amenities and for a little more you could stay in a much nicer place. I dont recommend!

This ended up being a favorite room on our summer road-trip. Despite the air-conditioning being off when we arrived (and the outside temps in triple digits) it cooled down quickly once we reset the breaker. The room was petite, but everything was impeccably clean and appeared to be recently updated. The bathroom was well appointed, and the jetted spa tub was a bonus. The bed was comfy, too! Within easy walking distances to resturants and shopping. We'll stay here again, for sure.

My girlfriend and I were quite torn about this place. The overall romance is achieved, but some details were just lacking. I was so excited to stay here, but left a little disappointed. We stayed in the Tahoe Suite for 2 nights. I’ll separate this review into three pieces: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The Good:
The room was gorgeous overall. It’s quite stunning and very romantic. The bed is very comfy, with more pillows then one could need. There are also a lot of towels, which was very nice. The entire room smelled like oranges when we arrived, which was a nice touch. There was also a customized welcome letter on the bed just for me. The customer service at this hotel is amazing and is really hard to beat. The location is great too. Heavenly is just down the street, Harrah’s and Harvey’s are two blocks away, and the lake is one block away.
The Bad:
The rooms are noisy. I never heard any voices, but you can hear any time someone takes a shower or uses the sink in the room next to you. This room is also small. I saw this in previous reviews and was prepared, but this is just a warning for other customers. If you want space to spread, go for the Alpine or Spruce Suites. The bathroom doors stick quite badly. The romance is ruined when your girlfriend gets stuck in the bathroom and you both have to yank on the door quite hard to get it to open. The romance is also ruined when you can see your significant other every time they go to the bathroom. If you are at all shy about your #1 and #2 habits, try for another room.
The Ugly:
The state of the rooms is rather sad when you look at the details. The carpet is stained badly (we saw management reply to other reviews saying the carpet would be replaced by now, but it isn’t). The lighting is cheap compared to the upgrades everywhere else and it is just bad quality. The candles by the tub are fake LEDS that turn into really ugly colors that resemble a rave more than candlelight. The mirror in the bathroom was cracked. The room also appears like the cleaning crew only does a basic job. There was a disgusting clump of hair in the shower, a booger on the bathroom mirror, and what appeared to be a scab on the bathroom wall. This room does not ever get cold either. I feel bad for the people staying here in the summer months because the fireplace puts out so much heat, and the air conditioner is kind of wimpy.

+1
My husband and I recently stayed four long nights. The original room we were assigned to was cheesy, cheap, and teeny tiny. After much complaining we were assigned a better room, comparatively speaking. The room felt like it was pieced together with old garage sale pieces, dirty carpet with fraying edges, outdated, and a rock hard bed. Between midnight and 4am, every night, we were awoken by a large bear going through their non bear proof garbage dumpster. Are the aware of the potential detriment to people, pets, and the bears?? Are they too cheap to purchase a proper receptacle??
The hotel is near, walking distance, to casinos, a small beach. The cheesy heart shaped jacuzzi tub fits two.
Go knowing the risk.

Good points were that housekeeping did a great job, considering what they have to work with and were very cordial and accommodating. Jetted tub was GREAT! Size of bathroom was very nice. Bed was comfortable.
Bad points are as follows: Bedroom/main room barely large enough to accomodate two people. No closet to hang your clothes, instead, a rod mounted on the wall in front of the bed was to be used. No dresser or anywhere to put unpacked clothes and suitcases. Placement of television left a lot to be desired, but it worked. Air conditioner worked, but was extremely noisy, making it difficult to sleep with it running. Phone did not work. no modern/current electrical plug-ins for phone charging, etc. Shower was nice but did not drain quickly, allowing water to pool 1" to 2" before draining. Bathroom sink faucets were loose and wobbly, with the COLD faucet not shutting off completely without excessive force.
Pictures of the rooms are very misleading, so buyer beware.
Room had wonderful potential, maybe just not designed correctly?

This place quoted me a much lower price over the phone and lost my reservation. I also informed them of a pet accompanying us and they chose to charge me an excessive cleaning fee claiming they did not know we had a dog with us. Upon check-in, the toilet was sealed but still had used toilet paper and urine in the bowl. The AC did not work and the room was almost unbearably hot all night. I would NOT recommend this "dive" for anyone!!!

Truthfully, we never got to stay here. I booked a trip online for July of 2008. I entered my dates I was going to stay, it was 4 nights. The Secrets Inn website itself , NOT me, gave me the 4th night free, which it designated as Saturday night., I did not pick the free date, I had no control over it, I repeat, the website picked the date and gave me my total price, which I paid for on my card.
The next day I got a very cryptic email saying my reservation was being cancelled because you can't use weekends as your free day. Not even a sorry about that or anything. (It was typed in all capitals BTW).
I immediately called the Inn and after going thru the VM options, finally a male voice picked up. I identified myself, and he said he had my info in front of him and the reservation was being cancelled. I explained what was happening as above, all he could keep repeating was that the 4th free day couldn't be on the weekend. "It's in the small print" was his mantra, over and over again. No, "I'm sorry" or anything close to a good customer service fix came out of his mouth. Just, "It's in the small print".
Uhh, what was I suppose to do? I explained again, his website gave me the day, I just put in the dates, and it was his website that gave me my total charge. Was I suppose to tell it, no, I wanna pay more? I didnt even ask originally for the 4th day free, it was assigned to me!
I asked for the owner and he indicated he was the owner. I unfortunately did not get his name.
He hung upon me , and lost a customer....and I hope quite frankly alot of future customers who read this. For what? 50 bucks? Which was the difference between the free day being mid-week or the weekend.
And oh BTW, the cost is WAY above the $83.00 average it says on the site here in the little blurb advertisment that ranks the hotels in Tahoe.

1st of all take my advice and stay anywhere but here or at the other crappie one next door......1st pic is of bed bugs as soon as we pulled our sheet back. ....2nd is the shower drain that clogged up....so we wanted to go to an other inn and the desk clerk promised us one nite would be taken off our overall stay...when it was time to check out the clerk Tim as he called himself....called my wife a liar and told us to leave charged us $ 373.00 for two nights....No one has tried to call us back about this. ..I've left a number of emails and messages. .. nor the GM Devin has tried to contact me he's non existing ....I emailed beachfront properties as well with no response. ...a night in the car would have been better than all the unpleasantries at this inn....Read the Negative reviews because it's the truth about this inn....

We just stayed one night and the room was nice, the bed comfy, the jacuzzi was nice and relaxing and the inn is within walking distance to the casinos etc.
My only knock is the noise levels. We heard everything going on in every occupied room attached to us including upstairs. I don't believe it was more than "normal" noise activity including the amorous couple next door
