We love Americana Village! This is our second time here. The price is right, the suites have all you need and you can loan DVD and get popcorns for movie night. Short 10-12 min walk to the Gondola. Pool, sauna and hot tub! Karla and her team make you feel right at home. Great value and great spot! We will be back!

Beyond far the best hotel my family and I have stayed at. We’ve stayed at the most expensive Disney Land Resorts and they don’t compare to the efforts and amenities this hotel offers. Being in construction myself and having built many hotels, I’ve seen many owners turn down quality for cheaper price tags. They have 5’ tall 2.5’ deep fridges (slightly smaller than a full size) and because they are a rare size I know they’re more expensive than any Samsung smart fridge. The fact the owner got that price tag and still pulled the trigger tells me everything I need to know about them. Instead of a Wi-Fi router at the end of each hallway they give you your own in each room. We brought our Firestick and got to watch our shows in perfect Hd with no lag. They installed a motion sensor light switch at a convenient location that makes it easy to get to the bathroom at night without having to have a bright light on all night. Again these motion sensors are 10x the cost of a regular switch. It’s one thing to spend that money at one location but they spent that money at every room. They have every kitchen amenity including blender, toaster, microwave and pots and pans and portable stove top. Throw in the fact that it was cheaper to stay here than any other hotel in the area on New Years Eve and it’s located at the heart of South Lake, and you’ve got the best hotel in Tahoe. The list is long. We will never stay anywhere else.

+1
I did a lot of research before selecting this hotel for my family. I chose it because it had a hot tub, decent reviews, and I liked the fact that they had movies and popcorn for the guests.
What I didn’t realize was that there was such a wonderful family vibe there. Each person working at the front desk was personable and you could tell they really enjoyed working there. They always had fresh warm popcorn, and frequently had yummy cookies up for grabs. We loved loved loved the breakfast room and we appreciated that it wasn’t a buffet with tongs and everybody grabbing what they wanted. There was someone behind their serving so that you didn’t have to worry about germs.
There were barbecues everywhere, corn hole, ping-pong, the pool was clean and a good temperature, and the hot tub was super hot which I really loved at the end of a long day hiking.
The value that we got was so great I feel like we really hit the jackpot on this one. We really loved the layout of the rooms and made it feel like we had our own home even though it was a hotel room. The room had such special final touches, bows with the towels, even with the cookware in the dishwasher ready for us. I really wish we could’ve stayed longer. We were only there for three nights.
Last but not least, they have activities that you can participate in for a small fee. They have hikes, tie-dye craft shirts for souvenirs, etc. They also had a good variety of movies to borrow.
Such a great property. I can’t wait to go back in the future.

Americana Village has beautifully remodeled, spacious rooms with a full kitchen with full size appliances. The layout of our room was nice and open with plenty of room for luggage and our hiking gear. All the staff were very nice especially the activities director. One night a week the resort has a homemade enchilada night prepared by the director and guests can purchase and eat right on site. They were sooo good and was nice to have after a long day of hiking and not wanting to go out and hunt for a place to eat in town. The resort was very clean and followed Covid protocols very strictly. It was very nice to have the bikes available to check out vs renting. The resort was very easy to find and liked that it wasnt right on the main drag and was easy to walk to many different locations from there as well. I would definitely return to this resort.

We just returned from the Americana and had to check out earlier than planned because of the fires in the Tahoe area and couldn't even see the lake due to the smoke! Certainly not the resort's (motel at best) fault but here is the run down:
1. There is very little parking so good luck trying to drive somewhere and return for a spot.
2. The resort is very dog friendly ..there are dogs everywhere..like a dog pound!
3. The steps to the upstair
s are dangerous and the walkway is so uneven someone could easily fall. There is NO ELEVATOR and no one to help you with your luggage.
4. There is NO AIR CONDITIONING! This is a big deal because the rooms get so hot even with the fans on and door open.
5. The shower is great due to strong water pressure and the bed is comfortable.
6.Free breakfast is a joke so dont even bother so buy groceries nearby.
7. Location is great because you can walk easily to Heavenly Valley shops.
8. All in all I would not stay here again due to the cramped quarters and lack of amenities.

I had a wonderful experience of staying at American Village in February of 2021. The resort in located in the heart of S. Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Village, short walk. This wasn't my first time, I had stayed at this place at least 8 times before over the years while I skied at Heavenly. The service is always superb. Hospitality and community feeling of the resort bring in another level of comfort, pampering, and safety. The continental breakfast is of the best kind and the room is always very clean, quiet, with comfortable bed and upgraded. The kitchenette is extremely useful for storing left-overs, making tea/coffee, heating up food etc with a dishwasher. I have been staying in the suites that can accommodate up to 4 people including Ambassador suite and loved the settings always. In my recent stay during the pandemic, all the health safety protocols were followed, which made the stay during these challenging times very relaxing, safe, and enjoyable. Last but not the least, the staff and management at Americana Village are also the best and very helpful.

Very cramped quarters. Looks like it was once a motel converted to a timeshare property. They did a good quality job in the conversion, but there just isn't much room. You an't enter the batharoom if somebody has the refrigerator door open or is loading the dishwasher. However the staff made up for the tight space. They were all friendly and efficident. The room was clean too.

Ok, so first, I know this is in South Lake which really matters when it comes to places to stay. You either have the newly renovated swanky joint, the new build brand name joint, the 70's never been renovated joint, or the because it's clean and people didn't pay the ridiculous price to stay at some place nicer joint. So here goes an honest review. Value for the money, if you compare it to the swanky or new brand name joints yes, if you compare it to your normal stays outside of South Lake, not so much. Front desk staff was extremely nice. Check in was smooth. Now lets talk about the rest. Location, perfect if you plan on spending time at the Heavenly Village. Walking past the apartments to get there, not so much. Neither is listening to the locals that live on the street racing up and down the street at all hours of the day/night. The grounds are kept nice, however keep in mind that some of the amenities do not really exist. Like the basketball court, the hoop was damaged and pushed up under a tree. The rooms, old, not renovated furnishings, with old tiled bathrooms and showers and no air conditioning which made sleeping difficult. So, would I stay there again, yes, however just know that this is not the 4.5 Star place that you have come to know 4.5 stars.

We had a week to relax and enjoy the facility . There are activities provided which were a fun surprise. The pool was warm enough to enjoy. We had a Studio unit. It was fine for fixing lunch and warming up food for a meal. There was even a dishwasher in our unit, a full size fridge and a two burner hotplate, fry pans and dishes etc. Very Nice!

Any use to the couch for sleeping creates a fire hazard!
Rooms are not designed for more than 2 people using the same bed and the fire department should be notified! The parking is also a challenge since many guests are packing their rooms with additional quests. While technically including a kitchenette, bath room & 'kitchenette' sink area are small and inconvenient. Room to layout suitcases is likewise limited. This was the worst place we stayed at in our 3 week travel and we stayed at less expensive / better appointed and better managed along the way. Front desk demeanor was disappointing at best and consistent with a 'take or leave it' attitude for an area with more demand than supply.

Im afraid I do not know the answer to your question. I was there in Sept and hot tub was closed because of Covid restrictions but pool was open at that time. I would call the resort directly and find out. Even if pool closed, I would recommend staying there- remodeled rooms were wonderful and spacious and staff very nice!
I am allergic to dogs/cats, but never experience any reaction in our room.

San Diego, California, United States10 contributions4 helpful votesAre there outdoor BBQs to cook on there?
I agree, grills and a sitting / picnic area at the end. Enjoy!
The pool and hot tub at the motel are very clean and family friendly. I would think that most people would find the 15 to 20 minute walk to the Lakeside public beach on the edge of something they would find acceptable.
yes it is dog friendly they have a dog run behind the building fenced in with water for them to run and do their business.
