Detailed Reviews
This place is a very tastely done upgrade on an old style motel. The owners have done a very nice job on the updates, but what really makes this place special is the staff that provides a great experience. The breakfast every morning was tremendous with freshly baked cakes and a delicious hot dish, but also a chance to get a quick update on the mountain or travel recommendations from the staff or fellow travelers. There is a communal spirit at this place that was very unique, and creates an experience.
As for the rooms.... The deluxe King was certainly on the small side. However, heat from the fire place was welcomed, and really made for a welcoming atmosphere. The shower is very small, but high end toiletries from Malin and Goetz are a very nice touch.
The location is great... For those skiing, it was under a 10 minute walk to the gondola, carrying boots and skis.

We stayed for a long spring weekend and were drawn to the reviews of great customer service, cleanliness, and the fact that the property doesn't allow more than 2 people per room (read: caters to adults only). We were not disappointed! Other than the normal "people will be people" factor where our neighbors don't seem to understand how to close their doors quietly, it was very quiet, clean, and the staff was very courteous.
I saw a couple complaints here about the 2 person per room policy. I have to say I don't understand this, they make it very clear in EVERY communication to you (email, SMS, reservation confirmation) they do not allow it and strictly enforce it.
We never got to try the breakfast basket, but it sounded great when we read the menu you get taped to your door daily to choose your next day's meal. We got an early start and were gone before 7.
The room was spacious enough, king bed, little "living room" area with a fireplace. nice touch with the FireTV, if you're into portable TV. :)
The location is just far enough away from the busy-busy noice of South Tahoe's main drag, but close enough you can walk up there within 5 minutes. Beach is 5 minutes walk in the other direction.
We'll definitely be back when we travel to Tahoe again.

The hotel is very cozy, with a very familiar environment. You can see through the details how they worried in making the guest experience very pleasant, since the very thoughtful and friendly employees until the fresh flowers at the tables during the happy hours.
You can also have a good conversation with the hosts always pleasants and as a plus you can stay very well located between California and Nevada, in a comfortable and clean room close the most beautiful lake I have ever seen.
I strongly recommend the place.

I will start with the positive: The location is good. You can walk to all of the casinos and the beach from this location, other things are a short drive away. It was nice to have free wine or beer each evening. The beds and bedding was comfortable.
The negative:
Maybe there are better rooms than the one we stayed in, but my room did not represent the picture on the web page. The Shower is the size of a camper shower, almost unusable and I am only 5-4, 125lbs. For a woman, this room was a challenge. There is no counter space in the bathroom. There is a full length mirror as you enter the room but the light above it was not working. When we asked if the light bulb could be changed, we were met with weird resistance (from the man that worked there) and it was never taken care of. Honestly the room was so small and most of the closet was taken up the mini frig. We stayed in July, so we packed light. I do not know how anyone could stay in this room in the winter, with winter clothes and snow equipment- there is no room. One of the reasons we picked this hotel was because it was close to attractions and offered breakfast and happy hour. The breakfast you can skip. 2 out of the 3 nights we were there, there was no coffee....they wrap the eggs/food directly in tinfoil which causes condensation and as a result you have a wet omelet. There was not butter or syrup if you got the pancake sandwich. no food was offered with the happy hour.

What a gem! The best part of our stay was our awesome hosts, Bill and Debbie. They completely made this place the most amazing accommodation in South Lake Tahoe. We had such a wonderful time that we can't wait to come back and book another stay with them! Everything was pretty much perfect.
Location: the inn is in such a convenient location, a few blocks from Lakeside Beach on one side and a few blocks from Heavenly Village on the other. Super convenient!
Rooms and grounds: the rooms are nicely renovated and tastefully decorated, a bit of rustic chic. The beds and comfy and all the rooms are air conditioned. The garden right outside is so beautiful and it's so nice to just sit outside in front of the fire pit or at a cafe table. There is also a hot tub but we didn't use it. Everything is super well maintained and amazingly clean.
Amenities: plenty of parking available, beach towels and beach chairs available for use. Lakeside beach pass also included! Hot tub can be used one room at a time due to covid.
Food: Breakfast included and since covid, they pack up such a cute picnic basket to be picked up in the morning with items you pre-select the night before, which included coffee, juices, home made pastry, boiled eggs and/or yogurt and a hot entree choice. We took ours with us to the park and had a picnic breakfast on the beach the first day. We got the quinoa bowl at Bill's suggestion and it did not disappoint! We had to go kayaking early the next day so we were able to bring a tray with a coffee pot, pastries, yogurt and juice to our room the night before. It was so nice of Debbie to accommodate us on that. Also happy hour from 5:30-7pm with drinks and a snack - we had grilled corn and buffalo chicken quesadillas. So delicious!
It was such a pleasure chatting with Bill and Debbie; they are the reason why this is such a wonderful place to stay. They genuinely just want their guests to have the most awesome experience in Tahoe. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time and can not wait to come back soon!

After staying at many different locations this year during our travels, we found this one location of all our stays. did not live up to its reviews and expectation. We had to scratch our heads as to how others found this location so "cozy"
Maybe it was the 34"x34" shower stall. The small parking lot.
Yes, the one host was very congenial during the afternoon happy hour. That was a nice touch. The breakfast basket provided was one of the better Covid style methods we have encountered
Back to the shower. It had large shampoo, soap, and lotion wall mounted containers. None of them worked though and we had to ask for bar soap that was not provided. The other oddity was the ice bucket that was provided with the room, much like just about every hotel. The only issue was there no ice machine on property we were told. We were informed though of the tiny ice cube tray in our mini-fridge. Unfortunately we were not there long enough for any ice to freeze after several days.
Usually we can rely on Trip Advisor reviews. Not this time.

Maybe I was expecting something else, but I was kinda disappointed.
Check in was quick and the staff was pleasant.
I had asked for an upper floor room, but was assigned the lower floor down in a corner by the laundry. The building is older and creaks with footsteps. They stressed being quiet after 9PM and for the most part it was.
The room itself was so small we couldn’t really open up a suitcase unless it was on the bed.
There was a fireplace and smallish TV which had a decent selection of channels
The tiny window air conditioner struggled at first to cool the room, but eventually it was comfortable.
The bed was large and comfortable, but really took up most of the room.
The bathroom was rather larger than expected and clean, but lighting was pretty low especially with a bulb burnt out. The shower had no light and was quite dark.
The hotel had a pleasant little outdoor dining area and had a happy hour which we missed.
We walked the couple blocks to the beach to see the sunset and were very disappointed to be told we could not access the beach. the whole beach was fenced in with a security guard. I had been led to believe that the hotel had beach access. Later we found out they could give out passes, but that didn’t help me and a pleasant evening stroll was ruined.
The hot tub was closed.
I noticed a large pile of trash that was there the entire evening and the next morning.
The breakfast was unusual and pleasant; they had a picnic basket with a thermos of coffee, burrito, cake, fruit, yogurt. It was quite tasty
I know the area is EXTREMELY popular and I was frankly shocked at how much other area hotels cost, so maybe this wasn’t a bad deal. I guess i was expecting a bit more.

We stayed 3 nights. The room was clean, with a mini fridge and small TV. The shower drained slowly and, at times, leaked on to the floor a little. The bed was just ok, not super comfortable.
The clerk, a young woman named Lindsey, was very friendly and recommended some places for us to see. She was always cheerful, and we appreciated her.
They serve a little breakfast in a picnic basket, which we liked because we would take it to a local park with a great view of the lake. We found the food just ok. In the evenings they have a happy hour with complimentary beer, wine, and soda, which we didn't partake of.
The place is within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, two big casinos, and the Heavenly gondola ride, a fun experience.
We recommend 7 Seas if you're looking for basic accommodations at a fairly reasonable rate, though for our next visit to Tahoe, we will likely try another property.

Bill, Deb and the crew always impress. After staying at a number of motels and hotels in South Lake Tahoe, 7 Seas Inn at Tahoe has to be the best choice for all it provides. Bill always greets you with a smile, makes you feel like family (the good kind!). The rooms are well appointed, very boutique and super clean. The breakfasts are fresh, tasty and plentiful...great, strong coffee to boot! The evening social, complete with beer, wine and appetizers really hits the spot before going out to dinner and enjoying conversations around the fire pit. They even have it down to a science during these COVID-19 times, creating made-to-order breakfast baskets for each room so you can enjoy eating in your room, on the patio or bring down to the beach.
Bottom line, everything is well thought out and great service is what they consistently deliver.. That's why it's our favorite place to stay in South Lake Tahoe. Conveniently located close to the beach, the casinos, restaurants and Heavenly.
Put this place on your list when visiting the area. You'll be happy you did!

We reserved through their web site and got an extra discount. The service was excellent. Chad and Cas went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. They were totally prepared for COVID. The price included breakfast which was served hot in a picnic basket. It was tasty and big enough. It also included a reception in the afternoon with al the drinks and chips you wanted. They turned the fire pit and warmers for us. They encouraged social distancing , but guests were friendly and we had a great time. The Inn is located about a block down the road from the beach. They also provide beach towels and beach chairs. There is a bicycle rental near by as well as restaurants and shops. All within walking distance. Definitely a place worth returning!

The King Suite had a tub/shower combo
The description reads as there may not be accommodations for a couple with 1 child? Is this correct?
I believe this is correct. The rooms accommodate only 2 people and there isn’t room for a roll away bed.
