Detailed Reviews
My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon. It is a great little place, conveniently located, and affordable!
It is a short walk to the water, a neat beer garden, and other conveniences.
The rooms are clean, and the staff was cheerful and kind.

We stayed at the Tahoe Valley Lodge October 2005. We had the King Pole room #26. It was great. Spacious, clean and cabinlike. The room had a gas fireplace, TV (dvd),refrigerator, microwave & coffeemaker. I would reccomend bringing your own coffee. The lodge was close to many good restaurants and only a few miles from the casinos. I would definately stay there again. Ed in the office was very pleasant and accomodating.

Our room #44, was so nice, with a fireplace, and so clean.. wow, even under the sink and behind the tolit were spotless. The decor was very nice, and the motel is owned by vets. They were so helpful, and Mrs. Wright was so helpful in showing us how to get around. She also does the interior design and is the maid...

Horrible place. Bed bugs and insects. Room not clean. Even garbage bag was not replaced, it had earlier people's garbage in. Very strong smell of wet carpet. Tiny room. Everything very old. Shower stall is very small and not adjustable shower head, and water runs up on the wall. Bad place, will ruin your vacation.

We just happened in as we were looking for a nice motel for an overnight stay to go hiking the next. The quaint exterior aesthics drew us in and we were delighted to see the rooms were as tastefully done. Everything was immaculate clean and well maintained. The service was excellent. This motel definitely reflects a pride in ownership and is far more than just a "bed and a shower." The pool and spa were also very nice. We want to come back and use the fireplace when the weather cools down. Thank you to the proprieters for a very nice visit.

It was very late and my wife and I had purchased an automobile in California, and we were very tired. When we arrived in South Tahoe, we had no idea where to go and stumbled upon this little gem. Ed was awake when I entered the office, and ensured that it was alright to pull a pickup and trailer into the lot, which was reassuring for me, and when we went into the room(26), we were very surprised to see that it was quite a bit like the accommodations at Jasper, Alberta(Pocahontas) where we stay in Canada for our mountain getaways in the Canadian Rockies. We only stayed for 1 night, but when we are back in California, we will stay at the Tahoe Valley Lodge.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Tahoe Valley Lodge, it was super clean and all the wood work was done by hand. The theme rooms are beautiful and the owners were very helpful in planning our vacation. They had free tanning, free phone and internet wireless, and gas fireplaces in all the rooms, We look forward to skiiing season, they have the best rates for Sierra and our vacations was awesome and we plan on returning soon...

We loved this place. It was an unexpected treat! The room was clean and cozy and well-maintained. The owners were always around and available and clearly take pride in their business. The owners were very accommodating. The wifi always had a strong signal. The location was convenient to the lake and camp Richardson. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends if they're looking for a charming hotel instead of the big loud glitzy casino. OH! And the towels were really soft!!!

Enjoyed the stay at Tahoe Valley Lodge. Staff was friendly & polite. Ed cleaned the snow off of our car & plowed the lot daily. Very knowledgable of the area & offered discounts to resorts & local restaurants. Room was a little small but we didn't go there to sit in the hotel room all day so it was fine with us.

We stayed in clean rooms with great service for 4 nights. The lodge staff gave us great advice to go and ski at Sierra at Tahoe. I agree with their recommendation. Stay at this lodge with your family and ski at Sierra. Also, I recommend asking Tammy at the lodge to help you out with a couples massage. Fireplace in the room was an extra unexpected bonus.
