Detailed Reviews
"We've stayed at Heavenly Valley Lodge twice now, and both times the experience has been exceptional. The atmosphere of the hotel is cozy and welcoming. We've stayed in both the King and Queen rooms, and each time, the environment was quiet and relaxing. The location is perfect—just a short distance from the ski slopes, beach, and nearby restaurants, making it incredibly convenient for all activities.
The staff is equally impressive. We had the chance to meet Rosie and her cleaning crew, and they were all incredibly friendly and professional. Their attention to detail and dedication to keeping everything spotless made our stay even more enjoyable.
I also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, who is polite, kind, and a real problem solver. He truly cares about his business, and it shows in every detail of the lodge. We wish him all the best and look forward to returning!"

This was a lovely little lodge. So happy we didn't pick one of the big resorts. You can pick your room and the fireplaces make it a perfect romantic getaway. Glenn (property manager) helped us choose rooms furthest from the road. You park right in front of your room for easy access. They are cozy and quaint with a comfy bed, nice linens and basics in the kitchen area including coffee. There's a firepit and tables in the outside area for eating/relaxing. Even though there is no on-site personnel, there was immediate response to text and clear directions for check-in/out. The housekeeping staff was great! We loved HVL and would highly recommend it! Excellent value!

We loved our stay at the Heavenly Valley Lodge. My husband and I had a long weekend planned to visit a client and friend and found this amazing place thanks to a friend's recommendation. Michelle, who runs the lodge, was the nicest person and helped me get some groceries when she realized I was without a car for the first couple of days. How incredible! Can't say enough nice things about the people and the service. On top of that, the lodge itself is so cute; very nicely decorated and clean; nice big kitchen where you can sit and enjoy your breakfast or coffee. The outdoor areas are amazing with sitting areas, a fire pit and grassy areas, and the smell of Pine trees is wonderful. We will definately be back! Thanks again for a great weekend!

we booked our rooms there was a listing of the amenities on site. Breakfast included , Bar etc.
Neither of these were accurate. When we checked in 2 nice ladies were just finishing cleaning rooms and told us that there was no live contact once they left for the day. Anything we needed would have to be done digitally or by calling the number on our reservation. Should there be a resort fee for this? No absolutely not.

I sent two emails per their instructions to cancel my reservation but heard nothing back. So, I called to cancel and was connected to some kind of service. The person who answered really should not be working with the public and said I should wait 72 hours for a response. When I told her it had been about two weeks, she sounded very annoyed, never apologized for the delay, and finally begrudgingly took my info. Then she said the manager would call me and there would be a $25 "processing fee" for cancelling. When I told her that is inconsistent with the written cancellation policy she kept talking over me, reading from a script and said she had no visibility to the information or to my reservation. Huh? This may be a great place to stay but I'll never experience that after this initial experience. I don't know if the manager will call me or not. Even if he/she does, what an inefficient and unfriendly way to process reservations. Sheesh.

This was a wonderful home base for us on a recent snowboarding trip to Tahoe. We got in late and Michelle made it super easy for us to just crash when we got there. The room was super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, homemade right in front of us. Garrett was really friendly and helpful. It was a great location we just jumped on the shuttle to take us to Heavenly Village, no stress with driving or parking. I highly recommend this place and hope to return!

After considering several properties of where to stay, we chose The Heavenly Valley Lodge. This lodge is a VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) and has no personnel on site for assistance. The lodge was purchased by an investment group in 2019 and has completed the renovation of some of the rooms. Having new owners, some of the information and photos found on websites are before the current owners acquired the property and may not be accurate today.
It was apparent that our room had recently been renovated with all new cabinetry, furniture, a very firm bed, microwave oven, ceiling fan, a gas fireplace, new shower stall, chair height toilet and a pedestal sink. There was plenty of parking close to the room. Overall, the property is in a beautiful setting and the rooms are clean, quiet, and well maintained.

It was old and not very well taken care of. It was unusually hot and we had the windows open as far as we could. The screens were bent so bugs could get in. Bathroom was tiny. It was cleaned as well as old furniture and rugs can be. We were disappointed and won’t be going back

Our room was tiny; the king bed filled it. The side of the bed near the entry door had no night stand because it would have blocked the door from opening. Don't know where that picture was taken because I didn't see any area like that. There was no desk; the only "chair" was a round stool pushed against the fireplace. Shower was a small stall shower. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot but the only place to sit was that stool or the bed. The wiring was questionable since multiple power strips were used.
If you're going to spend only one night and no time in the room, then this is OK. Guess we got what we paid for--- small price (under $200) and small room.

The hotel experience was completely contactless. Our room was switched from my original choice due to “repairs” without notice and was only explained after I asked. We were placed in the room closest to the road and it was a bit noisy and the shower leaked. You can walk (about) a mile into town to avoid parking but the sidewalks were not available the entire way. The room had a picture hung that still had the photo that came with the frame and the fan was not wired correctly. The photos gave me higher expectations.
