Detailed Reviews
Location of hotel is good, close to beach which they give you passes to get into the private beach. Regarding the food, we were there back at the end of July they were not on the watch list. So they have juices, snacks and cereals, so no hot items. Once you enter the room they are not going into your room to clean, they can provide clean towels but would need to call housekeeping. Rooms were okay, nothing fancy but the price is a little high for what we had, I guess I wasn't too much of a fan of their decor. The only thing that was driving us crazy was the light in the bathroom, kept turning off when we were showering because of motion sensor. If you use the other light in the bathroom, it was like turning on a heater, it was summer time. Besides that the service was friendly.

First visit to the Station House and will definitely be returning! Unlike other accommodations in South Lake, this place feels like you’re actually on vacation with redesigned rooms that are cozy and modern. The design detail - from the ski hooks and comforters to the lamps with USB ports - just shows a lot of thought was put into this. It’s also more secluded than other motels yet still close enough to walk everywhere (car barely used). The staff is super friendly and helpful, and pointed us to some nearby sledding for our little one and great restaurants down the street (for takeout or eating outside). While we didn’t ski, the gondola is a 10 minute walk and so is the lake. Also, felt very safe re: Covid. Masks were on, distance maintained, interactions limited, etc. highly recommend!

When we checked in, Stacey, at the front desk, was super friendly and professional! Our room was really clean, beds comfortable, more than enough towels, and body wash, shampoo, and conditioner filled to the max for use. The A/C worked just fine and at night we did not hear a lot of noise. The nice thing about this hotel is that it was a 10 minute walk to Lakeside Beach (guests can get a complimentary pass), and 15 minute walk from the main street of shoppes and restaurants. The breakfast in the morning had wrapped up fruits, granola bars, juice and milk boxes, hot coffee, oatmeal and cereal boxes; it was really good! It was easy to park and we really enjoyed our stay! We will be back for sure! :)

They fixed their website to make it clear who gets beach passes and who doesn’t. Although when I booked they did not specify between booking direct or through a third party. I believe the front desk said you can still buy them for $12 per person from the desk. So consider that when comparing booking options.
First impressions of the hotel weren’t the greatest but I was pleasantly surprised with the stay. Beds/pillows were very comfortable. I booked the Jasper suite and am thankful that I did. We really appreciated the extra room and being able to close the bed room door and go into the living area while we adjusted to the time change.
We utilized the pool one day which was really nice. Kids there really enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed laying out and avoiding the beach crowd. The location of the hotel is great. All staff was very nice.
It was surprisingly quiet at night. We were on the first floor but weren’t bothered too much with people above us or noise from the parking lot.
The only complaint is the bathroom door. It’s a sliding door with a latch that doesn’t shut all the way. It only locked shut like 10% of the time. They need to change the door system. Plus when you shower water gets all over the whole bathroom because only half of it has glass.
Other than that I would recommend this property.

We stayed here a year ago right after the ownership change and it wasn’t the best experience.
However this time was an entirely different case! The room renovations are complete and they are quite impressive. I liked the camping motif and the new shower and bed were excellent! The room is very quiet and the curtains do an excellent job of keeping the light out for late sleepers.
The front desk personnel are professional, customer service oriented and friendly.
We will be back!

We had a great stay at the Station House Inn last week. We were initially in an Air BNB booked by family and it was not up to par. I booked online through my credit cards points portal and was able to get a very early check in for a small fee. From the first interaction through the final bill staff was so friendly, attentive, and kind. The room was very clean and comfortable. Air conditioner was ice cold and the room has a small refrigerator. The rates were very reasonable and we even were able to add an extra night for a reasonable rate. We loved the pool the restaurant and the outdoor fire pit and swing area. The hotel is pet friendly and that was a lifesaver when our air BNB didn’t pan out and we had our dog with us. The hotel is also a short walk to all the happenings in Tahoe. There is a walking path across from the lobby that cuts through some apartments and makes it an even Shorter walk. All in all it was a great stay and the staff made it an excellent visit. Keep doing what you’re doing, we can’t wait to come back!

+1
This hotel is disgusting and expensive. There is no housekeeping. The website is extremely misleading, the pictures look nice on the website but look nothing like the rooms or the actual location. This hotel is outdated and old.
Parking was an issue, the room was dirty (the carpet was stained, see pictures) and the room was tiny. The soap/shampoo dispenser was broken in the shower. There was no breakfast and the location was just okay. The location is within walking distance of Lakeside Beach but you have to pay $30 an adult ($10 after 5:00 pm) if you want to go to this private beach. I would do your research and look elsewhere since there are a bunch of different hotels around this area that are much cheaper.

What a great time! The hotel has brand new rooms with unique chic in room decor, the beach is very close As well as casinos and restaurants, the pool area is fun time with drinks and food available(fries and wings are delicious).
The staff is kind, the hotel has free grab and go breakfast... I will be staying here from now on when in the area.

The room was nice and bed was comfortable. Dog friendly. I went while it was cold and the heater kept my room warm. The receptionists were friendly. Plenty of parking.
Location...3 minute walk to a public beach (no pets allowed). It is also in walking distance (about 10 min) to the gondola rides, Heavenly shopping center/restaurants, and hiking trails at Van Sickle Bi State Park. 30 min from Sand Harbor state park (in NV). 1 hour drive to Virginia City, NV.
Food...breakfast is from 7-10am and offers warm food, such as homemade biscuits, sausage, eggs cooked to order, cereal, breads, fruit and potatoes. For those that don't eat pork, they don't have any other type of meat. They also don't offer milk alternatives (such as almond milk). Biscuits were great tho! Food is not offered at any other time, although they do have happy hour at the bar in the evenings.
Pets...Although they are pet friendly, they do NOT have baggie stations. I had my own bags but there are very few outside trashcans to put the waste in. They charge a one time $40 pet fee.
I would definitely return!!

Booked the stay at the Station House Inn for the Christmas week. The room was very nicely decorated and cozy. We didn’t have any issue with the room but with the staff. We had to extend our stay by extra two nights because we were snowed in. On December 28th we were checking out. The office opens at 8:00 AM but no one was at the front desk. We didn’t think much of it as it snowed a lot the previous night, we thought the staff were running late. While looking through locked door, a staff member unlocked the door and asked what we needed. Told him that we were checking out and he told us to just give him the keys and he would give the keys to the other staff.
Everything was fine until January 8th when I checked my credit card. Initially when checking in, they told us that there will be $100 hold on the credit card, which will be released. Normal practice and did not think much of it at the time. To my surprise on January 8th the charge was still on the card. I thought it was an error so I called the Station House Inn and spoke to Edith on the phone. I have never been treated so rudely over the phone in my life.
She told us that when the house keeping checked the room that day, the comforter for the king bed was missing. This was outrageous and we were positive that we did not take anything. She goes on and on that people people take things from the room all time. I told her if I can dispute this, as I was positive I did not take anything from the room. She said that the she confirmed with house keeping and she was certain that we had taken the comforter. I was upset and hung up and had my girlfriend call. After my girlfriend speaking with Edith, had the fees reversed.
Its no even about the $100 but the way she assumed that we stole something in the room. If they were to have either taken the picture of the room on the day off or called to let us know, it would have made the situation a lot better. I know that they only have my words to go by, but also I only have their words to go by as well. How are they so certain that they did not make the mistake with the room numbers? The rooms were nice but not sure if I would ever stay here again! Take a picture of the room before you checkout!

yes, I believe they give you a pass when you check in.....great place to stay !!!!!!!
They have a special menu for the voucher you receive. It has eggs and bacon, oatmeal, and other items. Reno is your best option to fly into.
Im am not sure we were there in the summer but the rooms have the standard hvac system for each room. You might want to take an electric blanket and request an upper room though
There are ski racks behind the doors of the room, but I don't think they have boot racks.
We have a full menu (bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc) with wait staff service. Guests of the hotel can order what they like (one menu item per person) from the entire menu. We do have a copy of the menu on our website under the dining tab.
