Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe garners praise for its renovated amenities and lively, music-filled atmosphere that caters well to families, though guests often express dissatisfaction with unexpected valet and hidden fees. While the spacious and stylish suites are generally well-received, concerns about noise and maintenance have been noted. The hotel's cleanliness stands out, yet the value proposition is tarnished by additional charges that some travelers find excessive.
Service quality appears to be a mixed bag, with commendations for friendliness contrasted by reports of slow responses. The location remains a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions and activities.

Detailed Reviews
Got a chance to stay at the newly renovated margaritaville. Formerly the Lake Tahoe resort. They really did a great job refreshing the place. The rooms are all redone with new furniture and an updated bathroom. Rooms are very spacious for my family of 3.
The lounge area is redone and offers live music by the bar which was a nice treat to hear the music from your room.
We ate at the landshark restaurant and the food was reasonably priced and tasty.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful. Especially the VALET crew!!!! We stayed during a busy weekend and they worked real hard to manage everyone and get things done in an efficient and safe manner. By far the best valet experience we’ve had during our travels.
Also the free ski valet was a nice addition to the hotel and made storing our snow gear easy and kept the room cleaner.

+1
We LOVED the new Margaritaville Tahoe. Also love that they are dog friendly. Enjoyed the live music in the lobby bar each evening. The food at the Landshark Bar and Grill was good quality and large portions. The remodeled rooms have really cute decor inside and nice wood floors in the living room area. Valet parking is underground so you car didn't end up with a bunch of snow on it. Really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!

Outstanding location but no hot water for three days, safe was broken, no microwave unless you want to pay 25 a day. Hot tub was good. Restaurants and shops in hotel were over priced. Music in the lobby was too loud and echoed into the rooms. Great pillows and bedding but housekeeping did not clean very well. Finally got hot water. Should have been comped for those three days but they did do a huge breakfast spread that was outstanding. Our breakfast was part of our group price but I would not pay 30 bucks for breakfast.

Blizzard conditions forecasted for Tahoe with extreme travel adviseries and the hotel would not transfer my nights to another week.
People are being advised to not travel to the Tahoe area and warned they may be stuck there for 5 days with no power or heat if they do (I’m sure the hotel has a generator, but power outages likely in the area due to 45 mph winds and 4-6 FEET of snow)
I decided to not risk my families lives and not drive in a blizzard tomorrow for my daughter’s 20th birthday. (Leap year baby)
I asked if I could move my dates to next week after the storm passes and I would pay a fee to the hotel if needed, but since I chose the non-refundable reservation this is not allowed and I am out $600!!!!!
Make sure you pay the extra $$$ to get a refundable room.
I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel.

We spent 3 nights at the Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe mid-November. I wasn’t sure what to expect as the reviews were terrible under the previous ownership. I must say, we were pleasantly surprised! The rooms were very clean and well appointed, each one is a suite with bedroom, bathroom, small “kitchen” area with coffee maker and fridge and a decent sized living room. The unit has 2 TV’s and a safe and was cleaned on a daily basis to a high standard. The rest of the hotel was basically a vast atrium with streams and ponds with multiple-colored flowers, like outdoors, but indoors. We enjoyed drinks at the “license to Chill” bar and listened to the nightly entertainment. I would say that this will be our Go-To place to stay for future visits, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location cannot be beat!

The resort is nice and well kept. Every night they have a musician in the lobby that sings and plays the guitar. The pool and hot tub are very nice and relaxing. My wife and I were put on second floor and our view wasn’t the best. Just beware of their hidden fees such as resort fee $50 per day, parking valet $29 per day which you have no choice, 14% resort tax. This adds up to $86 per day and $344 for four nights which is pretty pricey.

Over Labor Day weekend 2024. We were greeted by the front desk agent Luis. Luis was very helpful. Explain all the amenities and was able to check us in early. We stayed in a handicap room and liked the shower very much. It was easy to get in and out of for my husband who has mobility issues. The place has been refreshed For the margaritaville style and really thought it looked nice. We have previously stayed at this property when it was an embassy suites and when it was Lake Tahoe resort. We enjoyed Margaritaville the best. We ate in the restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious and the service was very good. We also ordered room service and enjoyed that as well. We did not look at the pool so I can’t tell you anything about the pool. We did not try the breakfast and I thought $30 for breakfast was a little expensive. They had a $15 continental breakfast option but we did not , have breakfast on the second floor. We chose this property because it was dog friendly and we saw that many people brought their dogs. We do not end up bringing our dog but know that it would be easy to do in the future. Luis provided excellent service. He was also our agent when we checked out. The valet were very friendly and very quick. It’s not to say that there weren’t lines at peak times but they handled them quickly. On Saturday and Sunday night they had live music in the lobby that is pipe through the speakers in the hotel in the public areas. We enjoyed the live music very much. We will definitely be staying here again.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's within 2 blocks away from the Heavenly Gondola which I only discovered now. This helps reduce the stress in booking parking reservations and waking up early to get to the Heavenly site. Parking is valet only and it's underground parking. It may be a bit of a wait getting into the hotel during peak time. The entrance is the street light before Harrah's hotel. There is an indoor pool that we didn't try. The room is very spacious with a separate room for couch-sitting and a second tv. There is a bar area with its own sink and a refrigerator below. There is also a dining table with 4 chairs. Plenty of room for families to stay, bring in their equipment, let it dry. We didn't care too much about the view on the 2nd floor which was not a view at all. I'll take this room over the other pros that I've cited. Bathroom has a large sink covering end to end with two separate faucets. Pretty awesome!

This was our first time staying at a Margaritaville resort. This is a converted Embassy Suites. Complete remodel as rooms felt new and decor much brighter throughout resort.
Great location right on Lake Tahoe Blvd. Many attractions, restaurants, casinos and shops less than a 5-minute walk away. Resort has an indoor pool but also an outside terrace for those wanting to work on tan. Landmark Bar and Grill is a casual restaurant with seating inside, outside or at bar which also has outside and inside seating. Wide variety of menu items for all tastes.
JWB Prime Steak and Seafood is more upscale and a little pricey. Food was very good and make friends with Ann at the bar.
There is a License to Chill Bar in the atrium with live music at night. It is not open every day.
They offer a breakfast buffet Wednesday thru Sunday that was very good. It was open 7 to 11 when we were there.
There is also a small shop open during the day for coffee, smoothies and snacks.
Everyone we met (except one) who worked at hotel was very friendly and made you feel welcome. Only person was front desk worker who when asked about recommendation for spa services just said Google it. We were very impressed with the bartenders we met as all were attentive and had great sense of humors.
Parking is valet only.
Prices for rooms was reasonable considering all rooms are suites.
I believe there are only a few rooms with views of the lake.
We had a great time during our 5 nights there and will definitely go back.

The hotel has been renovated nicely. It used to be an old embassy suites. The rooms are actually suites and have a separate room with a couch, not a sofa bed. There was only one person working at the counter and always a long line checking in. When I reserved the room two months prior there was no mention of valet parking. This added about an additional $50 per day with tipping if you use your car 2 to 3 times per day. There is no mention of valet parking or a daily valet charge , even on their own website, when you book a room. This is also a dog friendly hotel except my wife and kids are all allergic to dogs. They do not have differentiate non-pet from pet friendly rooms. Our room was fine but it could be a problem. There was supposed to be a $35/day resort charge but it is $40/day. The location is convenient to the casinos and ski lift.

Yes, there is a concierge in the corner in the lobby and they can help you. But beware of their timeshare ploys. There are also numerous places down the street by the heavenly gondola that can help you with your activities.
Yes. You take the gondola up to the ski area and then down at the end of the day.
Yes, there were treadmills in the gym.
