Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our relaxing stay in cozy cabin #5. It’s a cabin so don’t expect luxury accommodations. Full kitchen—including all the cooking supplies(bring your own food, of course). Small gas stove/fireplace. The futon and chair covers need to be cleaned or placed. Some of blinds need to replaced (some slats are broken or missing)for more privacy. We did have to buy wood-chips for our walkway to keep from slipping on the ice, but that was fine. There are multiple cabins in same area so it was a challenge finding ours (and cabin numbers are not visible) . Plan to return in spring/summer.

This mobile home cabin is centrally located in a quiet mobile home park. 3 adults, 2 teens and 2 children slept comfortably there four days. Beds were comfortable and living room was adequate. The dishes, cups and pans were very dirty, (no dishwasher) and the bathroom needed some serious scrubbing. For the price and location I'd come back but I'd bring gloves and cleaning products.

The cabins are modular homes made to looke like a log cabin. They are fully equipped with just about everything you need. Except we did need to go out and purchase extra toilet paper and soap. The cabins are centrally located near the Y and very close to shopping, dining, and a Starbucks. The beds were comfortable and there were extra blankets. There was an extra comforter in the closet that was very dirty.
My biggest complaint would be that there were not chairs on the patio to sit In and enjoy the outdoors. The bbq and table looked like it was closer to the cabin on the other side and those guests used it and we weren't able to use it at all.
Oh- one more thing- it was a little dirty. There was dirt under and behind the sofa and beds.
I would return again - I will bring extra soap, toilet paper, chairs, and our little bbq.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. WE have stayed here more that once and thought ok we
will give them another chance. We too got many excuses for the filth and dirty beds. First it was bad house keeping , then it was just a over look. But come on, sheets that
have other peoples things still in them. They came in and made the beds WITHOUT washing any sheets. The manager him elf will sleep in the beds and then rent them WITHOUT washing. chap stick still under the pillow , socks in the sheets, carpet so dirty it looks as if it has never been vacuumed They don't clean these and don't care . Once they get your money they just don't care!!!!!!

2nd cabin: as dirty as the 1st one but without mouse....(nobody had clean it for months)
3rd cabin: still dirty but as we had paied in advance we had not choice but to accept it... Its a shame as the location is Nice... But I would not go back there....so disapointing...

Response from CedarPines, Manager at Cedar Pines Resort
Responded 07 Sept 2014
Thank you for your review, I am so sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay. At the time of your stay Tahoe was having issues with mice, this year was the worst. Since your stay we have hired a exterminator company to come out regularly to make sure we don't have a pest or spider problem again. We have also recently hired a outside cleaning service that has had excellent reviews and we and our guest are very satisfied with this company. We would like ask you for one more chance and we will give you one night free stay. Sincerely Douglas, Manager Cedar Pines Resort

This is a great choice if you are looking for the feel of a cabin but near to shopping and conveniences. With vaulted ceilings and big upper windows looking out on towering pines it felt like being out in the woods. The cabin was clean (although the bathroom floor needed a good scrubbing) and well stocked with everything you need including dishes, coffee maker, and extra linens. Beds were comfortable and there were lots of lights (something often lacking). It was quiet and everything worked. It was comfortable for 2 of us but I would not want to try and fit 6 people! Although there is not a an office/concierge/recreational facilities on site, Doug, the manager, was very responsive to any questions about how things worked. All in all a great choice and I would recommend staying here. I would also recommend Tahoe Treetop Adventure Park at the Granlibakken Resort near Tahoe City.

Beautiful place, reasonably clean, could use a few repairs (kitchen sink almost unusable). Only complaint: nowhere are a $100 cleaning fee and $50 pet fee disclosed! Confirmation email from hotwire mentioned cleaning fee but reservation was already nonrefundable. Property owner absolutely unwilling to compromise, saying we should dispute with hotwire. Hotwire disconnected four times, so I'll just dispute it with cc company.

Cedar Pines Resort was exactly what we were looking for in our get-away: A cabin with amenities that was pet-friendly in a forest setting, but not too far from civilization. I don't know how many hours I spent searching for a place that would allow us to bring our cats. One of them has an incurable blood cancer, and since we don't know how long we'll have him, we wanted to bring our pets. Many places that claim to be "pet-friendly" really mean "dog-friendly" and not "cat-friendly," so I was getting pretty frustrated. A couple of owners who actually turned us down suggested Cedar Pines Resort, so I gave them a try. Our cabin was cool. We liked the open floor plan and everything we would need was there, except food, of course. It felt like we were in the middle of nature, but we were also close to restaurants and shopping, which made it a very convenient place to stay. Since there isn't an office to check-in, you communicate with the manager via texting, and that works just fine.

I would not recommend this place for the price. There are plenty of better options in S Lake Tahoe. Definitely not what was portrayed on the website. Very small cabins just a few feet apart! Pretty far from the main part of town. Our cabin did not have a patio which I was expecting although there is a common area in the center of the property.
