Lovely stay here for the weekend. Clean and tidy hotel and very generous sized room with a lovely view of the garden. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was delicious, generous portion sizes and all beautifully cooked and presented. The only small criticism is that the restaurant staff did not seem very well organised, we waited a long time to order, then a long time again between courses before anyone came over and it was not that busy. Not a real issue for us as we were staying in the hotel but we did hear some other tables complaining.

We stayed in room 67 and we found the room very dated, styled with 80’s decor. Our bathroom had built up dirt and the shower was like a broken sprinkler and it took ages for us to shower. The bed was so hard that we could feel the springs. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and the pizza was burnt, and we had to send it back, the replacement pizza was still as bad. Funnily enough we bumped into another guest later that evening who said he wish he had sent his meal back also, when he saw we had, instead of eating it!! The grounds are so lovely, but the hotel clearly needs a refurbishment. It is a shame as the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The photos online are very misleading to say the least!

Have just returned from a wonderful, relaxing weekend break. Lovely peaceful hotel in a peaceful location. The staff were all really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and the food was delicious. We also enjoyed a jug of Pimms and cocktails in the lounge bar which were also excellent. The rooms were generous and the communal areas were also large and airy - perfect for social distancing. Everywhere was clean and fresh and the garden was lovely to sit and relax in. We also made use of the pool and spa - my friends went swimming and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a Swedish massage, which was fantastic, and just perfect to start my break - total unwind. The hotel is a short drive from Rye which is great to meander round and to find a café for a drink and a light meal. We had such a wonderful time, we're looking to make it a regular break when we need an unwind.

Stayed for a long weekend, very nice and relaxing, all the staff are super friendly, the food is great and a lovely garden. Close to the picturesque historic town of Rye and Camber sands. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Flackley Ash a few years ago and the hotel looks much better in the public areas now. The room we stayed in bought our experience down though. The pillows were very uncomfortable and our bathroom didn’t have a shower, just a shower hand set. My boyfriend is 6ft 3” and the ceiling was very low so he had to kneel in the bathtub… not what we were expecting from a 3 star hotel! I did complain but as the hotel was fully booked the receptionist couldn’t move us, which she was apologetic about. The food was delicious and we enjoyed a swim in the pool. The staff were all lovely and the hotel is in a great location for exploring East Sussex and Kent. If the hotel rooms are refurbished we would probably return.
