Very friendly staff, particularly reception staff who helped with advice on sites to see and arranging transport (at budget prices!) small pool more for cooling off. Food good value but limited in choice. Rooms very comfortable, best to have a balcony room with patio window, the humidity was very high during my stay so the air con was essential.

The hotel has so much potential but there are so many gaps that need to be refined in order to give customers a great experience. My suggestion is to get a Quality Officer who is going to check and also for them to work off a checklist so as to ensure consistency in their service.

The location is fine, entrance, reception, furniture, rooms and the food was fine. The kiddie play area as well as the reception team were excellent. Maintenance and housekeeping team were friendly.

The shortcomings are as follows:
1. Guards need to be helpful and more welcoming. In the four days we were there, they seemed extremely tired and bored. There was not much access management.
2. Rooms were clean but there were some areas that lacked a bit of detail e.g. side table and lamp stand had dust, TV stand had dust, underneath the beds, there was dust
3. Kitchen had no crockery, got crockery on the second last night after learning there was supposed to be crockery.
4. Towels were in constant short supply
5. AC did not work
6. First day, there was a loud crowd in the lobby, really gave a bad impression of the hotel. These type of situations need to be managed.
7. Smoking areas appeared to be everywhere, could smell it from my hotel room, which is a problem if exposing it to kids and also there should be no smoking in the rooms
8. Brought a cloth to wash baby's stuff, cleaning stuff took. Baby's toys disappeared as well.
9. Evening dining staff had attitude and needed to work on their mannerism
10. Outside area towards highway is dark at night. Hotel team should engage municipality for better lighting/better signage.

Overall, the hotel is lovely. The view is lovely. It just needs tweeking in certain areas.

Rooms, ok - but showing signs of wear and tear. The inclusion of a "gym/workout room" is downright misleading - most of the equipment does not work and belongs in a skip. The heaviest weights on the rack at 12.5kg. It's a total mess and they really need to sort it out and stop advertising it in the meantime.

I have stayed at this hotel over the past 4 years more especially during the Dec period. I have had stay's here that was excellent but my past experience was bad.

The lack of Covid-19 practices in terms of social distancing in the eating areas and lift are non-existence.
The level of service in the breakfast hall remains of a high standard, however, this cannot be said of the housekeeping as it was clear from the very start. On the day and time we checked-in, I requested an extra towel and it took them 6 hours and me being very aggressive to get this towel. That same afternoon I requested 2 wine glasses which were never delivered. The most disappointing thing was that I have often heard from my friends that the lamb/mutton curry is excellent. we ordered this and it was the most disappointing curry. traditional Durban curry is not sweet and cooked with potatoes and not with carrots sweetcorn...when i enquired from the restaurant i was told its traditional Durban curry...not sure what part of the Durban tradition as I grew up in Durban.

Very comfortable, superb grounds and facilities. Staff were very helpful particularly the reception crew and courtesy driver. Had a Safari booked while at this venue and the pick-up and drop off was seamless, booked through Heritage Safari Tours

The noise from restaurant and reception makes it impossible to sleep..Staff walk around and shout at the top of their voices. Guests at the restaurant laugh like hyenas all night
Rooms are nice except for this noise situation. Grounds are ok. Reception and restaurant are very near the rooms which makes it impossible to sleep

Check in was efficient. Rooms were run down. Telephones not working, showers disfunctional, cleanliness not at required standard, bedding and towels were dirty, bins were broken, safes did not work. Room just felt all round dirty. Housekeeping and Maintenance have no idea of customer service. The crockery and cutlery in restaurant were dirty and guests were complaining. Restaurant does not have a clean smell and feel to it. Food was below average, and breakfast options really bad. This hotel definitely needs to be star graded as it is in no way a four-star hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel nor would I ever go back.

What a pleasant stay at this professionally run Hotel, central to all the beaches, casinos and shopping malls, with plenty of fine dining restaurants nearby and the airport close by as well. Rooms were neat and clean. The beds comfortable and well serviced bathroom. Quiet and cozy.

Whilst the hotel is fine, the service is so bad. The staff just flat out ignored us. They are lazy and rude. Probably the worst service I have experienced in a hotel. At one point in the restaurant a waiter just pushed in and despite being told I was talking she just carried on. The food service is slow and last night one of our guests didn’t even get their order

Pleasant stay for 3 days. Mannie Govender at the Breakfast went out of his way to make sure our stay is extra comfortable. The welcome, attention and willingness to please and make customers happy is possibly the best ever example of customer service I have ever experienced in South Africa, well done Mannie!

No halal food for dining. But the cold breakfast is and most recently the eggs are prepared separately from meat products.
