We had a pleasant experience. Rooms were clean and neat. Hot water was supplied in the evening as well as the morning. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Grounds are clean, and there was wood available to buy for a BBQ.

Phoned Kalahari Rest on 16 February 2022 for accommodation for 2 adults and 1 child. Accommodation needed on very short notice. No problem. What a surprise on arrival. Beautiful camp, friendly staff and clean rooms. Food was very good. Will stay with Kalahari Rest again, when on route to South Africa.

We stayed at a campsite. They are perfect! With power and clean ablutions a few steps away. Hot water with a "donkey" but worked well. Every campsite is fenced off like a "kraal" and can easily accommodate more than one Bush caravan. The restaurant served a very nice dinner as well!

I have stayed here many times. Two years ago ,our rooms plumbing was a mess, but the camp is lovely and it was still worth the stay. This year though, it seems that things have deteriorated . I booked ahead and confirmed that the rooms would be clean, thinking that Covid may have caused some problems. Only the first few cabins were available, and the sheets in our room was clean, but had holes in them.I was still willing to oversee this, but all night long we were bothered by a family of mice- perhaps rats, one was so big. They chewed through the coffee bags and frankly, it was awful. The next morning I let the cleaning personnel know about this, and they just shrugged. There are few alternatives along this route, but at the room price one would not expect a nest of mice sharing your room.

We spent a night here and it was just ok. Our room had no loo paper, and no drinking water - it felt like it was not ready for us. The place was very busy, and two lovely guys had to cope with a very busy bar and reception, and taking restaurant orders - it was chaotic! We waited over an hour for two plates of food! (And we were the first to order). There were no lights in the dining room, no candles nothing. We used the torch on our phone to see what we were eating.
Breakfast of stale all-bran and corn flakes, and coffee was added to our bill!
We won't be back, nor will we recommend this place!

We had a very nice rest on our way to Namibia. Nice rooms with hot water and AC, very calm area and good food. What more could you ask for in the middle of nowhere. Dinner was of good quality, besides their chalets they also have space for campers. Very nice staff. Only minus was the breakfast but I assume this is die to the fact that most people leave early anyway. We will come back.

Our room was clean but a wee bit on the dark side. No shower curtain so the bathroom and toilet area got quite wet. Plenty hot water from the donkey boiler though.
The food was fine enough, dinner and breakfast, no complaints at all. Staff were friendly and helpful.
It was a good place to stay overnight on our way through Botswana to Namibia.

Stayed overnight en route to Namibia. Wish we could have stayed longer. Very welcoming! Great food. Serene and beautiful surroundings. We loved it. Chris is a special host. We will definitely visit again if opportunity arises.

Very friendly staff. Clean but basic rooms. If you are afraid of insects, you’ll be fine here (we stayed during the rainy season). Food is good but only a limit variety is available (it’s in the desert). If you’re lucky, you get to see small game right at the lodge. 4x4 or SUV is recommended to reach the lodge specially after heavy rains.

Driving the long Trans Kalahari road can get tiring and this stop over is just fantastic! It is clean, beautiful rooms and so peaceful! It is absolutely worth booking here if you are driving this long road! We will definitely stay there again!
