Baldi Hot Springs Hotel Resort & Spa is celebrated for its exceptional atmosphere, particularly the enchanting evening ambiance and well-maintained hot springs, as guests have called out. Cleanliness is a strong point, with the resort earning praise for its meticulous upkeep. The rooms offer comfort and space, although opinions vary regarding decor and housekeeping. While the variety of pools impresses many, concerns over additional costs and potential overcrowding have been noted. Service experiences have been a mix of commendations for staff friendliness and critiques of efficiency. Overall, opinions on value are divided, with some guests feeling extra charges diminish the resort's worth.

The place is beautiful and we enjoyed the hot springs, very relaxing. Lockers are available for a $6 charge and towels require a $10 deposit. Very organized and nice! Our tour included a buffet dinner which was excellent, traditional Costa Rican food. Cocktails are available at a charge but they were well worth it.

Recently went to Baldi for the day. Three adults and two kids. The good news was the kids were free, the not so good news was adults were $35/each. The resort was not busy and we had most of the pools to ourselves.

Between the heat of the day and the heat of some of the pools, the kids were having a difficult time. While this isn’t the resorts issue – it definitely limited our ability to stay more than two hours.

We were able to access all the areas and had a pretty good time. The only odd process was towels. We checked in and the woman at the desk told us we can pick up the towels in the same location as the lockers. However when we got to the lockers the towel area was closed and we needed to go back to the main check-in area to get the towels. Not sure why there was a miscommunication there. The lockers are small and would not fit a normal size backpack. We left our backpacks in the car within the resort parking lot and didn’t have any issues.

We stayed at the Baldi in a Junior Family Suite at a cost of $1,456 for 3 nights. I had to book direct because my travel agent had issues with the reservations manager refusing to work with travel agencies. That should have been my red flag. The room is nice but it is big for nothing and poorly designed for 4 people. There is poor lighting where the 2 mirrors in the room are located. The mirror for shaving and bathroom mirror are too high. One sink for a family suite. Toilet room is huge and a waste of space. No luggage racks for suitcase. No where in shower to put soap or shampoo. No seating area except bed. Not enough hooks for towels and robes. External hallway light coming from the shower window lights up the entire room at night.
No discount given to hotel guest for food, spa, and drinks. We were supported to get them though as I found out after speaking to the general manager Max Gomez. The front desk manager Mariela Mora is terrible. My wife got a massage at the spa and was not impressed. There are not that many hotel rooms on property so you would think Baldi would go out of their way to make guests staying onsite for multiple days but it seems like they are more focused on the large number of day pass users. My teenage kids enjoyed the water slides and pools but I could have come as a day pass guest and probably would have gotten better treatment. I tried to stay at Tabacon but they were full. I really wanted to love Baldi but the service was just not there for what we spent.

I spent 2 nights last week. Because I've been living in the U.S. for the last 10 years, I decided to book all meals, a spa package, and one zipline tour with the hotel. I went with my husband who is American while I am Costa Rican.
We paid for 3 buffet lunches and 2 dinners a few months before we arrived and for the tour and spa package 2 weeks before.
When we arrived, even they read in the lobby about all meals were paid they reminded me that each meal was $22.
When we arrived at the restaurant for our first lunch, the waiter did not allow us to sit down at the table until he was 100% sure we paid. He left and made us wait standing up until I approached him and showed him a virtual voucher that I paid. He couldn't say, sit down wait here while I check everything is ok.
The same situation happened to us for every meal we purchased and we had to eat in that restaurant.
I don't know if It was something related to me being Costa Rican and they prefer to treat better the American and European markets or the customer service just sucks in general.
To be fair the food was not great for $22 tag. If you want to stay at this hotel, better you stay and try to find a local restaurant with the same quality food but you'd pay less than 50% of what the hotel offers.
Another issue happened at the Hotel lobby with my spa package. The lady did not believe I had a reservation and make weird questions to make sure I had a reservation and I paid for the service.
I talked to the manager and She apologized she offered to let us stay for 2 extra hours in the room the day we left. It was good from her part and she has intentions to change the attitude but I prefer to alert the tourists about the bad service.
The hotel and the views are wonderful. The rooms are average for the price they charge.
The excursions they offered to the Arenal Volcano and the Arenal waterfalls are overpriced try to find a local person or taxi and try to do it by yourself.
The zipline tour was awesome highly recommended and the price tag was great for this one!

The Baldi Hotel resort and spa has the best hot springs that I have been to in my life: anywhere in the world. The Tabacon hot springs are good but Baldi is The Place to visit.
There are 25 thermal water pools of varying temperatures: starting with lower and going higher. it is set amidst the rain forest and most of them have waterfalls under which you can stand. You can actually see the water coming from the springs, the surroundings are luscious and awesome and there is more than enough room for the great numbers of people who visit them.
You can hear the birds chattering away and one can stay there for hours going from one pool to another of varying temperatures. Very healing and soothing.
Everything is arranged perfectly: lockers, changing rooms, all well organized, helpful staff that will give you dollars back in change, call a taxi and do their best to make everything convenient.
This was the highlight of our visit to Costa Rica. Cannot wait to go back

This hotel has a bunch of pools n a sauna powered by warm volcanic waters. Perfect place to unwind from a busy vacation day. We actually stayed at an air bnb near by, but got to enjoy the hot springs by purchasing a evening pass for around $30. There was also another option for around $50 that included dinner at their buffet. As you go higher the pools get warmer. Pre COVID they had bars in the pools but when we went in December 2020, only bar open was at the front. (Cocktails for around $10)
You are able to ask for towels. Great experience!

We visited Baldi Hot Springs as part of a private tour in La Fortuna and we were very impressed with the resort-- it is absolutely beautiful! They have multiple hot springs of varying temperatures, as well as waterslides towards the back of the resort. Some of the hot springs were a little too hot for me, but it is impressive that the water is heated to these temperatures naturally! You also have a great view of Arenal Volcano in the background. We had a great time relaxing in a couple of the different hot springs, and also getting a drink at one of the swim up bars, which was delicious. I have read some reviews that complained about the prices of the drinks, but I thought they were reasonable, especially for it being a tourist destination. $5.50 for beers, $10 for frozen mixed drinks that were served in a reasonably sized cup. I will definitely be back to visit again. Next time, I want to spend some time here at night to see all the beautiful lights throughout the hot springs. Also, we were advised by our tour guide not to go underwater due to amoeba that naturally occur in hot springs. While it is rare that you can get sick from the amoeba, the only way they enter your body are through your eyes, ears, or nose. Some people did go underwater, but we did not just out of an abundance of caution. Regardless, we still had such a great time and found the springs to be very relaxing.

On January 30, 2020, 2pm, I booked online reservation with Baldi Hot Springs with my credit card, charging $341.00. When their email came back to me. I noticed the room selection was wrong. I called the published web site telephone 1 804 462 2534. It's a sells call line! I email the Baldi and informed about the incident. I also decided 2 hours later, same day, to cancel the reservation. "I received an email from a person, named Evelyn, that she can only cancel my reservation by "Me Emailing" my credit card information." As of today, she still insisted by her emails that my reservation is a "confirmed reservation" until I sent in my complete credit card information by email. "Something is terrible wrong!!!!

Sorry Trip Advisor this is area I selected to write my comment.

This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I took a lot of time going through reviews to find the best hot springs to visit during our stay here and this place did not disappoint. It’s actually one of the largest hot spring locations in the world. And you can tell because it never felt over crowded. It was priced well compared to other locations at $70 per person for an all day pass with lunch and dinner included. There were 25 different hot spring pools to choose from, a sauna, and water slides. It was very romantic at night which is great for couples and seemed like it’d be great during the day for families as well. They have changing rooms, showers, lockers, and provide towels. You do need to provide a deposit which you will get back so bring some cash.

Truly a magical place! This was our first stop on our two week stay in Costa Rica with a 2.5 and 5 year old. It was a prefect rest and recover location. Then once we started exploring we fell in love with it! The hot springs are incredible (we live in Colorado which has many hot springs and we were shocked! These pools are beautiful, and warm with no strong sulfur smell) The water temp varies from pool to pool so you can find the one that is just right for you or how you feel in that moment. The kids loved jump from pool to pool and loved the kids slides. We check out today and we wish we could stay longer (4 night stay). The experience is unlike anywhere. The pools are connected with beautiful well maintained concrete trails that have beautiful tropical plants and trees. You feel like you’re in a tropical section of a Disney park but at Baldi all the plants and trees a real and incredible! The food could be better, the drinks could be cheaper but you are seconds away from real restaurants in La fortuna with great food and drinks, so enjoy Baldi for what it’s here for: the wonderful and unique hot spring pools!
