We stayed at the Oysterbay Lodge for 2 nights. The facility is very remote and the journey is along a long gravel road (approx. 25 km) with lots of potholes, but it's worth it! The location of the lodge is really beautiful. The beach is simply great, very spacious and you have it almost to yourself. If you see anything, you only see the guests of the lodge. We went hiking, horseback riding, fat biking and driving a beach buggy. We had a lot of fun with everything.
We had a "normal" guest room for families. Admittedly, we had better equipped rooms/tents on our tour of South Africa, but we had everything you need. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. We can fully recommend the breakfast and lunch à la carte, they were really delicious! Unfortunately, we didn't like the taste of the evening meal. Unfortunately, there was only one menu to choose from. There was no alternative. You couldn't order anything from the menu in the evening. What a shame! Since the rooms are equipped with some dishes, a sink and a refrigerator, next time we would buy a few small things before our stay and prepare dinner ourselves. It is still a great lodge that we would happily recommend and we would happily come back ourselves.

We booked in 2020 and only finally managed to get here in 2022. Being born and raised in South Africa I wanted to show my fiancé from UK my beautiful country. What a tick off to our trip! From the moment we arrived we experienced top class service with a smile and each staff member could not do enough to make our stay memorable. edwina entertained us with the best bar service, we laughed the entire time. The luxury chalet was perfect, the most comfortable bed, well thought out and the view of the sand dunes and sea was amazing! The chef Chad is highly skilled and he went out of his way to give us braai experience which we really appreciated. We squeezed as much as we could in 2 days and did the horse riding on the beach in the morning with William and his team who took us on a fabulous tour. For lunch we chose the luxury picnic delivered by horseback what a great selection of food and the location was mind blowing. For dinner Chad made a braai for us. Oh we also did dune safari that was so much fun!!
We would highly recommended Oyster Bay set on 245 Hectares with 980 different species of fynbos!

In December 2020 we took our second trip to Oyster Bay Lodge, and it will not be our last ! My wife's eyes start to glitter when I make noises of going there and my children simply adore this charming place that feels like home from home. The quaint accommodation, absolutely divine food and hospitality of Hans and his team is outstanding. I love the 10 min walk to the beach through the bush, the resident fish eagles, bush buck, the horse riding, the Oyster Catchers and the unspoilt nature and private beach. My kids ride horses every day and other amenities (golf) is 20 min away. MTB tracks, walking trails, picnics (in secluded spots), fishing (river and see) makes this place one of the gems of our country. I am booking for December 2021 soon !

As a family, we spent 2 nights at the lodge and were accommodated in a chalet that was about 5 minutes' walk from the main building. Our chalet was no longer super modern, but still lovingly furnished and clean.
The staff is super friendly, the food is top quality. There is a set menu for dinner, but adjustments can be made, especially for the kids, if these are communicated in good time.
The location is simply a dream, you can be on the beautiful, endless private beach in about 10 minutes.
There are more than enough activities on offer (we went horse riding, sandboarding and beach buggies). We felt really comfortable, which was due not only to the location but also to the very friendly staff (Amanda).

Our second visit to the lodge. Daniel at reception and everywhere else reminds us why we came back. Pristine and unspoilt veld that makes me weep at its diversity and richness . Rooms with underfloor heating and hot water that’s really hot. Fireplaces and little touches to show thought and care without it losing its low key but wonderfully authentic vibe. Everything about this place is magical and to be treasured.

We almost wanted to cancel the planned stopover on our 3-week South Africa tour because it is not in the town of Oysterbay. It is good that we stuck with it. Debbie's warm welcome showed us that we are in the right place. Even if the access is a bit challenging, every meter is worth it. The entire team, including the owner, who visits his lodge every day, impresses with their friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness to guests. You almost have the feeling that they can read your wishes from your eyes. The varied activity program ensures fun and entertainment. The excellent breakfast (you can choose two courses from the well-stocked breakfast menu) is the perfect start to the day. Only the dinner, if you really need a point of criticism, has some room for improvement - but that does not detract from the enjoyment and pleasure of being a guest there.
We leave paradise after two nights with a little sadness... Thank you for this excellent hospitality

We were here for the second time now, and again it was just wonderful! This beach! This nature! This silence! Just overwhelming! The owner, Hans, has a really great team with excellent team spirit and a strong focus on customers. Also, the discussions with Hans when we by chance met him on the trails were very nice and informative. We will definitely come back ASAP.

Had a great few days at Oyster Bay lodge. Nice and quiet after the hustle and bustle of Jeffreys Bay. Glad we were in hire car for the drive to lodge as its a dirt road, but went slowly and no problems. The beach, sand dunes and surround are stunning. Sea is very strong and good for a paddle, but did not swim - rather went for dip in pool when we got back. Lots of bird life to look at and found a little tortoise walking round when we did one of the many walks! We got there early and stayed late to make the most of our time. Food was set meal and excellent. Will go again!

We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights.
The staff is very warm and friendly.
We had a suite that was recently renovated with charm and attention to detail.
Facility: very nice and well-kept, large and spacious
Activities: they offer many activities (buggy driving, sandboarding, fat biking, hiking, swimming in the sea or in the pool)
Food: there is a fixed menu in the evening. Adjustments can be made easily if you tell the staff early on
Beach: huge beach that we actually had to ourselves.
In summary: I can only recommend a visit to the lodge.
A big thank you goes to Amanda and Bianca from the service. They were great
