First time at the Radisson Red. Corporate function stayed for two days. The hotel is sleek, functional and not skimpy. There is a bit of humour in the labels of the soaps in the bathroom. Bedroom is spacious, with a fridge and coffee station. There is iron in the cupboard. Location is great, 5 min walk to the V&A Waterfront. And room had a view. I enjoyed my stay.
Got. great reception on our first night with a free G&T and plenty of smiles and jokes. The roof bar is good, even in the service is a bit slow, but BOY does it get windy!! The rooms are scandinavian style - Sparsely furnished with style. Rooms are very comfortable, and the hotel offers great value, I have already booked my return stay at this hotel.
A great sustainable and efficient use of space. The modern architectural design lends itself to a fun and untraditional hospitality experience. The staff have a high energy level of engagement and service. The modern hotel experience is the future, as space and natural resources become more scarce.
I stayed this last week on a business trip. The hotel is clean, vibrant and welcoming. GOOD - Location, only 400m walk to the V&A waterfront. BAD - 1) Majority of the staff are miserable (and there is a lot of them). 2) Expect to wait a long time to be served, and even longer to receive your bill. 3) The menu choice is OK but some more options would be nice and maybe a dessert choice…. seriously no dessert options at all. 4) The pool is not heated and is more like a feature, as it’s in the middle of the rooftop Restaurant area with everyone eating/drinking around it. 5) Car parking is in the multi storey underneath, it’s not cheap and neither is it easy to navigate. 6) The music DJ’s on the rooftop were amazing, but I’m sure they could hear the music 20km away… and it goes on all night. 7) I had a top class suite, yet none of the rooms have “Do Not Disturb” signs, I had to politely tell the maid wanting to service my room several times to come back later… and they are persistent, it’s like they get paid per room. 8) Breakfast is a set menu with some good options, don’t dare ask for something simple like 3 fried eggs on toast, ooh…. death stare and a resounding NO. Would I stay again…. NO.…
Radisson Red is great place to stay. Perfect location with great proximity to the diamond museum and the Waterfront. Staff are friendly. Rooms are comfortable. This hotel works well if you’re mixing both business and a holiday.
