My wife and I stayed for one night at the Litchi Tree. Upon arrival (13:00) we were welcomed and led to our room by a child of 7/8 who spoke good English. Thus it started out strange. Once we settled in our spacious room and...More

My husband and I stayed at The Litchee Tree and loved the grounds, our room which was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the surroundings. Hot water and electricity were only available for a few hours but that's often the case in Madagascar. There was no...More

My husband and I spent one night of amazing respite at The Litchi Tree villa in the midst of a fascinating but otherwise somewhat arduous 3-week trip to Madagascar. The French owner and chef, Alvin, and his young assistant were the most delightful host and...More

This is a great pace to stay with comfortable rooms and a charmingly refurbished main house set in beautiful grounds. The hotel is well run and the food is superb. This is the place to stay if you are visiting the National park.

Herve, I told these recent kooky guests off! How dare they complain about prices and Madiba!! I checked on your site to see if you were okay since I haven't heard back from you. This is what I wrote to the jerky couple from the Netherlands and some other idiot. Firstly, we don't care about your bowel problems. How is that the Litchi Tree's fault? Did you ever think that the child was having fun interacting with adults? Didn't you play restaurant as a child? What better way to teach a child to interact with adults in a meaningful way and have a sense of accomplishment. She reads and writes perfect French, as well as English. The locals don't know how to read or write. Herve, the owner, adopted the child from a drug-addicted mother and has done a fine job in raising her. You are in a third world country; and because a family works together to earn a living doesn't make it child abuse. Didn't you have to help your parents when you were a young child or were you so privileged that you had servants waiting on you? I suggest that you amend your unfair review. Also, you are on vacation, who cares how expensive your drinks are? You owe Herve and Madiba, his daughter, an apology.
