Do not book The owners have no regard for their clients. They allow you to book when they know they are closed. Then they do not answer any calls and make it very very difficult to get a refund. If it wasn’t for Booking.com, I’d still be fighting with them to get a refund

We booked our New Year’s Day stay back in November through booking.com. We drove from Cape Town to Zandibela which took 6 hours. When we arrived, the gate was locked and there was no one there to let us in. There was no signal so we drove back down the road to call the property. We called over 25x with no answer. Finally, a passerby told us to follow her to the service entrance. This gate was also locked with no one around. We were able to call booking.com and they managed to get in contact with the owner. The owner advised them that they had a power outage and shut the reserve down.... The owner never called or emailed to advise us and stated they contacted booking.com but there was no record of this. We then had to drive another 3 hours to Plettenberg Bay to try and find another hotel (last minute on New Year’s Day!!!) Thankfully booking.com helped so much and we ended in a BEAUTIFUL 6 star hotel!! I’m sure the reserve is lovely after seeing previous reviews but after 9 hrs of driving on New Year’s Day and ZERO communication from the owner, I would advise you book at your own risk. We are still awaiting a refund for the stay that never happened!!!!!!

All staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We received a warm welcome from the time we arrived at the front gate and knew that we had made the right choice in accommodation. I needed a comfortable and relaxing place to stay as I was riding the Transbaviaans so this was the perfect choice. Our hosts were amazing and the nicest people ever!!!

We stayed two nights at the lodge as a family of four. We were treated with very friendly service from the word get go. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable and adequate. All meals by Chef Willem were of an extremely high quality and always served with a smile. What an unforgettable stay!

This hidden gem is possibly the best kept secret in South Africa. Chef Willem's food is of outstanding quality. The staff are impeccably neat, friendly and competent. All amenities of high standing quality, as well as brilliant Wi-Fi reception. This extremely delightful holiday exceeded our highest expectations. Will most definitely spread the word and return for more pampering in the near future. Lynette Fourie, Cape Town
