Just needed a breakaway for a couple of days. No better place to relax. Staff were friendly and efficient. Went walking every morning with a variety of routes available including the beach and the lagoon. Facilities across the board excellent

This is a place which I know since 15 years and feel like home. It is a place were the body and the mind can relax and recover. It has a specific flair , emotion and feeling. Staff is very cooperativ and focused for the guests.

We stayed at the Lodge for 5 nights during New Year. The estate is a fantastic place, well kept, and the golf course is superb! We had a balcony with a perfect view over the first and the tenth hole, with the Indian Ocean in the distance. The rooms are of a great size, and beautifully furnished. Downside would be the entrance door that offers no privacy regarding sound; you will hear everything going on in the hallway. The lodge is a quiet place, so in the end it’s not an issue.
Included in accommodation is breakfast, which offers everything you need, but be patience as it takes time to get your coffee and toasts, unless you’re served by John!
And this is the biggest problem at the estate – service. It is lacking all over. When arriving, we waited 20 minutes in the reception as the reception personnel were unable to register fingerprint for an existing guest. While waiting we were approached by three other employees, all of them unable to help us… Finally we got our key, but missed all practical information like giving us breakfast tickets, or informing us that the restaurant and the whole lodge closes at 5 pm, both new year’s eve and new year’s day!!! Even when helping us solve the problem for New Year’s Eve dinner, they mention nothing about the same problem reoccurring next day.
It is a nice place, the guys in the golf shop are very service minded, but that’s it. During our five days stay we had all of our meals at the Lodge, and not one of them were served without problems, wrong drinks, slow service, no food, the same food twice by different waiters! The advertisement says “Tailored for guests with a taste for luxury” – sorry, it is not. And the fact that it is overpriced makes it even less attractive.

I hosted my husbands 40th birthday party at this venu on the 10th of November 2023 and today its the 8th of December 2023. I informed the venu that the dessert was never served at the party & i am still waiting for my refund almost a month later! furthermore - i arranged setup of the venu for 18pax with a hired professional decor company only to have everything moved around when i left the venu to go get dressed- when i asked the venu to move it back i was told the staff already left for home! uncalled for , stress me out, on my function day! i paid in the security plus full deposit in timelines given yet their turn around time is absolutely appauling!

We booked four nights combining a work and leisure trip. So many things went wrong so I will simply list them.

We arranged a late check-in, however upon checking in we received no information on the hotel, no map of the grounds, no vehicle access control and no free wifi as advertised. Two days later we discovered it all by our own enquiry.
Our room was prepared for one person only, not two.
The room (number 4) was extremely noisy as every sound from the reception could be heard.
Our room was not serviced the first day- the cleaning lady said she forgot.
Toilet Flushing mechanism were broken, you had to lift the tank lid to flush.
The bathroom was not clean - mould in shower corners, bath greasy etc.
Towels were not smelling fresh and had brown marks/stains.
Bedding had brown stains.

When we filled a glass for drinking water, it was light brown, however not enough bottles of water was supplied to compensate for the lack of clean drinking water. At the time we thought the water may only be discolored from plant roots and therefor assumed water in the shower was acceptable.
However after running a bath on the third evening, the water was full of brown particles. We then realized that we have been showering in dirty water all the time. The housekeeping lady advised that she had reported the problem to management a week prior but nothing was done to resolve it. In our discussion with the manager he stated they fixed the heat pump which caused the problem a week earlier and has no idea why it was still occurring.

The final straw was when, on the last day getting ready for work, there was no hot water. Again the manager simply said that he doesn't understand why.

Two staff members however, stand out: The chef who accommodated a delicious late dinner on the evening of our arrival, and John the waiter who gave good service.

As for the manager, no effort was made to either compensate or rectify the situation or change our perception of very disappointed paying guests.

Great location with superb view. Beautiful and spacious rooms but not well appointed - they had aircon but no fridge and some had no tv. Some of the bathrooms need to be re-done - they seemed quite old - and the water was brown. The golf course is amazing, extremely well cared for, and we loved one of the beaches. But the pool wasn't great considering how many people were around wanting to use it.

The biggest problem was the service - the food was good, especially the curries! But the time we had to wait to be served, the way we were welcomed and the staff's attitude towards service verged on the ridiculous.
We felt quite sorry for them as it seemed they were undersytaffed - but it seemed it had more to do with disorganisation, a lack of coordination and a terrible lack of teamwork - with seemingly no person being willing to support or communicate efficiently with their colleagues. At one point our food was brought and we had to wait for ages for knives and forks! Eventually we had to go find some ourselves!
Many of the staff were friendly and seemed to be trying hard - others were completely disinterested - and any request posed to them seemed to be an inconvenience...
Something is definitely awry with how the staff are being managed or trained, which is a pity for those who are trying their best.

Nonetheless we still enjoyed ourselves - but if we were to go back we'd try harder to find a self catering unit to rent rather than stay at the lodge.

Visited the establishment on the 9/11. Prior to visit, confirmation was received of room reservation and time of arrival. Security directed me to the lodge, waited at reception as nobody was there (after security confirming with the lodge before sending us through). The Manager was unorganized, not even knowing the reservation number or who was booking in. He proceeded to tell us of the staff turnover due to a recent break in (not exactly the banter you would want to hear before staying the night). Given our keys and we went to our room, no assistance offered. It was not the room that was reserved. Went down to reception and the staff started to look for an alternate room, staff didn’t know which room had a bath? Manager went up to check the alternate room, was told thereafter that the door is open to our room. I was given a key and then pointed to the room. This was not the room that was reserved but had all the amenities that was requested on booking. Peeling headboard, dirty soap ledge, duvet cover that had oil stain, balcony that had cracked tile and needed a scrub that’s what we found. Left the room to use the private beach, when reaching the gate...realized it needed biometric access. Called the guard gate, was told that reception would assist with enrollment/other option was the guard would open and then leave us there and then open when we called, for security reasons we didn’t want to use that option. When I got back to the lodge to enroll my fingerprint, the lady assisting was not trained on this. Nobody could help as the other staff was asked to assist. Felt bad for the staff member as she was not equipped to help and bore my frustration. Beach visit did not happen. The evening proceeded to get worse as the sounds from the restaurant travelled to the room. Piano playing and loud celebrations due to a birthday. When that subsided, could hear the staff speaking. In the morning the monkeys jumped on the roof, staff speaking and the sounds people drifted to the room. This is not the place for rest or any kind of peace. Purity and the rest of the staff was pleasant throughout the breakfast run. Norma does a good breakfast. It’s sad that the personnel bear the brunt of guests when routine maintenance, basic training and building rules have not been laid out. Management needs to do what is needed to restore this place to its former glory.

Looked authentic from the outside. Mattress was lumpy. I ordered room service. Chicken and prawn curry nothing special. Breakfast was basic . There didn’t appear to be any particular desire to provide a wow experience
