This is my 3rd trip to Iwamanzi and it gets better every time! I've been on both hunting and photo safaris and the experience is excellent. And that's more than just the animals (which are incredible!). The family hosts - Jacqeline and Stan Berger and their whole staff - are family! And you are treated as a part of that family, wanting for nothing. As you experience beyond the camp, they help and guide you to an amazing experience...from community volunteer, to hot air balloon, to golf and spa, and the awesome game drives. But back to the camp... the accommodations are perfect... authentic, yet comforts of home! There aren't enough accolades for the full staff, and the food is 5 star (higher if there was such as score). You really won't believe it. And finally, our game drive guide Jan made every minute of our game drives and adventures an education of a lifetime. This is a must do!…
Everything from the service, lodge, game reserve, staff, food (I could go on forever) exceeded every expectation. Jacqueline and Stan (owners of Iwamanzi) joined us for dinner each night and truly made us feel at home. Jacqueline (and the entire staff) were so sincere and proactive in anticipating our needs which they executed flawlessly. Last, but certainly not least, there's Jan. We would not have had the experience we did without him. We were with him most of the time as he was our game drive guide, but he also helped us in so many other ways. Jan is very knowledgeable and passionate about each and every animal as well as the reserve and South Africa. We are not hunters, but Jan also specializes in hunting safari's if you're interested. There aren't enough great things to say about Iwamanz...it was truly an experience of a lifetime! Thank you so much to every single person we encountered...Jacqueline, Stan, Jan, Stanley, Happie, Rejoice, and the rest of the team! I hope to have the opportunity to visit again!…
This is only the second time that I have written a review, so my visit to Iwamanzi must have been special. My expectations were high; my expectations were exceeded. The safari experience was superb. The field guide was extremely knowledgeable and, of importance, flexible as to our desires on a day-by-day, morning-or-afternoon basis. The lodge itself is intimate and secluded, modern and very guest-friendly. It is not uncommon to find wild game, including rhinoceroses, within minutes of the lodge. And you never knew which animals would show up throughout the day on the plateau on the opposite side of the gorge adjacent to the lodge. And the food! Outstanding! The presentations were varied and magnificent. Our dinners included game meat that I had never eaten before. But the meat was not at all "gamey". Just delicious! All of the above is topped off by a staff (and owners) who are cheerful, attentive, competent and simply on top of what needs to be done. They all became our friends. They also provided us with an education with respect to the history of South Africa, its successes, its problems and its lifestyles, as well as the importance of maintaining the wild ecosystems for the benefit of generations to come. Excellent value for the price. Lastly, BUG-FREE!! .…
My few days at Iwamanzi with friends was dazzling from start to end. You feel with every detail that the people from Iwamanzi are giving everything to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. And oh boy, they nailed it. The game driving is mesmerizing with guidance from people who are very knowledgeable and experienced. The staff is a delight to be around and the dining is a little present on your plate every day. The lodges are beautifully decorated and feel very luxurious. The hosts are amazing. Iwamanzi is a very intimate place with a lot to offer. I would recommend it to anybody and I will be back one day. Thank you so much!
Iwamanzi is nothing short of magical. The beautiful grounds, amazing staff, and deliciously impeccable food provide for an incredibly intimate and relaxing but still adventurous experience. It truly feels like home a continent away. You'll be planning your trip back before it's even over.
