Faultless overnight stay, 3 rooms booked for group of friends with evening meal and breakfast. Excellent dinner from a varied menu expertly cooked by the chef. Lovely clean rooms and a 5* breakfast. Friendly sociable staff, lovely gardens and setting. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed for 2 nights in room 17 which has a lovely little fenced off garden which the dogs really enjoyed sniffing around. Location is awesome and we walked from the gate in their garden to Lyndhurst and back across a ford where the dogs had a little swim and play. Restaurant is nice, food was also nice but limited menu and the breakfast was good, sausages very tasty. Staff we very hard working. We had one chao who seemed to be running reception, bar and restaurant the Sunday evening and he did it so well, not a sign of stress which was awesome under these covid restrictions. We will definitely be back

Our stopover en route to the IOW was very acceptable. Good points: lovely, hard working staff (thanks girls); nice eaves room with comfy bed; pleasant garden where we relaxed with a drink and a book; tasty food and nice wine. Not so good, for us: musak too loud in the restaurant; dogs in the restaurant. We understood that the hotel is dog friendly but we dislike their presence when eating.

We have just returned from a short break at Woodlands. We stayed in the small suite as we had a puppy with us and it was perfect. Beautiful room with a conservatory and direct access into the large gardens. A small gate onto the beautiful Forrest was an added bonus. We had an afternoon tea on our first day which was amazing and certainly worth doing. Breakfast outside in the garden as the weather was beautiful. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here and we can’t wait to return in August.
