Come and spend an unforgettable vacation in Tuscany! Stay in our 1600's farmhouse beautifully restored with an incredible view of the green heart of Italy. Set on a hillside with commanding views of the valley and mountains beyond ... more than one guest has broken into a chorus of Sound of Music! It's that beautiful... Please have a look at our pictures, check us out with google maps (who can offer that privacy and views???) and read about our beautiful corner of Tuscany. We are sure you'll love it as much as we do. We found Priello 25 years ago and instantly had to have it. It was the kind of property that made us sing in unison "THIS is the one!". Four years later after lots of work and dreaming and laughing and wondering if we had made a huge mistake we opened Priello as a bed and breakfast and for 10 years a good time was had by all. More recently we started renting our beloved Priello as a weekly holiday house for guests to enjoy and make it their own. The entire farmhouse sleeps 14 but we also offer accomodation in single (double ot triple) apartments or a portion of the farm. Sooooo... Priello it's the perfect place to spend a week as a couple, family or group, accomodating between 2 and 14 people.

We, 2 couples, stayed for a week at Priello and had absolutely excellent weather, including a full moon. We had Priello to our selves and enjoyed every minute. Absolute seclusion is well worth the somewhat steep driveway. Priello is well located for visiting northern Tuscany, especially in the Spring shoulder season when everything is very green. The on-site manager was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Priello is a hidden gem: Imagine staying in your own secluded farmhouse overlooking the magnificent valley of the headwaters of the Tiber, surrounded by pines, fig trees, cypresses and rural bliss! The accomodation is a multiple-story stone farmhouse, outfitted with kitchen and magnificent dining and living room, lots of upstairs bedrooms. The pièce de résistance is the pool with its incomparable panoramic view of the east, barbecue and the lovely horseshoe priellos on the stonework. For exclusive peace and quiet and to get away from it all there is nowhere like Priello!

This is a place to get away from it all, enjoy the views, quiet (okay the birds were singing) and charm of a centuries-old building. A place to reconnect with family and friends if you’re travelling with a group. All bedrooms, kichen, and common rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and untensils. We visited in October so the large pool was covered and unavailable, but that would be a plus for a summer visit. Another plus is the proximity to Anghlieri, a hill-top fortess town with good restaurants, outdoor places for a coffee, glass of wine or really good thin-crust pizza, museums, a small supermarket for supplies, and a self-serve lavanderia when you know you’ve run out of clean clothes. In November the town celebrates an Appenine harvest of sorts.

Downsides? Some might find the last km of the road up to Priello overly rough (we recommend arriving before nightfall on your first visit as the Priello road signs are a little hard to see and the last bit takes about 10 minutes alone). And be forewarned, while there are towels, toilet paper and hand and dish soap supplied, other starting basics are missing, e.g. salt, sugar, dish washer powder/tabs. No microwave and the WiFi is a little slow, but hey, you’re there to get away from it all!

We spent a week here this summer and absolutely loved it. The driveway is fun and you need an experienced driver head but everything else from the view to the pool to the night trying to cook in the pizza oven was amazing.

We stayed here recently for 8 nights for our honeymoon. We had a wonderful stay, we arrived very late and without notice and Edit and Zoltan were incredibly warm and hospitable given the late arrival. We were greeted with a basket of supplies including homemade limoncello and a beautiful tart. We chose to stay in the smaller guesthouse as I found it cosier for the two of us. The loaction is perfect - right in the heart of Tuscany - it feels very remote with access via a 'rustic' road (not for the fainthearted) but it is within easy reach of lots of beautiful towns (Anghiari - 20 minutes) and Florence, Siena, Bologna are all a manageable drive (1.5 hours). The views from our terrace were magnificent and our hosts supplied us with sun loungers and a table and chairs from which to enjoy it. There is also a pool set onto the edge of a hill, again with amazing views, but this is only open in the warmer months. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend it. It was the perfect combination of relaxing and rural whilst being within easy reach of lots of beautiful Italian sights.

Priello was enchanting-we loved this old, spacious house— what a wonderful place. Kudos to your work!
Francesco was the perfect host — so helpful and friendly. He and Olivia cooked a delicious dinner on the day we arrived from Rome, and we were able to get to know each other right away. Their hospitality was fantastic.
The beautiful medieval hill town of Anghiari…was it even real? Wow— we loved it. Anghiari is a scenic 30 minute drive from Priello. If you happen to go in the month of May, don’t miss the early morning Stampanatta tradition in the town square. Just down the road from Anghiari, the nearby town of Sansepolcro was a convenient place for groceries, as well as an art and history destination.
We went to the Ravagni olive mill (even closer to Priello), where Francesco, who owns and operates the mill, described the mill processes.
Thanks to our hosts, we were also able to visit their goat farm and dairy and meet Stefano, the farm manager. Although he had very little advance notice of our visit, Stefano graciously showed us around. The goat farm setting and modern milking room were impressive. A beautiful, well-run farm with very lucky, healthy animals. We got to sample the goat cheese that Stefano offered! Delicious!
Priello’s mountain top setting commanded views of the valley below—all the way to Lago di Montedoglio. This is a vista we enjoyed every evening from Priello’s back yard and fields. A nearby hiking trail led us on a 4-5 hour walk through the woods above Priello. We went all the way to a mountain-side chestnut grove and then walked down the mountain through an abandoned village of stone houses. We came out below Priello in the distance and meandered our way back up the hill.
We were lucky to meet our friendly Napolitano neighbors—who were also vacationing— while navigating the one-lane mountain road. Later, we met them again at Caprese MIchaelangelo museum—another great day trip from Priello.
SO many more wonderful places, museums, towers, etc., that we visited and enjoyed—too many to list. We had a great trip and it was fantastic to stay at beautiful Priello and have your suggestions and ideas.
Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I am writing in English and hope I am understanding the Italian well enough. There is a part of me that is uneasy writing because we were so happy at Priello that I think this will sound like an advertisement. When we wrote in the Guest Book we had 45 speciific things we thought were wonderful. That said: the house is lovely and homey. The area is so beautiful that some of us didn't want to leave the property to tour the area. Zoltan and Edit are most wonderful managers. If you come to stay there you should order one of their delicious meals served at your table. They go out of their way to the point where Zoltan used the house compressor to get air into the flat tire of one of our cars. The house is clean, the kitchen a joy in which to cook. We missed having a washing machine but know there are water issues in the area. We like that this is a place with animals. You must hear the research that Zoltan shares about the Etruscan history of Priello. The pool is wonderful.

We spent a perfect week at Priello, forgetting all about work and city life. The buildings are located in the Tuscan hills on the side of a valley full of wildlife. Deer wandered just below the pool, birds everywhere, fireflies and gloworms made the area like a Christmas tree at night. I even saw a porcupine on the hill above the farm. Zoltan and Edit were perfect hosts - friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner they prepared for us on one night. The pool was an ideal size and well used during this hot week. Small shops close by. One on the main road at Caprese sold good bread as well as being a general store. More shops and Supermarkets at the picturesque towns of Sansepolcro and Anghiari. Very convenient for those following the Piero della Francesca trail. The long road up to the farmhouse is a bumpy ride but we didn't feel the need to leave the attractions of the house, pool and surroundings very often.

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at Priello in one of the apartments, and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location is amazing, the pool lovely and our accommodation was clean and well maintained. We received a warm welcome from Toni and Peter, and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed delicious freshly cooked dinners on a couple of evenings, served on our terrace and prepared by the amazing Laura! Great value and no washing up!

We would strongly recommend a visit if you are looking for a secluded escape, and will definitely be returning.
