Sansi Kendwa Beach Resort is often celebrated for its welcoming and clean environment, complete with engaging entertainment options. Guests appreciate the spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms, although there are occasional calls for bathroom renovations and more accurate online depictions. While the resort's amenities generally receive positive remarks for their maintenance, some visitors suggest enhancements to the all-inclusive offerings and room furnishings. Opinions on value differ; active travelers see it as cost-effective, but others point out service and amenity shortcomings. The staff, however, consistently earns accolades for their exceptional service and friendliness.

Arriving at the hotel.. we were greeted by the most warm welcoming staff from the moment we stepped in.
Super thankful.. Zachaio was the person who opened the door as we walked in and this person is smiling 100% of the time.
Reception staff.. Sandra checked us in. Extremely professional and very friendly. Even gave us a room upgrade.
There is a tour agent who met us after check in, his name is Abdullah (i was amazed at how many languages he speaks) and how sweet and friendly he is and offered us different options for tourist trips.. all are very well organized and we booked 3 trips.. enjoyed every moment.. the tour guides he booked us with were amazing also multilingual and so knowledgeable. Much recommended.
Our favorite part was the food… there was absolutely nothing I didn’t like, and i am very picky with food. The restaurant staff are the most hospitable.. they even made sure to discuss with my friend before every meal (we had an all inclusive package) , since she had many diet restrictions and they still made her special food every single day. We are super grateful, the chef, each and every restaurant staff. Jackson who was supervising the service always.
There’s also an entertainment team at the resort, Johnson from that team was super fun to be around.
Cheked out by Mohamed at reception and it was very smooth and he was super friendly.. we felt sad to leave :)

A big thank you guys for making our vacation so memorable

The location was excellent.
Staff was excellent.
Short walk to main beach for great swimming.
Great relaxing area outside the hotel on the beach.
The views from restaurant was amazing with the turquoise waters a stone throw away.
Restaurant was okay. Themed dinner nights were interesting.
Many other restaurants also walking distance along the beach.
Evening/night time activities/shows were interesting at the resort.

Suggestions/Disappointments :

I booked through bookings.com. Advertising between bookings.com and the resort needs to be better and and more accurate. I had paid quite a bit more for the ocean front room with sea view. On bookings.com the pictures showed upstairs room with good view. When I got to the resort I was allocated the ground floor which was still ocean front as it was the closest room to the beach but I had a 10% view of the sea from the balcony as there were trees blocking the view. If I had known I would have just booked the cheaper room.

It would be nice if more furniture is available in the room especially if it is the most expensive room in the resort - indoor chairs, mirror in room for dressing up.

Small changes in breakfast daily to add more variety could make for a better dining experience.

Overall the stay was good and we had a wonderful time in Zanzibar.

We stayed for three nights at the end of our two week stay having previously staying at (Diamonds Mapenzi Beach).
First of all our room was right next to reception, you could literally see the desk. The room was very small and dark. It had a small patio without any chairs or table. The rooms are right next to each other and opposite room with full room only about 5-6 meters apart.
The food (All-inclusive) was poor. Every day we stayed there was usually 1(max 2 if lucky) selection of meat available. It seemed every other meals they served bland meatballs.
The other negative thing for us was there no sense of privacy. Constantly somebody walking bast our room, noise and the beach beds were all next to each other.
We had a early check-out on our last day (2:30 AM) and asked if they could give us some breakfast for our trip. When i asked if they could give us maybe some sandwiches and a piece of fruit they looked bewildered. They asked the chef and he replied he'll just collect a selection of what they would normally serve and a bottle of water each. Very disappointing. (see photo to see what they collected for us).
All in all we were very disappointed. We won't be recommending this hotel to anybody .

Overall we really enjoyed our holiday in Zanzibar, we went to many great trips with local guides and explored a lot. The hotel and its staff are nice, they keep the rooms and hotel area really clean, but there is a lot to improve. It is a simple and sustainable place, and for the price you pay you probably cannot get more. If you are a young and active couple, you like to explore things outside of the hotel and also want to save up some money on accomodation, this might be a good choice for you. However, If you want to enjoy a proper all inclusive services, you should really choose something else. Unfortunately this biggest deficiency of this hotel is the beach in front of the hotel and the entrance to the sea which is totally filled with boats everyday and makes it impossible to use it. The part of the beach in front of the hotel basically serves as a port for boats. You cannot just jump into the water in front of the hotel but you have to walk a bit to other parts of the beach, during which you get called by many locals trying to sell you massages, trips, their products etc. Food in the hotel is quite average. During the week of our stay I cannot say I would have enjoyed or really liked any of the dishes. Even with all inclusive, there is no food provided between breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also missed more fish on the menu. We were feeling hungry everyday as there was nothing to eat between lunch served from 12 till 2 PM until the dinner starting from 7, sometimes 7.30 PM. I believe there could provide at least some of local fruits for a snack. With all inclusive, there is a very limited selection of alcohol drinks (only 4 or 5, the rest on the menu you have to pay). Moreover, we were experiencing the power outage everyday at least two times a day, with not only electricity but also water not working. It was unpleasant especially in the morning when we needed to use the bathroom. The rooms, especially the bathrooms would need some renovations. The area around the hotel is shabby (I upload some photos) and the loud music plays until like 1 AM, so you can have some hard time to sleep. We also missed a furtniture in the room where we could unpack and put our clothes. During a week of our stay, we had to keep our things in our suitcases as there was no place to put it. Overall, as we spend a lot of time outside of the hotel, this accommodation was more or less okay, but I am sure there are better hotels in the area on Kendwa or Nungwi beach.

Dear Alexandra, Greetings from Sansi Kendwa Beach Resort, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent stay at our hotel. While we're glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday in Zanzibar and appreciated the efforts of our staff in maintaining cleanliness, we regret that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We share your concern about inaccessibility of the beach due to boats. I would like to remind you, as mentioned on site, that all beaches in Zanzibar are public beaches. The fishermen who live in the village of Kendwa have rights to park their boats. It is part of the local culture and gives the opportunity to our guests to enjoy the beauty of the scene. Moreover, I would like to rectify, the boats are parked only during the night. Your comments about the food and the limited options during certain hours are duly noted we have meal plan hours and our chef are more active to make sure to refill the dishes which are empty. Also, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the power outages which is caused by low voltage all area of Nungwi and Kendwa not only to our Resort but our Main supplier is looking to resolve the matter shortly. We genuinely appreciate your understanding and hope that despite the challenges, you were still able to enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar. We take your feedback seriously and will use it to make the necessary improvements to our services and facilities. If your travels bring you back to Zanzibar, we would be honored to have another opportunity to provide you with a more positive experience. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. Best regards, Joseph kadaso

Worst experience of my life.
We booked sansi kendwa beach resort for our holidays in zanzibar. One day before my flight we get a message from the hotel that they reallocate us in their 5star hotel Sansi Kae Beach Resort as an upgrade because they were overbooked. We had to stay there 5 nights! They told us that we will not be disappointed. We didn't have any other option than to accept as we were already at the airport. Except from the kindness of the staff, the hotel was not a 5star hotel, otherwise they don't know how is a 5star hotel. Food: poor, limited selections, found flies on Nutella.
Beach: not what you expecting for your summer holidays. As in this part of the island (Michamvi) has tides.
Rooms: Old rooms, old furniture, old bathroom, water smell terrible. Insects everywhere, ants, flies. First day dirty towels. We complaint at the reception they said that they make a deep cleaning. Next day we saw 2 tiny lizards on the wall. We immediately booked another hotel and left this nightmare behind.
If that was a 5 star hotel then I can't imagine how will be a 4star hotel like sansi kendwa.!!!!
If you want to save your holidays then avoid Sansi Hotels.

Dear valued guest, We are truly sorry to hear that your recent stay with us did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced due to our decision to relocate you to Sansi Kae Beach Resort. We are surprise by your disappointment with the quality of the food and the limited selection available during your stay as our chef makes homemade buffets with various starter, main dishes and desserts. Though, we have taken note of your feedback and are working with our culinary team to always improve our menus. Regarding the beach, we apologize if the tides during your stay did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we have no control over the natural conditions of the sea. Regarding the condition of the rooms, we are sorry to hear that the quality did not meet your expectations. We take cleanliness and maintenance seriously and have immediately addressed your concerns with our housekeeping and maintenance teams. We appreciate your feedback and we will use it constructively to improve the quality of our services and facilities. We hope that you will give us another chance to exceed your expectations in the future. However, please note that fauna and flora are part of what makes the beauty of this island and we strive to protect it as much as we can. Best Regards,

Staff is really nice and that’s the only positive point. The hotel infrastructure is very poor. There are no comfortable chairs ou loungers, you cannot get a cold drink (unless you put ice in it), serious generator problems with power cuts all the time, mini-fridges in bedrooms don’t work, forget about TV, food is not good, this is not a 4* hotel, more like a bad 3*. If you want to swim will have to walk. Lots of trash/fishing boats on the beach/in the sea in front of hotel. If you can’t have a late checkout and your flight is in the evening be aware that there is no bathroom or other facilities in common areas. I had to book an extra day in another hotel nearby. People may say these are Africa standards, but it’s not the case because I have checked other hotels. If comfort is important do not stay here. Terrible internet connection, again, it’s not a Zanzibar issue, it’s this hotel. Coffee is also terrible, weak filtered coffee. It’s a shame because coffee beans are very good in TZ. Pool is terrible too. I loved everything else about Zanzibar

The General Manager (Joseph) has been remarkable to us during our stay, he is the reason why we will visit the Hotel once again on 25th, February, he was so wonderful to assist us how we can get all our requirements during the stay at the Hotel.
The leadership of Joseph invited me & my friends to a function around the hotel, early evening,

The leadership highlighted issues that they would wish me to overstay 😂😂 simply the place is beautiful qnd People are very fun, we addresss when I meet my partners to visit the hotel again, Some of the services will require high level of human interactions. Happy to stay and i will continue to visit the hotel for all my next visitation. Asante sana!

The hotel does not worth the price, it is very expensive and does not deliver. There are many others hotels around the same price that are a lot better. The food was average and there was not many choice, the rooms were very old like and one of our rooms did not had hot water, the beach around the hotel is terrible, you have to walk a little on the beach to have a nice beach, there was a guy in the restaurant that was trying to be nice but he was very annoying, we were trying to have dinner and he was always talking with us asking for a good review . Do not recommend the hotel.
