I paid for the most expensive room in this lodge with the promise of safety but to my worst experience in history, i had a thief break in and enter my room around 1am as i slept. He literally broke the aluminium burglar bar and window lock to gain access into my room through the window. i only woke wen i saw the burglar squeezing himself out of the room. He/she got away with my fone, purse with all the money i had. Wen i contacted the owner of the lodge as there was no manager or supervisor on duty, (just an old man there as a stooge security guard), the owner told me Im disturbing her and its night she cant do anything as she is asleep..imagine the audacity. i have since engaged the police and cid department of iringa as i strongly and so do they believe this has been an inside job. I will surely sue this hell house they call a lodge with every effort i can put in.

I had some one book for me a hotel before my arrival .. if it wasnt cause they have payed already i would have left for another place. Rooms are small, they are prices are crazy.. oh my God! Let me not speak pf their breakfast.. for the prices they have its not a good place to waste your money. The only good thing is that its located at a good, quite street and the old man who is a guard there is quit friendly.

They're right opposite a church which started it's Sunday pre-dawn morning sermon with a man who "spoke in tongues" into a microphone! Their rooms are lined up with doors in echoing hallways and people came and went all night. I initially thought I'd stay two nights but after the first, i checked out and went down the road to the Roman Catholic Ruaha University Hostel, which has reasonanle sized rooms for half the price of this place. I guess the hot water is the only upside here, and maybe the runny oats porridge in their average buffet breakfast.

We chose to stop off at the New Ruaha International lodge as it broke up the road journey from Mikumi to Ruaha park. We wished we had continued and excluded the stop. Our room, 306 was filthy, the whitewashed walls coated in black grime, the shower outlet blocked with human hairs, the bedspread stained, all in all it was truly awful. It was graduation day on our visit so it may excuse why it was that the restaurant could only provide chips and a small piece of burnt battered fish, there was no choice. Breakfast was beyond belief. A girl wandering around with a mobile phone pressed to her ear using the other hand to either point or collect one or two of the many dirty dishes that littered every table was the waitress. 4 small cuts of Mango adorned a plate, it was partially covered in cling film. What else have you, a finger pointed to a plastic washing up bowl containing sliced bread. Have you any butter, no, any jam, no. Spanish omelette was offered and rejected, it was not worth the risk. We were joined by a local businessman from Dar es Salaam, using the local language he told the girl what he also thought of the appalling mess and scarcity of food before advising us to check out. It was advice that was not needed since ours was fortunately just a one night booking. Was anything worthy of praise? Yes the most delightful and helpful girl on reception. She visited the dinning room and was also taken aback by the standards on view. We were so happy when our driver arrived and we were able to escape into the delightful and interesting town of Iringa.
