We had a delightful stay in Sutherland. The B&B is in the main road so it is easy to find, and there is no traffic noise (this is Sutherland after all!). There is safe, covered parking off road at the back of the B&B and you can walk over the road to The White House Inn for an evening meal. We had and enormous suite, lounge with small fridge and coffee station, a big bedroom with crisp linen and a spacious bathroom. The host also told us about the local tour at the church, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We also got a lovely breakfast with little details such a fresh herbs on the plates. An excellent choice in Sutherland!
Thoroughly enjoyed our accommodation at Skitterland B&B. Our room was kitted out with everything anyone would need for an overnight stay. Amelia was a delightful hostess and I would highly recommend this establishment. Breakfast was delicious and catered for all taste buds, even with a power outage!!!
Comfortable, well kept facility with luxury amenaties and great breakfast. Friendly staff, accommodating to last minute changes. Safe parking. Well kept garden. Walking distance to restaurant, with great coffee/tea and rusks for early morning indulgement.
We spent 2 nights at Skitterland during summer. The hotel is a converted house built late 1800's. It has olde worlde comfort and modern amenities. Small details make the difference - dressing gowns, rusks, electric blankets and shoe brush to get rid of the dust on your shoes. Scented, red roses are picked from the garden and placed in the rooms. Anelia is a welcoming and delightful host. She takes care of you and can recommend things to do in the area. She cooks the breakfast and makes the most delicious apricot and fig jams. Definite recommendation! We stayed in the Sagittarius suite - with two double rooms and a separate bathroom off the sitting room. There is satellite TV, Wifi, microwave, Fridge, kettle and set of plates and cutlery.
We loved the old stone house in the centre of this very quiet little town. It has everything you need, all so thoughtfully and generously assembled. What a treat it was to sleep with the sash windows wide open, no bars, no beams, just pure Karoo air coming through the windows. The unique pool was also a blessing in the summer heat.
